Modern oceans contain large bathymetric highs(spreading oceanic ridges,aseismic ridges or oceanic plateaus and inactive arc ridges)that,in total,constitute more than 20–30%of the total area of the world’s ocean *** bathymetric highs may be subducted,and such processes are commonly referred to as ridge *** ridge subduction events are not only very common and important geodynamic processes in modern oceanic plate tectonics,they also play an important role in the generation of arc magmatism,material recycling,the growth and evolution of continental crust,the deformation and modification of the overlying plates,and metallogenesis at convergent plate ***,these events have attracted widespread *** perpendicular or high-angle subduction of mid-ocean spreading ridges is commonly characterized by the occurrence of a slab window,and the formation of a distinctive adakite–high-Mg andesite–Nb-enriched basalt-oceanic island basalt(OIB)or a mid-oceanic ridge basalt(MORB)-type rock suite,and is closely associated with Au *** ridges or oceanic plateaus are traditionally considered to be difficult to subduct,to typically collide with arcs or continents or to induce flat subduction(low angle of less than 10°)due to the thickness of their underlying normal oceanic crust(>6–7 km)and high ***,the subduction of aseismic ridges and oceanic plateaus occurred on both the western and eastern sides of the Pacific Ocean during the *** the eastern side of the Pacific Ocean,aseismic ridges or oceanic plateaus are being subducted flatly or at low angles beneath South and Central American continents,which may cause a magmatic *** slab melting can occur and adakites,or an adakite–high-Mg andesite–adakitic andesite–Nb-enriched basalt suite may be formed during the slab rollback or ***-Au mineralization is commonly associated with such flat subduction *** the western side of the Pacific Ocean,ho

Treatment of Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome-Associated Nausea with Haloperidol: A Case Report

Research in my lab focuses on the effects of human aging on 2 socioemotional processes: emotion regulation, and social perception. In both domains, there have been strong reasons to expect age differences. On the emotion regulation side, conceptual models have hypothesized that older adults may more successfully utilize emotion regulation strategies to optimize their positive affect. On the social perception side, a large number of previous studies point to age-related declines in accuracy. Previous studies have generally been designed to maximize the chances of observing age-related improvements in emotion regulation and agerelated declines in social perception. I will present several recent studies that have attempted to use comprehensive methods to describe the behavior of younger, middle-aged and older adults in a range of emotion regulation and social perception tasks. We then used Bayesian approaches to determine whether evidence favored the alternate hypothesis of age differences or the null hypothesis of no age differences. While evidence supported age differences on some tasks, for many others the evidence supported no age differences. These findings are considered from the perspective of how researchers can construct conceptual models of socioemotional aging that take seriously the possibility that some(or many) of the relevant processes do not vary substantially by age.

Introduction: Because of the rising prevalence of cannabis abuse, cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS) was recognized as a new medical diagnosis in 2004. Despite the syndrome’s growing prevalence, many providers are unfamiliar with its diagnosis and treatment, and there is little data to back up clinical knowledge and treatment recommendations. For many years, haloperidol has been widely used as an antiemetic, despite a lack of evidence-based clinical data on efficacy and side effects. We present the case of a female who presented to the emergency room with suspected CHS and was treated with haloperidol. Case: A 34-year-old African-American woman with diabetes and a history of marijuana use presented to the emergency department with refractory nausea and vomiting. Her urine drug screen came back positive for THC, but she denied using marijuana prior to this admission. She stated that she was following her current medication regimen. She denied drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. Multiple doses of ondansetron, promethazine, scopolamine, and metoclopramide had no effect on the patient. After two days of treatment with haloperidol 5 mg by mouth every 8 hours, nausea and vomiting subsided. Discussion: Haloperidol was able to control nausea and vomiting in six previous case reports of CHS. However, haloperidol was administered intravenously in five of the reports, and the route of administration was not specified in the sixth. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to demonstrate the benefit of oral haloperidol for CHS. Conclusion: Although cessation of marijuana use is required for long-term resolution of CHS, our case and six others show the benefit of using IV haloperidol for acute management and oral for relapse prevention. More extensive clinical trials are needed to confirm haloperidol’s therapeutic role in patients presenting with CHS symptoms.

