Turned Trochoidal Disturbance on a Liquid Jet Surface

This paper shows that a turned trochoidal function disturbance may lead to peripheral drops production. The resulting model is used to describe that a turned trochoidal disturbance leads to peripheral drops production on the liquid jet surface without the necessity for superimposed disturbances. The trochoid is a non-unique parametric function. Only non-unique parametric functions disturbances may lead to peripheral drops production. The trochoidal function disturbance is decomposed to Fourier series. Every Fourier element receives an amplification factor in accordance to the Rayleigh inviscid jet model. Peripheral drops are received on the jet surface. The paper shows that all trochoidal disturbance functions, prolate cycloid, cycloid and curtate cycloid have a capability of peripheral drops producing. A limited capability of peripheral drops production is introduced for the trochoidal curtate cycloid. Produced drops size are reduced for increasing the jet velocity and wave number. Smaller drops are also received by transition from the prolate cycloid to curtate cycloid disturbance.

SN 2006oz is a super-luminous supernova with a mysterious bright precursor that has resisted explanation in standard ***,such a precursor has been predicted in the dual-shock quark nova model of super-luminous supernovae–the precursor is the supernova event while the main light curve of the super-luminous supernova is powered by the Quark-Nova（explosive transition of the neutron star to a quark star）.As the supernova is fading,the Quark-Nova re-energizes the supernova ejecta,producing a＂double-humped＂light *** show that the quark nova model successfully reproduces the observed light curve of SN 2006oz.

Presented are new images of supernova remnants G114.3±0.3, G116.5＋1.1 and G116.9＋0.2 （CTB 1） at 408 MHz from the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey （CGPS）. We also use the 1420 MHz images from the CGPS in a study of their 408-1420 MHz spectral indices. The flux densities at 408 MHz and 1420 MHz, corrected for flux densities from compact sources within the SNRs, are 12±6 Jy and 9.8±0.8 Jy for G114.3＋0.3, 15.0±1.5 Jy and 10.6±0.6 Jy for G116.5＋1.1, 15.0＋1.5 Jy and 8.1±0.4 Jy for Gl16.9＋0.2. The integrated flux density-based spectral indices （Sv∝v^-α） are α=0.16±0.41, 0.28±0.09 and 0.49±0.09 for G114.3＋0.3, G116.5＋1.1 and G116.9＋0.2, respectively. Their T-T plot-based spectral indices are 0.68±0.48, 0.28±0.15, and 0.48±0.04, in agreement with the integrated flux density-based spectral indices. New flux densities are derived at 2695 MHz which are significantly larger than previous values. The new 408, 1420 and 2695 MHz flux densities and published values at other frequencies, where images are not available, are fitted after correcting for contributions from compact sources, to derive their multi-frequency spectral indices.

In this paper, the authors prove an analogue of Gibbons' conjecture for the extended fourth order Allen-Cahn equation in R^N, as well as Liouville type results for some solutions converging to the same value at infinity in a given direction. The authors also prove a priori bounds and further one-dimensional symmetry and rigidity results for semilinear fourth order elliptic equations with more general nonlinearities.

By appealing to a quark nova(QN;the explosive transition of a neutron star to a quark star) in the wake of a core-collapse supernova(CCSN) explosion of a massive star,we develop a unified model for long duration gamma-ray bursts(LGRBs) and fast radio bursts(FRBs).The time delay(years to decades)between the SN and the QN,and the fragmented nature(i.e.,millions of chunks) of the relativistic QN ejecta are key to yielding a robust LGRB *** our model,an LGRB light curve exhibits the interaction of the fragmented QN ejecta with turbulent(i.e.,filamentary and magnetically saturated) SN ejecta which is shaped by its interaction with an underlying pulsar wind nebula(PWN).The afterglow is due to the interaction of the QN chunks,exiting the SN ejecta,with the surrounding *** model can fit BAT/XRT prompt and afterglow light curves simultaneously with their spectra,thus yielding the observed properties of LGRBs(e.g.,the Band function and the X-ray flares).We find that the peak luminositypeak photon energy relationship(i.e.,the Yonetoku law),and the isotropic energy-peak photon energy relationship(i.e.,the Amati law) are not fundamental but ***-like emission in our model results from coherent synchrotron emission(CSE) when the QN chunks interact with non-turbulent weakly magnetized PWN-SN ejecta,where conditions are prone to the Weibel *** field amplification induced by the Weibel instability in the shocked chunk frame sets the bunching length for electrons and pairs to radiate *** resulting emission frequency,luminosity and duration in our model are consistent with FRB *** find a natural unification of high-energy burst phenomena from FRBs(i.e.,those connected to CCSNe) to LGRBs including X-ray flashes(XRFs) and X-ray rich GRBs(XRR-GRBs) as well as superluminous SNe(SLSNe).We find a possible connection between ultra-high energy cosmic rays and FRBs and propose that a QN following a binary neutron star merger can yiel

