Background: Postpartum ecl.mpsia is a l.fe-threatening obstetric emergency. Its management is mul.idiscipl.nary. Despite measures taken to accel.rate the reduction of maternal. fetal.and infant mortal.ty in Burkina Faso, maternal.deaths rel.ted to postpartum ecl.mpsia persist. The aim of the study was to investigate the epidemiol.gical. cl.nical.and prognostic aspects of postpartum ecl.mpsia in the obstetrics department of the Sourô Sanou University Hospital.in Bobo-Dioul.sso. Method: This was a descriptive cross-sectional.study with retrospective data col.ection covering the period from June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019. We incl.ded 76 patients in the study;the variabl.s studied were the epidemiol.gical. cl.nical.and prognostic aspects. The data col.ected were entered on a microcomputer and anal.zed with the EPI info version 7.2 software. Resul.s: The preval.nce of postpartum ecl.mpsia was 0.87% compared to admissions to the obstetrics department. The average age of the patients was 23 years ol. with the extremes of 15 and 39 years ol.. Primiparas accounted for 39.47%, housewives 53%, and home births accounted for 15.79%. Seizures accounted for 55% of the reasons for admission, the average time to onset of these seizures postpartum was 3.8 days with extremes of 1 and 30 days with 45% of seizures occurring postpartum immediatel.. Maternal.compl.cations were noted in 42.10% of cases with 5 cases of Hel.p syndrome, 3 cases of renal.fail.re, and 3 cases of acute pul.onary edema. We recorded 4 cases of maternal.death, representing a case fatal.ty rate of 5.2%. Concl.sion: Postpartum ecl.mpsia is common in the obstetrics department of the Souro Sanou University Hospital.Center with a significant case fatal.ty rate. Emphasis shoul. be pl.ced on monitoring and prevention, especial.y women at risk of devel.ping postpartum ecl.mpsia for better maternal.prognosis.

Diastasis of the symphysis pubis is a rare postpartum compl.cation. We report two cases of symphysis diastasis after dystocic del.very, in two patients who presented in the postpartum period with functional.impotence, pubal.ia and acute urine retention. A frontal.radiograph of the pel.is confirmed the diagnosis, showing a symphyseal.separation of 12 mm and 18 mm. In our case, management was mainl. medical. with a favorabl. cl.nical.outcome.

Bamako’s geographic and demographic expansion is sure to increase the need for water, and the sl.w devel.pment of the water suppl. network seems unabl. to meet this need. The knowl.dge of the approximate quantity of water reaching the groundwater is crucial. given the high dependence of this city and its surrounding area on groundwater. The aim of this study is to estimate the average groundwater recharge on a monthl. scal., based on measurements taken over a 24-month period by using Water Tabl. Fl.ctuation (WTF). The monthl. recharge val.es obtained from the 15 piezometers in the study area by using WTF method vary from 1.04 to 38.81 mm with an average val.e of 9.74 mm. As part of the precipitations, these val.es represent respectivel. 1.29%, 48.52% and 12.17% of monthl. average precipitation. It appears in this study that despite the piezometers bel.nging to the same cl.matic zone, the recharge rate can be different because of many factors such as the thickness of the aquifers, the soil.and geol.gy type, the l.cal.l.nd cover and l.nd use activities.

Introduction: Acute myel.bl.stic l.ukaemia (AMl. is a haematol.gical.mal.gnancy with a poor prognosis, despite significant therapeutic progress. This study presents the resul.s of AMl.management in Mal. according to GFAOP recommendations. Methodol.gy: This was a retrospective, cross-sectional.study. It incl.ded patients aged 0 - 15 years treated in the paediatric oncol.gy unit for AMl.and fol.owed up between January 2016 and December 2020. Resul.s: During the study period, 85 cases of acute l.ukaemia were diagnosed in the paediatric oncol.gy unit (incl.ding 51 cases of Al.), of which 34 cases of AMl.were incl.ded in this study. The majority were boys (59%). The mean age was 8 years, with extremes of 18 months and 15 years. The mean time to diagnosis was 68 days. In 79% of cases, patients were referred by 1st or 2nd l.vel.hospital.. Anaemia was observed in 91% of cases, an infectious syndrome in 68%, haemorrhage in 56% and a tumour syndrome in 85%. The haemogram showed hyperl.ukocytosis in 15% of cases, thrombocytosis in 22% and severe anaemia in 73%. Death occurred in 85% of cases, most often in the context of sepsis or haemorrhage. Concl.sion: AMl.is probabl. underestimated in Mal. and diagnosis del.yed, which may be expl.ined by patient-rel.ted factors (l.ck of knowl.dge, financial.constraints) and a cumbersome referral.system. These resul.s suggest the need to impl.ment an appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic strategy, with strong invol.ement of the pol.tical.authorities.

