Some user-level virtualization technologies have been used to convert legacy software (like the existing Windows desktop applications) into the on-demand software without any modification. To give the client a friendly and compatible method to access on-demand legacy software across the Internet, this paper presents a clientend file system for this usage case. It is a Windows user-space file system based on the cloud storage (where the on-demand software is stored), which converts the local file system accesses into remote visits. Quite a few optimizations are adopted and adjusted to suit the file-access-pattern of on-demand software, including the local cache, metadata/data/software prefetch and content-addressable storage (CAS), to decrease the number of remote visits and/or to overlap IO (input/output) operations with software execution. Detailed access-pattern analyses are also presented. This file system has been implemented and tests show that it is practical for much daily-used software-a local cache of limited size can provide up to 80% hit ratio and the corresponding overhead of running-time is about 37%. Owing to this method, on any compatible and networked computer, a user can use his/her personalized software conveniently although it does not exist on the local host.

The precise U-Ph zircon dating of Tianzhushan granites indicates. the emplacement age of the intrusion is127 Ma. It is one part of the Large-scale magmatic emplacement in the extension environment after thecollision betWeen Yangtze Block (YB) and North china Block (NCB), and is belonged to the granitesformed after collision orogens. This large-scale tectonic magma event not only caused the emplacement ofgranitic intrusion and led to intense metamorphism and deformation of the rocks in Dabie area, but alsoplayed a very important role for the Dabie ultrahigh pressure (UHP) metamorphic rocks ultimatelyreturning to the each surface.

Electric field effect on animals has been studied to investigate its relation with seismic anomalous animal behaviors(SAABs)in *** eel,crucian carp,catfish,and soft-shelled turtle responded to the threshold electric field of 1-10 V/m,while duck,goose,cat,sheep,pig,dog,and chicken all responded to the ground electric field of about tens of V/m,depending on the species as well as on *** of the behaviors caused by electric field were similar to those reported as SAABs such as alignment,sudden movement,panic,and *** intensity of electric field due to a major earthquake would have been over these threshold *** estimation based on an electromagnetic model of a fault has been made to induce SAABs as electric shocks to pulsed electric fields in *** seismic electric signals(SES)intensity might be estimated from the observation of SAABs.

THE crystalline-fluid melt inclusions in aquamarines in pegmatites from Mufushan (Hunan Prov.) andAilaoshan (Yunnan Prov.) have been studied. The research shows that there are obvious differences inthe chemical composition of the inclusions in the aquamarines, which is of great importance for studyingthe forming mechanism and origin of pegmatites. 1 General geology of pegmatites Mufushan is situated in the middle sector of the Jiangnan Ancient Land. The granitic pegmatitesmainly outcrop in granite mass of late Yanshanian (105-145 Ma) which was intruded in middle sector ofthe middle Proterozoic strata. The relationship between the sea ice cover in the North Pacific and the typhoon frequency has been studied in this paper. It follows that the index for the sea ice cover in the North Pacific (ISA) both in December-January-February (DJF) and in March-April-May (MAM) is negatively correlated with annual typhoon number over the western North Pacific (TNWNP) during 1965―2004, with correlation coeffi-cients of -0.42 and -0.49 respectively (above 99% significant level). Large sea ice cover in the North Pacific tends to decrease TNWNP. Positive ISA (MAM) is associated with the tropical circulation and SST anomalies in the North Pacific, which may lead to unfavorable dynamic and thermal conditions for typhoon genesis over WNP from June to October (JJASO). The variability of the atmospheric circula-tion over the North Pacific, associated with the ISA anomaly in MAM is connected to the tropical at-mospheric circulation variability in MAM via the teleconnection wave train. Besides, as the tropical circulation has strong seasonal persistency from the MAM to JJASO, thus, the ISA in MAM-related variability of the tropical atmospheric circulation as well as the SST can affect the typhoon activity over the western North Pacific.

The Yalashangbo dome, located at the eastern end of North Himalayan domes zone, has a geometry and structure similar to those of a metamorphic core complex. Ductile shear zones formed the detachment system around the dome and these zones are composed of garnet-bearing phyllonite, mylonitic schist, mylonitic gneiss and mylonitic granite. Ductile shear fabrics developed well in my-lonitic rocks, and penetrative lineation and foliation were formed by stretched quartz and feldspar and preferred orientation of mica. Polar Mohr diagram method is used to calculate the kinematic vorticity numbers of the shear zones in the detachment system. Results indicate that the shear zone is a thinned shear zone (thinning of 23 % ) in an extensional setting which underwent a general shear dominated by simple shear. Comparison of the vorticity numbers between the northern and southern flanks of the Yalashangbo dome shows that the dome is an asymmetric system formed by a north-northwest-directed detaching unanimously. Statistical fractal analysis shows that the shapes of dynamically recrystallized quartz grains in the mylonites have characteristics of self-similarity, with fractal numbers ranging from 1.05 to 1.18. From these fractal numbers, the strain rate of the rock was deduced from 10-9.2S-1 to 10-7.3S-1, the differential paleao-stress was 13.7-25.6 MPa during the deformation happened at a temperature over 500 ℃. The ductile shear zones in the detachment system around Yalashangbo dome were formed under a high green-schist grade condition or happened simultaneously with the intrusion of granite.

As important applications of minimax-type inequalities for a family of functions in [3], in the present paper there are given a number of existence theorems on simultaneous solutions to fixed point and minimax-type inequality problems and to fixed point and variational-type inequality problems. not only abolishing the paracompactness hypothesis on the underlying space and weak- ening the others in the results in[1], but also making them still nicer in form with still more concise and straightforward proofs.

A comprehensive petrographic observation contributes to classification of various textures in welded tuffs into two types, the textures in plastic fragments and the ones in rigid fragments. A detailed petrographic study of the textures in plastic fragments leads to suggestion that thesetextures are not a type of devitrification textures. and also that they were formed not by devitrification but by undercooling crystallization. This viewpoint is supported by results of undercooling crystallization experiments. The petrographic characteristics of these textures are satisfactorily demonstrated by the undercooling crystallization theory.