河流下切在岩溶区形成的多级层状洞穴,记录了地体隆升和地貌演化历史,但由于测年手段的限制,国内在这方面的研究一直进展不大。近年来,运用宇宙成因核素得到洞穴碎屑沉积物埋藏年龄的方法,已成为反演山地区域构造-地貌演化的新途径。本文尝试运用宇宙成因核素^(26)Al/^(10)Be埋藏测年技术,对属于贵州荔波地区4层洞穴系统的黑洞(第二层)碎屑沉积物进行年龄测定,假设样品进洞前无埋藏史,测年结果显示黑洞年龄至少有1.06±0.23Ma,并且该地区三岔河流域的侵蚀速率为55.1±2.3m/Ma。这是对该地区洞穴测年的一次新探索,体现出洞穴沉积物宇宙成因核素埋藏测年技术在我国晚新生代地质地貌演化研究方面具有良好的应用前景。

Objective: LYVE-1+ macrophages are observed in a range of cancers, where they play a role in tumour lymphangiogenesis. In rheumatoid arthritis (ra), lymphangiogenesis increases in the early stage of the disease and decreases as it progresses, potentially exacerbating inflammatory cell persistence. We investigated whether LYVE-1+ macrophages were present in ra synovium. Methods: Synovial tissue from ra patients was obtained at joint replacement surgery and immunohistochemistry was performed to visualise LYVE-1+ and CD68+ cells. Results: LYVE-1+ macrophages were present in rheumatoid synovial tissue, the first observation of this kind. Conclusion: Despite the reduction in lymphangiogenesis in chronic ra, LYVE-1 positive macrophages are present and there is a potential role for macrophages in the generation of lymphatic vessels.

Sleep posture monitoring is an essential assessment for obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)*** objective of this study is to develop a machine learning-based sleep posture recognition system using a dual ultra-wideband radar *** collected radiofrequency data from two radars positioned over and at the side of the bed for 16 patients performing four sleep postures(supine,left and right lateral,and prone).We proposed and evaluated deep learning approaches that streamlined feature extraction and classification,and the traditional machine learning approaches that involved different combinations of feature extractors and *** results showed that the dual radar system performed better than either single *** statistical features with random forest classifier yielded the best accuracy(0.887),which could be further improved via an ablation study(0.938).Deep learning approach using transformer yielded accuracy of 0.713.

Triphase Catalysis Based on Gemini Surfactant-Clay Intercalates

A series of novel catalysts was developed using cationic Gemini surfactants intercalated in natural montmorillonite (MMT) clay. These Gemini surfactant-MMT intercalates were used to study the kinetics of a nucleophilic displacement reactions converting n-butyl bromide to n-butyl chloride in a triphase catalytic (TC) system. Most reaction rates compared favorably to those of biphase catalytic reactions where Gemini surfactants were used in the absence of MMT. Catalytic activity varied with Gemini surfactant structure, specifically with carbon spacer group and side chain length. In addition to the ease of catalyst separation that a triphase system affords, Gemini-MMT catalysts are stable and can be recycled and re-used several times.

The fault is potentially vulnerability's geological structure in the working face and its vicinity,and it is also a crucial geological factor affecting coal mine safety *** investigate the unstable failure of surrounding rock induced by fault activation under the influence of adoption,which was studied utilizing field case and numerical analysis for the deformation and failure process of surrounding rock near the fault-affected *** with field cases,this paper analyzes disturbance stress and roof abscission layer monitoring in effecting zones of fault *** the discrete element 3DEC numerical analysis method,the model of surrounding rock unstable fracture induced by fault activation under adoption is *** unstable fracture and stress variation characteristics of surrounding rock induced by fault activation during the excavation of the upper side wall and lower side wall of the faults are simulated and *** analysis shows that as the coal working face continues to advance,the mining stress gradually *** is a zigzag wave on the relationship curve between coal mining and roof displacement near the fault,which reveals that the surrounding rock of the fault activation affected zone is in the superposition state of static load and dynamic ***,the simulation results show that the stress and displacement of surrounding rock near the fault increase with the advance of coal mining *** closer to the fault plane,the displacement gradually returns to zero,and the stress is also in a lower state.

Medical treatment of patients inherently entails the risk of undesired complication or side effects. It is essential to inform the patient about the expected outcomes, but also the possible undesired outcomes. The patients preference and values regarding the potential outcomes should be involved in the decision making process. Even though many orthopaedic surgeons are positive towards shared decision-making, it is minimally introduced in the orthopaedic daily practice and decision-making is still mostly physician based. Decision aids are designed to support the physician and patient in the shareddecision-making process. By using decision aids, patients can learn more about their condition and treatment options in advance to the decision-making. This will reduce decisional conflict and improve participation and satisfaction.
