Enhancing the mechanical properties of casting eutectic high -entropy alloys via W addition

The effect of W element on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of Al_(1.25)CoCrFeNi3 eutectic high-entropy alloy and Al_(1.25)CoCrFeNi_(3-x)W_(x)(x=0,0.05,0.1,0.3,and 0.5;atomic ratio)high-entropy alloys(HEAs)were explored.Results show that the Al_(1.25)CoCrFeNi_(3-x)W_(x) HEAs are composed of face-centered cubic and body-centered cubic(BCC)phases.As W content increases,the microstructure changes from eutectic to dendritic.The addition of W lowers the nucleation barrier of the BCC phase,decreases the valence electron concentration of the HEAs,and replaces Al in the BCC phase,thus facilitating the nucleation of the BCC phase.Tensile results show that the addition of W greatly improves the mechanical properties,and solid-solution,heterogeneous-interface,and second-phase strengthening are the main strengthening mechanisms.The yield strength,tensile strength,and elongation of the Al_(1.25)CoCrFeNi2.95W0.05 HEA are 601.44 MPa,1132.26 MPa,and 15.94%,respectively,realizing a balance between strength and plasti-city.The fracture mode of the Al_(1.25)CoCrFeNi_(3-x)W_(x) HEAs is ductile–brittle mixed fracture,and the crack propagates and initiates in the BCC phase.The eutectic lamellar structure impedes crack propagation and maintains plasticity.

Space objects such as spacecraft or missiles may be exposed to intense X-rays in outer space,leading to severe damage.The reinforcement of these objects to reduce the damage caused by X-ray irradiation is a significant concern.The blow-off impulse(BOI)is a crucial physical quantity for investigating material damage induced by X-ray irradiation.However,the accurate calculation of BOI is challenging,particularly for large deformations of materials with complex configurations.In this study,we develop a novel two-dimensional particle-in-cell code,Xablation2D,to calculate BOIs under far-field X-ray irradiation.This significantly reduces the dependence of the numerical simulation on the grid shape.The reliability of this code is verified by simulation results from open-source codes,and the calculated BOIs are consistent with the experimental and analytical results.

Phosphate removal is crucial for eutrophication control and water quality improvement.Electro-assisted adsorption,an eco-friendly elec-trosorption process,exhibited a promising potential for wastewater treatment.However,there are few works focused on phosphate electro-sorption,and reported electrodes cannot attach satisfactory removal capacities and rates.Herein,electro-assisted adsorption of phosphate via in-situ construction of La active centers on hierarchically porous carbon(LaPC)has been originally demonstrated.The resulted LaPC composite not only possessed a hierarchically porous structure with uniformly dispersed La active sites,but also provided good conductivity for interfacial electron transfer.The LaPC electrode achieved an ultrahigh phosphate electrosorption capability of 462.01 mg g^(-1) at 1 V,outperforming most existing electrodes.The superior phosphate removal performance originates from abundant active centers formed by the coupling of electricﬁeld and capture sites.Besides,the stability and selectivity toward phosphate capture were maintained well even under comprehensive conditions.Moreover,a series of kinetics and isotherms models were employed to validate the electrosorption process.This work demonstrates a deep understanding and promotes a new level of phosphate electrosorption.

Metal–organic gel(MOG)derived composites are promising multi-functional materials due to their alterable composition,identifiable chemical homogeneity,tunable shape,and porous structure.Herein,stable metal–organic hydrogels are prepared by regulating the complexation effect,solution polarity and curing speed.Meanwhile,collagen peptide is used to facilitate the fabrication of a porous aerogel with excellent physical properties as well as the homogeneous dispersion of magnetic particles during calcination.Subsequently,two kinds of heterometallic magnetic coupling systems are obtained through the application of Kirkendall effect.FeCo/nitrogen-doped carbon(NC)aerogel demonstrates an ultra-strong microwave absorption of−85 dB at an ultra-low loading of 5%.After reducing the time taken by atom shifting,a FeCo/Fe3O4/NC aerogel containing virus-shaped particles is obtained,which achieves an ultra-broad absorption of 7.44 GHz at an ultra-thin thickness of 1.59 mm due to the coupling effect offered by dual-soft-magnetic particles.Furthermore,both aerogels show excellent thermal insulation property,and their outstanding radar stealth performances in J-20 aircraft are confirmed by computer simulation technology.The formation mechanism of MOG is also discussed along with the thermal insulation and electromagnetic wave absorption mechanism of the aerogels,which will enable the development and application of novel and lightweight stealth coatings.

lithium-ion batteries(liBs)are crucial for the large-scale utilization of clean energy.However,because of the com-plexity and real-time nature of internal reactions,the mechanism of capacity decline in liBs is still unclear.This has become a bottleneck restricting their promotion and application.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)contains rich electrochemical connotations and significant application prospects,and has attracted widespread atten-tion and research on efficient energy storage systems.Compared to traditional voltage and current data,the state-of-health(SOH)estimation model based on EIS has higher accuracy.This paper categorizes EIS measurement methods based on different principles,introduces the relationship between liBs aging mechanism and SOH,and compares the advantages of different SOH estimation methods.After a detailed analysis of the latest technologies,a review is given.The insights of this review can deepen the understanding of the relationship between EIS and the aging effect mechanism of liBs,and promote the development of new energy storage devices and evaluation methods.

