Effect of Manufacturing Errors on Static Characteristics of Externally Pressurized Spherical Air Bearings

Externally pressurized spherical air bearings are the key component of the three-axis air bearing table, and the manufacturing errors of the bearing affects the performance of the air bearing table. However, the manufacturing errors are unavoidable, and the pursuit to enhance the manufacturing accuracy will increase the cost greatly. In order to provide some theoretical guideline for the tolerance choice in the design of the externally pressurized spherical air bearings with inherent compensation, the effects of several manufacturing errors on the static characteristics of the air bearing are studied. Due to the complex geometry of the computational domain, an unstructured meshing technology is used for mesh generation. A finite-volume method is adopted to discretize the three-dimensional steady-state compressible Navier-Stokes equations. A modified SIMPLE algorithm which is suitable for compressible flows is applied to solve the discretized governing equations. The effects of the dimension error and the roundness error of the ball head and the ball socket on the static characteristics are investigated. The investigation result shows that the positive dimension error and the oblate spheroid-type roundness error of the ball head as well as the negative dimension error and the prolate spheroid-type roundness error of the ball socket can improve the bearing capacity and static stiffness of the air bearings by reducing the mass flow. The calculation method proposed in this paper fits well for the general principle, which can be extended to the characteristics analysis of other air bearings.

Improvement of the matrix and the interface quality of a Cu/Al composite by the MARB process

The matrix accumulative roll bonding technology （MARB） can improve the matrix performance of metal composite and strengthen the bonding quality of the interface./n this research, for the fwst time, the technology of MARB was proposed. A sound Cu/AI bonding composite was obtained using the MARB process and the bonding characteristic of the interface was studied using scanning electricity microscope （SEM） and energy-dispersive spectroscopy （EDS）. The result indicated that accumulation cycles and diffusion annealing temperature were the most important factors for fabricating a Cu/AI composite material. The substrate aluminum was strengthened by MARB, and a high quality Cu/AI composite with sound interface was obtained as well.

BACKGROUND: The study aims to illustrate the clinical characteristics and development of septic shock in intensive care unit(ICU) patients confirmed with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-Co V-2) infection, and to perform a comprehensive analysis of the association between septic shock and clinical outcomes in critically ill patients with coronavirus disease(COVID-19).METHODS: Patients confirmed with SARS-Co V-2 infection, who were admitted to the ICU of the Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen from January 1 to February 7, 2020, were enrolled. Clinical characteristics and outcomes were compared between patients with and without septic ***: In this study, 35 critically ill patients with COVID-19 were included. Among them, the median age was 64 years(interquartile range [IQR] 59-67 years), and 10(28.4%) patients were female. The median ICU length of stay was 16 days(IQR 8-23 days). Three(8.6%) patients died during hospitalization. Nine(25.7%) patients developed septic shock in the ICU, and these patients had a significantly higher incidence of organ dysfunction and a worse prognosis than patients without septic ***: Septic shock is associated with a poor outcome in critically ill COVID-19 patients and is one of the hallmarks of the severity of patients receiving ICU care. A dysregulated immune response, uncontrolled infl ammation, and coagulation disorders are strongly associated with the development and progression of COVID-19-related septic shock.

Improved electrical transport properties and optimized thermoelectric figure of merit in lithium-doped copper sulfides

Copper sulfide Cu2S is a p-type semiconducting compound that has attracted great attentions in the thermoelectric （TE） community most recently. Considering the intrinsic ultralow lattice thermal conductivity, the enhancement of TE performance in CuzS should be achieved through improving its electrical transport properties. To achieve this goal, lithium element was doped into CuzS in this study. A series of Cu2_xLixS samples with different Li contents （x = 0, 0.005, 0.010, 0.050, and 0.100） was synthesized by the melting-annealing method. When x 〈 0.05, the Cuz_xLixS samples are stable and pure phases, having the same monoclinic structure with the pristine Cu2S at room temperature. The electrical conductivities in the Cu2_xLixS samples are greatly improved with the Li-doping content increasing due to the enhanced carrier concentrations. Meanwhile, doping Li into CuzS increases the ionic activation energy and lessens the influence of mobile Cu ions on the heat-carrying phonons. Thus, the thermal conductivities of the Li-doped Cu2S samples increase. A maximal figure of merit （zT） of 0.84 at 900 K is obtained in Cul.99Lio.018, about 133% improvement as compared with that in Cu2S matrix.

We report the clinical and laboratory findings and successful management of seven patients with critical coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)requiring mechanical ventilation(MV).The patients were diagnosed based on epidemiological history,clinical manifestations,and nucleic acid *** diagnosis with COVID-19 of critical severity,the patients were admitted to the intensive care unit,where they received early noninvasive-invasive sequential ventilation,early prone positioning,and bundle pharmacotherapy regimen,which consists of antiviral,anti-inflammation,immune-enhancing,and complication-prophylaxis *** patients presented fever(n=7,100%),dry cough(n=3,42.9%),weakness(n=2,28.6%),chest tightness(n=1,14.3%),and/or muscle pain(n=1,14.3%).All patients had normal or lower than normal white blood cell count/lymphocyte count,and chest computed tomography scans showed bilateral patchy shadows or ground glass opacity in the *** acid testing confirmed COVID-19 in all seven *** median MV duration and intensive care unit stay were 9.9 days(interquartile range,6.5-14.6 days;range,5-17 days)and 12.9 days(interquartile range,9.7-17.6 days;range,7-19 days),*** seven patients were extubated,weaned off MV,transferred to the common ward,and discharged as of the writing of this ***,we concluded that good outcomes for patients with critical COVID-19 can be achieved with early noninvasive-invasive sequential ventilation and bundle pharmacotherapy.

BACKGROUND The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has become an immense public health burden,first in China and subsequently *** effective control measures for COVID-19,especially measures that can halt the worsening of severe cases to a critical status is of urgent *** SUMMARY A 52-year-old woman presented with a high fever(38.8°C),chills,dizziness,and ***,she had not been to Wuhan where COVID-19 emerged and did not have a family history of a disease cluster.A blood test yielded a white blood cell count of 4.41×109/L(60.6±2.67%neutrophils and 30.4±1.34%lymphocytes).Chest imaging revealed bilateral ground-glass lung *** on a positive nasopharyngeal swab nucleic acid test result and clinical characteristics,the patient was diagnosed with *** treatment with early non-invasive ventilation and a bundle pharmacotherapy,she recovered with a good *** Early non-invasive ventilation with a bundle pharmacotherapy may be an effective treatment regimen for the broader population of patients with COVID-19.

A multicenter phase II trial of domestic product of zoledronic acid in the treatment of malignant hypercalcemia

Objective:To evaluate the effect and safety of clinical use of zoledronic acid in the treatment of malignant ***:A multi-center,open phase II clinical trial was conducted in 15 cases with malignant hypercalcemia who received zoledronic acid intravenously for 15 *** level of blood calcium and side effects were recorded regularly within 28 days after ***:One case was dropped out due to bad *** complete response rate(the corrected serum calcium was reduced to normal level)was 100.00%(14/14).The medium time of complete response rate was 5.07 *** medium maintain time was 22.30 ***,or moderate fever was ***:Zoledronic acid can effectively reduce the malignant *** use of zoledronic acid appears to be safety and convenient.