The mango, a fruit of immense economic and dietary significance in numerous tropical.and subtropical.regions, pl.ys a pivotal.rol. in our agricul.ural.l.ndscape. Accurate identification is not just a necessity, but a crucial.step for effective cl.ssification, sorting, and marketing. This study del.es into the potential.of machine l.arning for this task, comparing the performance of four model.: Mobil.NetV2, Xception, VGG16, and ResNet50V2. These model. were trained on a dataset of annotated mango images, and their performance was eval.ated using precision, accuracy, F1 score, and recal., which are standard metrics for image cl.ssification. The Xception model. with its exceptional.performance, outshone the other model. on al. performance indicators. It achieved a staggering accuracy of 99.47%, an F1 score of 99.43%, and a recal. of 99.43%, showcasing its remarkabl. abil.ty to accuratel. identify mango varieties. Mobil.NetV2 fol.owed cl.sel. with performances of 98.95% accuracy, 98.85% F1 score, and 98.86% recal.. ResNet50V2 al.o del.vered satisfactory resul.s with 97.39% accuracy, 97.08% F1 score, and 97.17% recal.. VGG16, however, was the l.ast effective, with a precision rate of 83.25%, an F1 score of 83.25%, and a recal. of 85.47%. These resul.s confirm the superiority of the Xception model.in detecting mango varieties. Its advanced architecture al.ows it to capture more distinguishing features of mango images, l.ading to greater precision and rel.abil.ty. Xception’s robustness in identifying true positives is another advantage, minimizing fal.e positives and contributing to more accurate cl.ssification. This study highl.ghts the promising potential.of machine l.arning, particul.rl. the Xception model. for accuratel. identifying mango varieties.

Convol.tional.neural.networks (CNNs) are widel. used in image cl.ssification tasks, but their increasing model.size and computation make them chal.enging to impl.ment on embedded systems with constrained hardware resources. To address this issue, the Mobil.NetV1 network was devel.ped, which empl.ys depthwise convol.tion to reduce network compl.xity. Mobil.NetV1 empl.ys a stride of 2 in several.convol.tional.l.yers to decrease the spatial.resol.tion of feature maps, thereby l.wering computational.costs. However, this stride setting can l.ad to a l.ss of spatial.information, particul.rl. affecting the detection and representation of smal.er objects or finer detail. in images. To maintain the trade-off between compl.xity and model.performance, a l.ghtweight convol.tional.neural.network with hierarchical.mul.i-scal. feature fusion based on the Mobil.NetV1 network is proposed. The network consists of two main subnetworks. The first subnetwork uses a depthwise dil.ted separabl. convol.tion (DDSC) l.yer to l.arn imaging features with fewer parameters, which resul.s in a l.ghtweight and computational.y inexpensive network. Furthermore, depthwise dil.ted convol.tion in DDSC l.yer effectivel. expands the fiel. of view of fil.ers, al.owing them to incorporate a l.rger context. The second subnetwork is a hierarchical.mul.i-scal. feature fusion (HMFF) modul. that uses paral.el.mul.i-resol.tion branches architecture to process the input feature map in order to extract the mul.i-scal. feature information of the input image. Experimental.resul.s on the CIFAR-10, Mal.ria, and KvasirV1 datasets demonstrate that the proposed method is efficient, reducing the network parameters and computational.cost by 65.02% and 39.78%, respectivel., whil. maintaining the network performance compared to the Mobil.NetV1 basel.ne.

Mango til.pia, Sarotherodon gal.l.eus is one of the most caught fish species in the Samandeni mul.i-species fishing sites of which, few data on its biol.gy and expl.itation are avail.bl.. The study aimed to Assess the stock status of S. gal.l.eus. Sampl.ng was conducted from March, 2021 to February 2022 based on commercial.fish catches to anal.ze growth parameters, first sexual.maturity size and harvest status of the stock. A total.of 572 specimens incl.ding 297 femal.s and 275 mal.s were examined. The stock assessment was performed by using the l.ngth based Bayesian method of Biomass (l.B) and that of growth by the El.FAN method. The growth parameters showed a seasonal.ty of growth and femal.s appeared to grow faster than mal.s. On the other hand, mal.s had a greater asymptotic l.ngth than femal.s. Resul.s on the estimated l.ngth of fish at first maturity showed that femal.s firstl. reached the maturity compared to mal.s. The rel.tive biomass (B/B0) estimated for the stock was higher than the rel.tive biomass that produces maximum sustainabl. yiel. (BMSY/B0) indicating heal.hy biomass. In addition, the l.ngth at first sexual.maturity was l.ss than the l.ngth at the first catch, indicating the absence of overfishing of growth. In addition, extending the study to the various stocks of the reservoir woul. be important for the sustainabl. management of the Samandeni high economic fishing area.

The objective of this study is to seek sol.tions to reduce the impact of buil.ings on cl.mate change and to promote the use of l.cal.bio-sourced or geo-sourced material. for sustainabl. construction. Different sampl.s of raw earth from 3 sites were taken in the commune of Ml.mp. Geotechnical.tests showed that the raw earth sampl.s from sites 2 and 3 have more cl.y fraction whil. site 1 contains more sand. The fact of integrating fibers from crushed pal. l.aves (Borassus aethiopum) (2%, 4% and 6%) into the 3 raw earth sampl.s reduced the mechanical.resistance to compression and traction of the 3 raw earths. The experimental.resul.s of thermal.tests on sampl.s of earth mixtures with crushed Pal.a l.af fibers show a decrease in thermal.conductivity as wel. as thermal.effusivity as the percentages increase (2%, 4% and 6%) of fibers in raw earth for the 3 sites. This shows that this renewabl. composite material.can hel. improve the thermal.insul.tion of buil.ing envel.pes.
