To investigate the electrodeposition mechanism of Ti^4＋, electrochemistry experiments were conducted using a KF-KCl-K2Ti6O13 molten salt at a Cu electrode at 950 ℃. Transient electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry（CV） and square-wave voltammetry were used in this study. The main phases and compositions of the product were analyzed by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, and energy-dispersive spectrometry（EDS）. The resulting product has the structure of metallic Ti. The results indicate that Ti^4＋ is reduced to metallic Ti by a two-step mechanism, corresponding to the reduction pathway： Ti^4＋→ Ti^2＋→ Ti. Moreover, Cu-Ti alloy could be obtained by the potentiostatic electrolysis at a Cu electrode.

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

Based on the Eulerian-Lagrangian approach,a mathematical model was established to describe the gas-liquid flow behavior in the Ruhrstahl-Heraeus(RH)*** momentum source and the turbulent kinetic energy source due to the motion of gas bubbles were considered for the liquid *** effect of the expansion of gas bubbles on the liquid velocity,recirculation rate,and mixing time was quantitatively *** the fluid flow reached the steady state,the melting and mixing processes of aluminum alloys in the RH degasser were also *** results indicate that the expansion of gas bubbles has a significant infuence on the recirculation rate and the mixing time in the RH *** the superheat of liquid steel and decreasing the initial diameter of alloy particles are beneficial to promote the melting and mixing of alloy *** to the existence of solidified steel shells,the maximum diameter of the alloy particle is about 1.5 times its initial diameter.

The ubiquitin proteasome system(UPS) is important for the degradation of proteins in eukaryotic cells. It is involved in nearly every cellular process and plays an important role in maintaining body homeostasis. An increasing body of evidence has linked alterations in the UPS to gastrointestinal malignancies,including esophageal,gastric and colorectal cancers. Here,we summarize the current literature detailing the involvement of the UPS in gastrointestinal cancer,highlighting its role in tumor occurrence and development,providing information for therapeutic targets research and antigastrointestinal tumor drug design.

BACKGROUND: In liver fibrosis, alterations within the space of disse microenvironment facilitate the progression of chronic liver disease. The normal basement membranelike matrix in the space of disse converts to a matrix rich in fibril-forming collagens during the fibrosis. This study aimed to investigate the impact of alterations in the space of disse microenvironment on the migration of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) in the process of liver fibrosis, and to explore the novel mechanism ofliver fibrosis from the viewpoint of cell migration. METHODS: A modified in vitro Boyden chamber system was employed to partially mimic the in vitro microenvironment of the disse space in normal liver and in fibrosis. The effects of fibrogenetic growth factors on the migration of HSCs in simulated liver fibrosis were assessed by cell migration and cell proliferation experiments. RESULTS: Enhanced platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)-BB, transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-beta 1) and/or epithelial growth factor (EGF) in liver fibrosis resulted in an increase in migratory capacity of activated HSCs. The enhanced migration of HSCs, induced by PDGF-BB was proliferation -independent. The elevation of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) or vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) during liver fibrosis had no effect on the migration of HSCs. CONCLUSIONS: The study provides valuable insights into the role of the space of disse microenvironment in regulating the migratory behavior of HSCs. TGF-beta 1, PDGF-BB and EGF, which increase in liver fibrosis, induce the migration of activated HSCs. However, bFGF and VEGF have no effect although they also increase during liver fibrosis.

In order to describe the importance of uncertainty analysis in seawater intrusion forecasting and identify the main factors that might cause great differences in prediction results, we analyzed the influence of sea level rise, tidal effect, the seasonal variance of influx, and the annual variance of the pumping rate, as well as combinations of different parameters. The results show that the most important factors that might cause great differences in seawater intrusion distance are the variance of pumping rate and combinations of different parameters. The influence of sea level rise can be neglected in a short-time simulation （ten years, for instance）. Retardation of seawater intrusion caused by tidal effects is obviously important in aquifers near the coastline, but the influence decreases with distance away from the coastline and depth away from the seabed. The intrusion distance can reach a dynamic equilibrium with the application of the sine function for seasonal effects of influx. As a conclusion, we suggest that uncertainty analysis should be considered in seawater intrusion forecasting, if possible.

The damage and permeability evolution of rock under stress is of great significance to engineering *** this paper,the evolution law of rock damage and permeability is studied by means of acoustic emission (AE) seepage experiment on deep roof sandstone with cyclic *** of damage uses the changes in acoustic emission fractal characteristics and compression parameter which based on elastic *** experimental results show that the AE events has fractal characteristic,in which the AE b-value and correlation dimension can represent the damage of *** the fractal characteristic value of AE increases,it indicates that the rock is in the compaction stage and the damage is not *** the fractal characteristic value of AE drops,it indicates that the rock was damaged,and the *** the cyclic load increasing step by step,the elastic modulus first increases and then *** compression parameter C to characterize the state of compaction and damage,it is obtained that the rock damage state and hydrostatic permeability show a power law function relationship with porosity and have the same *** compression parameter is less than zero,the evolution law of permeability and damage can be described by functional relationship between hydrostatic permeability K and compression parameter C.

Z)-a-Selanyl alkenyl Grignard reagents 2 were prepared conveniently by treatment of a-bromovinylselenides 1 with magnesium filings in THF. Intermediates 2 were reacted with alkyl iodides in the presence of CuI or Pd(PPh3)4 to afford (Z)-1,2-disubstituted vinylselenides 3, which were cross-coupled with Grignard reagents in the presence of (PPh3)2NiCl2 to give trisubstituted alkenes 4 stereoselectively in good yields.
