The pollution and toxic greenhouse gases produced by fossil fuel combustion are troubling as global energy demand continues to *** mitigate the consequences of global warming,a transition to sustainable energy sources is *** manuscript presents a feasible community microgrid design in Hazaribagh,Dhaka based on meteorological data that leads to photovoltaic installation on the rooftop of a local community *** study shows a microgrid design of a system with the lowest cost of energy and a large renewable fraction,which is analysed using the HOMER Pro *** real-time data,analysis of the system cost,cost of energy,renewable fraction,unmet load,energy purchased and energy sold is discussed.A suitable case for electrification is also identified and presented for the selected *** proposed case yields a cost of energy of$0.0357/kWh,which is 52%less than the current tariff rate,with a 70%renewable *** study will provide people in this community with more green energy at a lower cost;in addition,this designed microgrid sells additional energy to the grid to avoid possible power *** potential for a positive energy community is also investigated in terms of energy consumption and renewable output of the planned microgrid.

Water injection has shown to be one of the most successful,efficient,and cost-effective reservoir management *** re-injecting treated and filtered water into reservoirs,this approach can help maintain reservoir pressure,increase hydrocarbon output,and reduce the environmental *** goal of this project is to create a water injection model utilizing Eclipse reservoir simulation software to better understand water injection methods for reservoir pressure maintenance.A basic reservoir model is utilized in this *** simulation designs,the reservoir length,breadth,and thickness may be changed to different *** water-oil contact was discovered at 7000 feet,and the reservoir pressure was recorded at 3000 pounds per square inch at a depth of 6900 *** aquifer chosen was of the Fetkovich type and was linked to the reservoir in the j+*** porosity was estimated to be varied,ranging from 9%to 16%.The residual oil saturation was set to 25%and the irreducible water saturation was set at 20%.The vertical permeability was set at 50 md as a *** Volume Temperature(PVT)data was used to estimate the gas and water characteristics.

Global demand for electricity is growing significantly in developing *** energy accounts for barely 3%of total energy consumption in *** of renewable energy,***,are increasingly being acknowledged as viable supply-side choices for *** article presents a grid-connected microgrid design based on meteorological data for a local community situated in Mohammadpur,*** study presents a feasible design of a system that gives the lowest cost of energy production and emissions that is evaluated using software named Hybrid Optimization Multiple Energy Resources(HOMER Pro).Comparison and assessment of the net present cost,cost of energy,operating cost and environmental emission for five different feasible microgrids are analysed concerning real-time ***,a suitable case is sorted out and proposed for the local community for *** proposed case offers a$0.0442/kWh cost of energy,which is~32%cheaper than the current rate with a 57.5%renewable fraction and a payback period of 16.86 *** of this local community will have access to considerably more clean energy at a lower price by this study;also this design could sell the excess energy to the grid to avoid frequent electricity outages.

Phase change materials(PCMs)are used in buildings and automobiles to control the interior temperature,following to their high thermal storage capacity and energy *** summer,controlling the interior temperature of vehicles can be difficult,especially in cities where public transportation is excessively ***,heating,ventilation,and air-conditioning systems are included to provide thermal comfort inside vehicles,but they use a significant amount fuel,which ultimately have negative impacts on the *** this study,a prototype bus model was developed from an actual bus and scaled-down to 1/20th size.A bulb was used as an internal heat source and experiments were conducted under the sun in summer to reflect scenarios of buses stuck in *** cases were considered by opening and closing the windows and doors and placing the PCM layer on the roof and covering the *** results demonstrate that when the PCM is used to cover the bulb and roof,the interior temperature can drop to the ambient temperature and remain there for a longer period of *** fact,keeping the windows and doors open results in a significantly lower indoor temperature than when they are *** results show that the heat from the engine makes a major contribution to raising the temperature inside of the *** results from the opened cases can be applied to various forms of public transportation worldwide,but for many closed vehicles,additional ducting systems integrated with PCM may be the best option.

The energy consumption in buildings for heating,ventilation,and air-conditioning is increasing with the in-creasing demand for thermal *** energy storage with phase change material(PCM)has attracted growing attention for its role in achieving energy conservation in buildings with thermal *** paper investigates the effect of PCM on the heat transfer rate in a building wall and the role of PCM on the indoor thermal comfort of the *** models of building wall fragments were developed for the experimental *** one model,tests were conducted for different positions of the PCM layer in the building wall to identify the optimal position of the PCM layer inside the *** another model,tests were carried out integrating PCM,air gap,and other conventional building materials(brickbat and sand),one at a time,to investigate the role of PCM on the heat transfer rate in the building wall *** results show that placing the PCM layer closer to the heat source gives a low-temperature gain of the cold water bath(indoor state)as compared with the PCM layer near the heat *** PCM,the temperature rise of the cold water bath(indoor state)of the building wall fragment was the lowest,and the slope of the temperature rise of the cold water bath becomes steadier with time i.e.,fewer temperature *** was a significant time delay for the cold water bath to reach a given *** heat required for a unit degree increase in the temperature of the cold water bath was higher and the peak heat flux of the wall was lower relative to the other building materials.

