Hippocampal neuronal loss causes cognitive dysfunction in Alzheimer’s *** hippocampal neurogenesis is reduced in patients with Alzheimer’s *** stimulates adult hippocampal neurogenesis in rodents and improves memory and slows cognitive decline in patients with Alzheimer’s ***,the molecular pathways for exercise-induced adult hippocampal neurogenesis and improved cognition in Alzheimer’s disease are poorly ***,regulator of G protein signaling 6(rGS6)was identified as the mediator of voluntary running-induced adult hippocampal neurogenesis in ***,we generated novel rGS6fl/fl;APP_(SWE) mice and used retroviral approaches to examine the impact of rGS6 deletion from dentate gyrus neuronal progenitor cells on voluntary running-induced adult hippocampal neurogenesis and cognition in an amyloid-based Alzheimer’s disease mouse *** found that voluntary running in APP_(SWE) mice restored their hippocampal cognitive impairments to that of control *** cognitive rescue was abolished by rGS6 deletion in dentate gyrus neuronal progenitor cells,which also abolished running-mediated increases in adult hippocampal *** hippocampal neurogenesis was reduced in sedentary APP_(SWE) mice versus control mice,with basal adult hippocampal neurogenesis reduced by rGS6 deletion in dentate gyrus neural precursor ***6 was expressed in neurons within the dentate gyrus of patients with Alzheimer’s disease with significant loss of these rGS6-expressing ***,rGS6 mediated voluntary running-induced rescue of impaired cognition and adult hippocampal neurogenesis in APP_(SWE) mice,identifying rGS6 in dentate gyrus neural precursor cells as a possible therapeutic target in Alzheimer’s disease.

BACKGrOUND Gamification,the use of game materials in education,has been used in several scientific fields,and studies have demonstrated its effectiveness in student *** To evaluate whether the success of 4th-and 5th-grade dentistry students increases when using the gamification applications Kahoot!and *** An experimental design was used to measure the effect of gamification applications on students who were taught using the traditional *** this purpose,mentimeter and Kahoot!applications were used in this experimental *** groups of 4th-and 5th-grade students were formed:mentimeter,Kahoot!,and control *** effect of gamification applications on achievement was evaluated by administering a post-test to these groups after the instructional ***-way analysis of variance and t-tests were used for statistical *** A total of 35.5%of the students were in the mentimeter group,29.8%in the Kahoot!group,and 34.6%in the control *** the total number of students,54.8%were female and 45.2%were male,while 52.2%were 5th-grade students and 47.8%were 4th-grade *** overall grade point average was found to be 66.65(range,24-100).There was a statistically significant difference in average success scores between students of different groups(P=0.003rades(P=0.036rage success score was the highest in the mentimeter group(71.64)and the lowest in the Kahoot!group(62.15).In the control group,this score was *** average success score was higher for students in the 5thgrade(68.16)and for female students(68.84).CONCLUSION Gamification has a great potential in the education of dentomaxillofacial radiology *** outperformed both the Kahoot!and the traditional method in terms of average student success rates.

In this study,a sequential process(heterotrophic up-flow column and completely mixed membrane bioreactors)was proposed combining advantages of the both *** system was operated for 249 days with simulated and real groundwater for nitrate removal at concentrations varying from 25 to 145 mg·L^(-1) NO_(3)^(-)-*** contribution of heterotrophic process to total nitrate removal in the system was controlled by dozing the ethanol considering the nitrate *** this way,sulfur based autotrophic denitrification rate was decreased and the effluent sulfate concentrations were *** alkalinity requirement in the autotrophic process was produced in the heterotrophic reactor,and the system was operated without alkalinity *** the study,the chemical oxygen demand in the heterotrophic reactor effluent was(23.7±22)mg L^(-1) and it was further decreased to(7.5±7.2)mg·L^(-1) in the system effluent,corresponding to a 70%*** the last period of the study,the real groundwater containing 145 mg·L^(-1) NO_(3)^(-)-N was completely *** was operated without chemical washing in the first 114 *** days 115-249 weekly chemical washing was required.

retrorectal(also known as presacral) tumor(rT) is a rare disease of retrorectal space. They can be classified as congenital, inflammatory, neurogenic, osseous, or miscellaneous. The most common presentation is an asymptomatic mass discovered on routine rectal examination, but certain nonspecific symptoms can be elicited by careful history and physical examination. The primary and only satisfactory treatment is surgery for rTs. Three approaches commonly used for resection are abdominal, transsacral, or a combined abdominosacral approach. Prognosis is directly related primary local control, which is often difficult to achieve for malignantlesions.