The presence of water films on a runway surface presents a risk to the landing of *** tire of the aircraft is separated from the runway due to a hydrodynamic force exerted through the water film,a phenomenon called *** a lot of numerical investigations into hydroplaning have been conducted,only a few have considered the impact of the runway ***,computational problems,such as excessive distortion and computing efficiency decay,may arise with such numerical models when dealing with the thin water *** paper presents a numerical model comprising of the tire,water film,and the interaction with the runway,applying a mathematical model using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics and finite element(SPH-FE)*** material properties and geometric features of the tire model were included in the model framework and water film thicknesses from 0.75 mm to 7.5 mm were used in the numerical ***,this work investigated the impacts of both surface texture and the runway *** interaction between tire rubber and the rough runway was analyzed in terms of frictional force between the two *** SPH-FE model was validated with an empirical equation proposed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA).Then the computational efficiency of the model was compared with the traditional coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian(CEL)*** on the SPH-FE model,four types of the runway(Flat,SMA-13,AC-13,and OGFC-13)were *** simulation of the asphalt runway shows that the SMA-13,AC-13,and OGFC-13 do not present a hydroplaning risk when the runway permeability coefficient exceeds 6%.

The co-pyrolysis of coal and biomass has proven to be a promising route to produce liquid and gaseous fuels as well as specific value-added chemicals while contributing to mitigating CO_(2) *** interactions between the co-processed feedstocks,however,need to be elucidated to support the development of such a thermochemical conversion *** this context,the present work covers the kinetic analysis of the co-pyrolysis of a bituminous coal with poplar *** this research,biomass was blended with coal at two different mass ratios(10%(mass)and 20%(mass)).Thermogravimetric analyses were carried out with pure and blended samples at four heating rates(5,10,15 and 30℃·min^(-1)).A direct comparison of experimental and theoretical results(based on a simple additivity rule)failed to yield a clear-cut conclusion regarding the existence of synergistic *** analyses have therefore been achieved using two model-free methods(the Ozawa-Flynn-Wall and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose models)to estimate the rate constant parameters related to the pyrolysis process.A significant decrease of the activation energy has thus been observed when adding wood to coal(activation energies associated with the blend containing 20%(mass)of biomass being even lower than those estimated for pure wood at low conversion degrees).This trend was attributed to the possible presence of synergies whose related mechanisms are *** rate constant parameters derived by means of the two tested models were finally used to simulate the evolution of the conversion degree of each sample as a function of the temperature,thus leading to a satisfying agreement between measured and simulated data.

Background:Active videogames or exergames have been used as an innovative way to promote physical activity(PA)among various populations.A player’s interest in active videogames is associated with the fun and entertaining nature of the games and may trigger situational interest,thus increasing *** goal of this study was to examine the impact of situational interest dimensions on college students’PA when playing the design-based bike exergame Greedy Rabbit(Vescape,Berlin,Germany).Methods:Sixty undergraduate students(age:20.8±1.3 years,mean±SD,18-25 years old;51.7%males)were recruited from the kinesiology department of a university located in the southern region of *** participants were assigned to an experimental group(n=41)or a control group(n=19)based on an incremental cycling *** in the experimental group engaged in 1 session of Greedy Rabbit(Vescape)while students in the control group engaged in 1 session of a placebo version of Greedy Rabbit(Vescape).The length of the sessions ranged from 24 min to 31 ***:Results for the control group indicated that the players’PA metrics(cadence:F(19,360)=1.43,p=0.11;heart rate:F(19.360)=1.16,p=0.29;oxygen consumption:F(19,360)=0.83,p=0.67)were stable during the *** for the experimental group demonstrated the effects of time on the players’PA metrics and revealed significant associations between the change in the players’situational interest dimensions and PA metrics(cadence:F(19,800)=26.30,p<0.01;heart rate:F(19,800)=19.77,p<0.01;oxygen consumption:F(19,800)=10.04,p<0.01).Conclusion:An approach using a design-based exergame may be a relevant strategy for promoting levels of PA that yields positive health-related outcomes among college students.
