Effects of dexamethasone and Salvia miltiorrhiza on multiple organs in rats with severe acute pancreatitis

Objective:To investigate the protective effects and mechanisms of action of dexamethasone and Salvia miltiorrhiza on multiple organs in rats with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). Methods:The rats were divided into sham-operated, model control, dexamethasone treated, and Salvia miltiorrhiza treated groups. At 3, 6, and 12 h after operation, the mortality rate of different groups, pathological changes, Bcl-2-associated X protein (Bax) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) protein expression levels in multiple organs (the pancreas, liver, kidneys, and lungs), toll-like receptor 4 (TLR-4) protein levels (only in the liver), intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1) protein levels (only in the lung), and terminal deoxynucleotidy transferase mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate (dUTP) nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining expression levels, as well as the serum contents of amylase, glutamate-pyruvate transaminase (GPT), glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine (CREA) were observed. Results:The mortality rate of the dexamethasone treated group was significantly lower than that of the model control group (Pdifferent degrees (P<0.05 and P<0.01, respectively), the expression levels of Bax and NF-κB proteins, and apoptotic indexes of multiple organs were reduced (P<0.05 and P<0.01, respectively). The contents of amylase, GPT, GOT, BUN, and CREA in the two treated groups were significantly lower than those in model control groups (P<0.05 and P<0.01, respectively). The expression level of ICAM-1 protein in the lungs (at 3 and 12 h) in the dexamethasone treated group was significantly lower than that in the Salvia miltiorrhiza treated group (P<0.05). The serum contents of CREA (at 12 h) and BUN (at 6 h) of the Salvia miltiorrhiza treated group were significantly lower than those in the dexamethasone treated group (P<0.05). AIM: To observe the protective effect of Radix Astragali injection on immune organs (lymph nodes, spleen and thymus) of rats with obstructive jaundice (OJ) and its mechanism. METHODS: SD rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group, model control group and Radix Astragali treatment group. On days 7, 14, 21 and 28 after operation, mortality rate of rats, pathological changes in immune organs, expression levels of Bax and nuclear factor (NF)-κB p65 proteins, apoptosis indexes and serum tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α level in spleen and thymus were observed, ***: Compared to model control group, the number of dead OJ rats in Radix Astragali treatment group decreased (P > 0.05). The TNF-α level (27.62 ± 12.61 vs 29.55 ± 18.02, 24.61 ± 9.09 vs 31.52 ± 10.95) on days 7 and 21, the pathological severity score for spleen [0.0 (0.0) vs 0.0 (2.0) on days 7 and 14 and for lymph nodes [0.0 (1.0) vs 1.0 (2.0), 1.0 (0.0) vs 2.0 (1.0)] on days 21 and 28, the product staining intensity and positive rate of Bax protein in spleen [0.0 (0.0) vs 1.0 (2.0), 0.0 (1.0) vs 2.0 (1.5) and thymus [0.0 (0.0) vs 1.0 (2.0), 0.0 (1.0) vs 2.0 (1.5)] on days 14 and 28, the apoptotic indexes [0.0 (0.0) vs 0.0 (0.01)] in spleen and thymus [0.0 (0.0) vs 0.0 (0.01) on days 14 and 21 were significantly lower in Radix Astragali treatment group than in model control group (P dix Astragali has protective effects on immune organs of OJ rats by relieving the pathological changes in immune organs, reducing TNF-α level and inhibiting Bax expression and apoptosis in spleen and thymus.