The leaching behavior of a copper flotation concentrate was investigated using ammonium persulfate （APS） in an autoclave systee. The decomposition products of APS, active oxygen, and acidic medium were used to extract metals from the concentrate. Leaching experiments were performed to compare the availability of APS as an oxidizing agent for leaching of the concentrate under atmospheric conditions and in an autoclave system. Leaching temperature and APS concentration were found to be important parameters in both leaching systems. Atmospheric leaching studies showed that the metal extractions increased with the increase in APS concentration and temperature （up to 333 K）. A similar tendency was determined in the autoclave studies up to 423 K. It was also determined that the metal extractions decreased at temperatures above 423 K due to the passivation of the particle surface by molten elemental sulfur. The results showed that higher copper extractions could be achieved using an autoclave system.

This study focuses on the nature of giant micas occurring at the contact between theÖzvatan(foid-bearing)syenites and the metamorphic basement in Central *** studied micas are dark greenish-black in color and crystallized within vein shape like bodies as a narrow *** origin and processes responsible for the formation of these independent crystals of the giant micas were investigated by mineralogical,petrographical and geochemical analyses with the use of Confocal raman Spectroscopy(CrS),Fourier Transform Infrared(FTIr)Spectroscopy,X-ray Diffraction(XrD),Polarized Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer(PED-XrF)and Electron Probe micro Analysis(EPmA).According to XrD,CrS,FTIr and EPmA data,the giant micas are *** results reveal that studied mica minerals represent the products of re-equilibrated primary mica characterized by high mgO and FeO and low Al2O3 and TiO2 *** trace element concentrations of the giant micas display similar patterns with the upper *** giant micas are crystallized within small cubicles from an alkaline magma and their composition is possibly modified by a mixing event between the crust-and mantle-derived magmas and contaminated at varying extent by the basement metamorphic rocks.

The dissolution of copper and iron from chalcopyrite concentrate in the presence of ammonium persulfate(APS)and ammonium hydroxide was investigated under atmospheric leaching *** were designed by central composite design(CCD).Under the optimum leaching conditions((NH4)2S2O8 concentration=328 g/L;NH4OH addition=16vol%;leaching temperature=321 K(48℃);leaching time=120 min;liquid-to-solid ratio=16;stirring speed=400 r/min),selective leaching was achieved.98.14%of the copper was leached,whereas iron did not pass into the solution.X-ray diffraction analysis of the leaching residue showed that iron compounds were *** the leaching results,the fact that the leaching process does not include uneconomical leaching stages such as extended milling/mechanical activation or high pressures/temperatures,and the low copper dissolution conditions,the attained selective leaching yield may be remarkable.

This study introduces the new results of a novel low-cost digital zenith camera system operated in Turkey that uses astronomical and geodetic ***,it is possible to determine deflections of the vertical(DoV)components by using a vast amount of information gathered from geo-referenced star images,tilt measurements,and Global Navigation Satellite System *** new design of an astro-geodetic camera system is used for calculating DoV components with 12 independent solutions on a test station in Istanbul,and additional observations were performed to investigate the external accuracy of the system on a test network.A specific leveling method is developed to align system toward the zenithal *** final results of the observations on a test station located in Istanbul indicate that the accuracy of the system is about±0.19 arc-seconds in latitude and±0.28 arc-seconds in longitude *** system has been further tested on a network with 4 control points that have averagely 20 km *** the test network,the root mean square of the average value of the vertical deflections is calculated as±0.36 ***,DoV components are compared with the values that are calculated using global geopotential models.