This work developed models to identify optimal spatial distribution of emergency evacuation centers(EECs)such as schools,colleges,hospitals,and fire stations to improve flood emergency planning in the Sylhet region of northeastern *** use of location-allocation models(LAMs)for evacuation in regard to flood victims is essential to minimize disaster *** the first step,flood susceptibility maps were developed using machine learning models(MLMs),including:Levenberg-Marquardt back propagation(LM-BP)neural network and decision trees(DT)and multi-criteria decision making(MCDM)*** of the MLMs and MCDM techniques were assessed considering the area under the receiver operating characteristic(AUROC)*** approaches in a geographic information system(GIS)for four well-known LAM problems affecting emergency rescue time are proposed:maximal covering location problem(MCLP),the maximize attendance(MA),p-median problem(PMP),and the location set covering problem(LSCP).The results showed that existing EECs were not optimally distributed,and that some areas were not adequately served by EECs(i.e.,not all demand points could be reached within a 60-min travel time).We concluded that the proposed models can be used to improve planning of the distribution of EECs,and that application of the models could contribute to reducing human casualties,property losses,and improve emergency operation.

Improved Self-Pruning for Broadcasting in Ad Hoc Wireless Networks

Reducing number of forwarding nodes is the main focus of any broadcasting algorithm designed for ad-hoc wireless networks. All reliable broadcasting techniques can be broadly classified under proactive and reactive approaches. In proactive approach, a node selects a subset of its neighbors as forwarding node and announces the forwarding node list in the packet header during broadcast. On the other hand, no such forwarding list is generated in reactive approach. Rather, a node (cognitively) determines by itself whether to forward the packet or not based on neighbor information. Dominant pruning and Self-pruning are two example techniques that fall under proactive and reactive approach respectively. Between the two methods, dominant pruning shows better performance than self-pruning in reducing number of forwarding nodes as they work with extended neighbor knowledge. However, appended forwarding node list increases message overhead and consumes more bandwidth. As a result, the approach becomes non-scalable in large networks. In this paper, we propose a reactive broadcasting technique based on self-pruning. The proposed approach dubbed as “Improved Self-pruning based Broadcasting (ISB)” algorithm completes the broadcast with smaller packet header (i.e., with no overhead) but uses extended neighbor knowledge. Simulation results show that ISB outperforms dominant pruning and self-pruning. Furthermore, as the network gets more spread and denser, ISB works remarkably well.

＜正＞ During the abrasive waterjet cutting process the inside surface of the focus tube is bearing wear which affect the jet cutting quality. This paper presents the effect of surface roughness inside the focus tube on jet velocities at the exit of the focus tube. A Computational Fluid Dynamics （CFD） method has been developed to investigate variation of the particle, water and air velocity at the exit of the focus tube under different roughness heights. The study has been carried out using a multi-phase approach. The governing equations were discretized using the finite volume approach. The solution was obtained using the Inter-Phase Slip Algorithm （IPSA）. The governing equations were closed using the K-e turbulence model. The roughness was modelled by using logarithmic wall function. The volume fractions of air, water and abrasive particles at the exit were compared with the available experimental data. The simulated results showed good agreement with the experimental data.

Drought is primarily an agricultural phenomenon that refers to conditions where plants are responsive to certain levels of moisture stress that affect both the vegetative growth and yield of crops. It occurs when supply of moisture stored in the soil is insufficient to meet the optimum need of a particular type of crop. Causes of drought in Bangladesh are related to climate variability and non-availability of surface water resources. While it may be possible to indicate the immediate cause of a drought in a particular location, it often is not possible to identify an underlying cause. Therefore, to improve all these services in favour of enhancing agricultural production and reducing food insecurity in Bangladesh, it is mandatory to develop an effective way for disseminating the SPI data indicating drought indices to farmers, and enhance drought and climate resilience. To develop future plan and policy in agricultural sector of Bangladesh, it is vital to understand the previous droughts events with accurate indicators. Since this study will contribute to the agricultural development of Bangladesh therefore there is an obvious need to understand the change of drought frequency all over Bangladesh using a standardized drought index. The main intention of this project is to prepare a proper baseline for forecasting drought indices using SPI data. So, the final outcome of this project would be a knowledge base where a proper forecasting tools and dissemination networks can be updated/developed for farmers.