Effect of dietary supplement of inactivated Lactobacillus plantarum Ep-M 17 on growth performance,immune response,disease resistance,and intestinal microbiota in Penaeus vannamei

Machine learning enabling prediction in mechanical performance of Ti6Al4V fabricated by large-scale laser powder bed fusion via a stacking model

Determining appropriate process parameters in large-scale laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)additive manufacturing pose formidable challenges that necessitate advanced approaches to minimize trial-and-error during *** work proposed a data-driven approach based on stacking ensemble learning to predict the mechanical properties of Ti6Al4V alloy fabricated by large-scale LPBF for the first *** method can adapt to the complexity of large-scale LPBF data distribution and exhibits a more generalized predictive capability compared to base ***,the stacking model utilized artificial neural network(ANN),gradient boosting regressor,kernel ridge regression,and elastic net as base models,with the Lasso model serving as the *** optimization and cross-validation were utilized for model optimization and training based on a limited data set,resulting in higher predictive accuracy compared to traditional artificial neural network *** statistical analysis of the ANN and stacking models indicates that the stacking model exhibits superior performance on the test set,with a coefficient of determination value of 0.944,mean absolute percentage error of 2.51%,and root mean squared error of 27.64,surpassing that of the ANN *** statistical metrics demonstrate superiority over those obtained from the ANN *** results confirm that by integrating the base models,the stacking model exhibits superior predictive stability compared to individual base models alone,thereby providing a reliable assessment approach for predicting the mechanical properties of metal parts fabricated by the LPBF process.

Joint Transmit and Reflective Beamforming Design for Active IRS-Aided SWIPT Systems

To further improve the performance of passive intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)-assisted communication systems and mitigate the serious path loss due to “double-fading ” of IRS-assisted links, an active IRS-aided simultaneous wireless information and power transfer(SWIPT) system is investigated. This paper jointly optimizes the transmit beamforming at the base station(BS) and the phase shifts at the active IRS in order to maximize the power collected by the energy harvesting receiver under both perfect and imperfect channel state information(CSI)states, subject to the signal-to-interference-noise ratio constraint of the information decoding receiver, and the power constraints of the BS/IRS. Under perfect CSI, the alternating optimization algorithm is utilized for obtaining the transmit beamforming at the BS and the phase shifts at the active IRS. For each subproblem, we first transform nonconvex objective function and constraints into convex ones by performing a first-order Taylor expansion. Then, each subproblem is solved by using the interior point method. Given that obtaining perfect CSI is impractical, two robust beamforming designs are proposed for imperfect CSI case. Under the bounded CSI error model, we first transform the non-convex optimization problem into two semidefinite programming subproblems, and then solve each subproblem based on S-procedure and sequential rank-one constraint relaxation(SROCR) techniques. Under the stochastic CSI error model, the alternating optimization method is applied in an iterative manner based on Bernstein-type inequality and SROCR technique. Simulation results show that both robust and non-robust schemes for active IRS-assisted SWIPT systems can achieve extremely superior performance over conventional passive IRS-assisted systems under the same overall power budget.

This study aims to improve the performances of the high-pressure water descaling technology used in steel hot rolling *** particular,a 2050 mm hot rolling line is considered,and the problem is investigated by means of a fluid–structure interaction(FSI)method by which the descaling effect produced by rolling coils with different section sizes is *** a flat fan-shaped nozzle at the entrance of the R1R2 roughing mill,the outflow field characteristics and the velocity distribution curve on the strike line(at a target distance of 30–120 mm)are *** is found that the velocity in the center region of the water jet with different target distances is higher than that in the boundary *** the target distance increases,the velocity of the water jet in the central region *** comparison with experimental results,it is shown that the simulation model can accurately predict the impact position of the high-pressure water on the impact plate,thereby providing a computational scheme that can be used to optimize the nozzle space layout and improve the slabs’descent effect for different rolling specifications.

Nonlocal coherence harvesting from quantum vacuum

It is well known that nonlocal coherence reflects nonclassical correlations better than quantum entanglement. Here, we analyze nonlocal coherence harvesting from the quantum vacuum to particle detectors adiabatically interacting with a quantum scalar field in Minkowski *** find that the harvesting-achievable separation range of nonlocal coherence is larger than that of quantum entanglement. As the energy gap grows sufficiently large, the detectors harvest less quantum coherence, while the detectors could extract more quantum entanglement from the vacuum state. Compared with the linear configuration and the scalene configuration, we should choose the model of equilateral triangle configuration to harvest tripartite coherence from the vacuum. Finally, we find a monogamous relationship, which means that tripartite l_(1)-norm of coherence is essentially bipartite types.
