Effects of derived meals from juncea(Brassica juncea),yellow and black seeded canola(Brassica napus)and multicarbohydrase enzymes supplementation on apparent metabolizable energy in broiler chickens

Two experiments were conducted to determine the nitrogen-corrected apparent metabolizable energy(AMEn) of differently processed meals from juncea(Brassica juncea), yellow and black seeded canola(Brassica napus), with or without supplementation of multi-carbohydrase enzymes(Enz) in diets for broiler chickens. The first experiment was a 3×2×2 factorial arrangement with the main factors being seed type(yellow [Yellow] or black [B1] canola seeds and juncea seeds), processed at two temperatures(high temperature desolventized-toasted [HTDT] at 95℃ or low temperature desolventized-toasted[LTDT] at 57℃), with or without Enz. In Exp. 1, a total of 384 one-day-old male broiler chicks were randomly assigned to 64 battery cages, with 6 birds/cage. The second experiment was a 2×2×2 factorial arrangement with the main factors being seed type(Yellow or black [B2]), seed source(Scott,Saskatchewan or Truro, Nova Scotia) and Enz(with or without) supplementation. A total of 264 one-dayold male broiler chicks were randomly assigned to 44 battery cages, with 6 birds per cage. In Exp, 1 and 2,all birds were fed a common starter diet from 1 to 14 days of age. From d 15 to 21, the birds were fed one of the test treatments, a basal grower diet or the basal grower diet replaced with 30% test ingredient with celite(0.8%) added as an inert marker. Excreta was collected on d 20 and 21. In Exp. 1, there were no interactions(P > 0.05) among seed type, processing temperature and Enz. Processing temperature and dietary Enz did not affect(P > 0.05) AMEn of different canola meals. The AMEn of prepress solvent extracted canola and juncea meals(PSEM) from Yellow(11.2 Mj/kg) was higher(P j/kg) and juncea(10.2 Mj/kg). In Exp. 2, there were no interactions(P > 0.05) among seed color,location and Enz. Supplementation of dietary Enz did not affect(P > 0.05) AMEn of different cold press canola meals. Architectural and personal influences on neighboring behaviors were studied in a residential neighborhood using both qualitative informal conversations, and systematic recording of activity in the neighborhood＇s social space. This dual approach produced new insights into neighboring behaviors and social networks. It was discovered that the residents who participated in the social space were only a portion of the resident population. There was an additional neighborhood-based network whose neighboring was not conducted in the social space; instead it was maintained by direct house-to-house contact. It was also found that some individuals chose not to participate in any neighborhood social network. The social space was an effective neighboring venue for those residents who chose to use it, but did not attract commingling of groups. Contrary to an assumption in previous neighboring research, there are social groups which develop and maintain themselves without participation in a social space.

Experience after 100 patients treated with cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy

AIM:To investigate perioperative patient morbidity/mortality and outcome after cytoreductive surgery(CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC).METHODS:Of 150 patients 100 were treated with cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC and retrospectively *** and postoperative follow-up data were *** mass index(BMI),age and peritoneal carcinomatosis index(PCI) were chosen as selection criteria with regard to tumor-free survival and perioperative morbidity for this multimodal ***:CRS with HIPEC was successfully performed in 100 out of 150 *** patients were excluded because of intraoperative *** PCI was 17(1-39).In 89% a radical resection(CC0/CC1) was *** patient died postoperatively due to multiorgan *** PCI,age nor BMI was a risk factor for postoperative complications/outcome according to the DINDO *** 9% Re-CRS with HIPEC was performed during the follow-up ***:Patient selection remains the most important *** PCI,age nor BMI alone should be an exclusion criterion for this multimodal therapy.

Dynamic energy system modeling using hybrid physics-based and machinelearning encoder–decoder models

Three model configurations are presented for multi-step time series predictions of the heat absorbed by thewater and steam in a thermal power plant. The models predict over horizons of 2, 4, and 6 steps into thefuture, where each step is a 5-minute increment. The evaluated models are a pure machine learning model, anovel hybrid machine learning and physics-based model, and the hybrid model with an incomplete dataset. Thehybrid model deconstructs the machine learning into individual boiler heat absorption units: economizer, waterwall, superheater, and reheater. Each configuration uses a gated recurrent unit (GRU) or a GRU-based encoder–decoder as the deep learning architecture. Mean squared error is used to evaluate the models compared totarget values. The encoder–decoder architecture is over 11% more accurate than the GRU only models. Thehybrid model with the incomplete dataset highlights the importance of the manipulated variables to the *** hybrid model, compared to the pure machine learning model, is over 10% more accurate on averageover 20 iterations of each model. Automatic differentiation is applied to the hybrid model to perform a localsensitivity analysis to identify the most impactful of the 72 manipulated variables on the heat absorbed in theboiler. The models and sensitivity analyses are used in a discussion about optimizing the thermal power plant.

Use of machine learning algorithms to assess the state of rockburst hazard in underground coal mine openings

The risk of rockbursts is one of the main threats in hard coal mines. Compared to other underground mines, the number of factors contributing to the rockburst at underground coal mines is much *** such as the coal seam tendency to rockbursts, the thickness of the coal seam, and the stress level in the seam have to be considered, but also the entire coal seam-surrounding rock system has to be evaluated when trying to predict the rockbursts. However, in hard coal mines, there are stroke or stress-stroke rockbursts in which the fracture of a thick layer of sandstone plays an essential role in predicting rockbursts. The occurrence of rockbursts in coal mines is complex, and their prediction is even more difficult than in other mines. In recent years, the interest in machine learning algorithms for solving complex nonlinear problems has increased, which also applies to geosciences. This study attempts to use machine learning algorithms, i.e. neural network, decision tree, random forest, gradient boosting, and extreme gradient boosting(XGB), to assess the rockburst hazard of an active hard coal mine in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin. The rock mass bursting tendency index WTGthat describes the tendency of the seam-surrounding rock system to rockbursts and the anomaly of the vertical stress component were applied for this purpose. Especially, the decision tree and neural network models were proved to be effective in correctly distinguishing rockbursts from tremors, after which the excavation was not damaged. On average, these models correctly classified about 80% of the rockbursts in the testing datasets.

Identification of Candidate Transcription Factor Binding Sites in the Cattle Genome

A resource that provides candidate transcription factor binding sites （TFBSs） does not currently exist for cattle. Such data is necessary, as predicted sites may serve as excellent starting locations for future omics studies to develop transcriptional regulation hypotheses. In order to generate this resource, we employed a phylogenetic footprinting approach--using sequence conservation across cattle, human and dog and position-specific scoring matrices to identify 379,333 putative TFBSs upstream of nearly 8000 Mammalian Gene Collection （MGC） annotated genes within the cattle genome. Comparisons of our predictions to known binding site loci within the PCKI, ACTA1 and G6PC promoter regions revealed 75% sensitivity for our method of discovery. Additionally, we intersected our predictions with known cattle SNP variants in dbSNP and on the lllumina BovineHD 770k and Bos 1 SNP chips, finding 7534, 444 and 346 overlaps, respectively. Due to our stringent filtering criteria, these results represent high quality predictions of putative TFBSs within the cattle genome. HASTY modulates miRNA biogenesis by linking pri-miRNA transcription and processing