Novel distributed UEP rateless coding scheme for data transmission in deep space networks

In deep space data transmission systems, deep space networks can be constructed on different orbits, and the data from each orbit are always associated with the different reliability requirements. In this study, a novel UEP(unequal error protection) transmission scheme based on distributed LT codes is proposed in order to ensure that all the data can be transmitted according to their own reliability requirements and obtain high transmission efficiency property. In the proposed scheme, the sub-codes on each node(orbits) were performed by a classic LT encoding process. By assigning different degree distributions to the sub-codes, all types of data can be transmitted with better transmission efficiency in comparison to the traditional scheme,and can be recovered at the destination with their own reliability requirements. Moreover, the design of the proposed scheme is much easier than that of the traditional scheme, and is also suitable to the strictly limited processing capacity property of deep space networks. By carrying out asymptotic analysis on the proposed scheme, and by obtaining the numerical and simulation results, it can be seen that the proposed scheme can approximately achieve the same UEP property and much better transmission efficiency than the traditional scheme. Additionally, the results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is much more suitable to deep space network data transmission, in comparison to the traditional scheme.

针对突发公共卫生事件下多个受灾地区之间跨区域应急资源配置的现实需求,研究考虑患者转运的跨区域动态协同应急物流选址−分配优化问题,构建跨区域的患者转运与应急资源协同配置两阶段优化决策模型。模型第1阶段优化确定患者动态变化与相应医院数量及其选址,第2阶段优化确定应急物资配送中心选址与应急物资分配。该优化模型同时考虑应急物流总成本(包括设施固定成本与运营成本)与转运时间2个优化目标,且考虑多周期动态变化的实际需求。针对上述优化模型特征,设计嵌入模型预测控制(MPC)方法的改进遗传算法。该算法将每个决策周期分为3个环节:1)疾病扩散预测环节,即每个周期开始时对疾病发展趋势进行预测;2)应急决策规划及实施环节,根据规划窗口的预测数据制定并实施应急选址−分配方案;3)数据更新与动态调整环节,即每个执行周期结束时,根据实际执行数据制定下一个周期决策。3个环节交互进行,相互迭代直到完成整个规划时期。最后,以贵州省跨区域的应急资源协同配置优化为例,验证所提优化模型及其求解算法的有效性。研究发现:与各区域独自应急相比,跨区域动态协同应急方案在转运时间没有明显增加的情况下,能有效降低应急成本,能够高效率地利用应急设施为感染患者提供救治。研究成果为突发公共卫生事件中多区域之间的协同应急资源配置优化提供决策支持。

N-terminal residues of an HIV-1 gp41 membrane-proximal external region antigen influence broadly neutralizing 2F5-like antibodies

The Human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1) gp41 membrane proximal external region(MPER) is targeted by broadly neutralizing antibodies(e.g. 2F5, 4E10, Z13 e and m66.6), which makes this region a promising target for vaccine design. One strategy to elicit neutralizing antibodies against the MPER epitope is to design peptide immunogens mimicking neutralization structures. To probe 2F5-like neutralizing antibodies, two yeast-displayed antibody libraries from peripheral blood mononuclear cells from a HIV-1 patient were screened against the 2F5 epitope peptide SP62. Two 2F5-like antibodies were identified that specifically recognized SP62. However,these antibodies only weakly neutralized HIV-1 primary isolates. The epitopes recognized by these two 2F5-like antibodies include not only the 2F5 epitope(amino acids(aa) 662–667 in the MPER)but also several other residues(aa 652–655) locating at the N-terminus in SP62. Experimental results suggest that residues of SP62 adjacent to the 2F5 epitope influence the response of broadly neutralizing 2F5-like antibodies in vaccination. Our findings may aid the design of vaccine immunogens and development of therapeutics against HIV-1 infection.

大尺度地理空间和局域尺度微生境植物种群数量特征的比较研究,对解释多变环境植物的趋异适应具有重要意义。在我国北方的天然草原,采用单位面积和大样本取样法,比较纬度梯度下不同群系羊草种群数量特征,进一步分析种群数量特征与纬度的关系。结果表明:纬度梯度上,草甸群系和草甸草原群系羊草的种群密度、种群生物量和种群高度分别为709~1536和661~1109株·m^(-2),366.92~726.40和330.59~410.72 g·m^(-2),56.28~73.49和43.27~68.87 cm,总体上草甸群系均高于草甸草原群系(P<0.05)。随着纬度的增加,不同群系羊草种群数量特征均表现出增加的趋势,种群数量特征与纬度间均较好地符合y=ax的指数函数关系,R^(2)在0.7806~0.9373,拟合方程均达到显著水平。因此,无论在大尺度地理空间,还是局域尺度微生境间羊草种群均表现出明显的适应性调节,局域尺度的不同群系间羊草种群数量特征差异稳定,大尺度的纬度间羊草种群数量特征又表现出一致的规律性。
