Emerging 5G communication solutions utilize the millimeter wave(mmWave)band to alleviate the spectrum *** the mmWave range,Multiple Input Multiple Output(MIMO)technologies support a large number of simultaneous *** mmWave MIMO wireless systems,hybrid analog/digital precoding topologies provide a reduced complexity substitute for digital *** Error Rate(BER)and Spectral efficiency performances can be improved by hybrid Minimum Mean Square Error(MMSE)precoding,but the computation involves matrix inversion *** number of antennas at the broadcasting and receiving ends is quite large for mm-wave MIMO systems,thus computing the inverse of a matrix of such high dimension may not be practically *** to the need for matrix inversion and known candidate matrices,the classic Orthogonal Matching Pursuit(OMP)approach will be more *** novelty of research presented in this manuscript is to create a hybrid precoder for mmWave communication systems using metaheuristic algorithms that do not require matrix inversion *** metaheuristic approach has not employed much in the formulation of a precoder in wireless *** distinct evolutionary algorithms,such as Harris–Hawks Optimization(HHO),Runge–Kutta Optimization(RUN),Slime Mould Algorithm(SMA),Hunger Game Search(HGS)Algorithm and Aquila Optimizer(AO)are considered to design optimal hybrid precoder for downlink transmission and their performances are tested under similar practical *** to simulation studies,the RUN-based precoder performs better than the conventional algorithms and other nature-inspired algorithms based precoding in terms of spectral efficiency and BER.

The Moth Flame Optimization(MFO)algorithm shows decent performance results compared to other meta-heuristic algorithms for tackling non-linear constrained global optimization ***,it still suffers from obtaining quality solution and slow convergence *** the other hand,the Butterfly Optimization Algorithm(BOA)is a comparatively new algorithm which is gaining its popularity due to its simplicity,but it also suffers from poor exploitation *** this study,a novel hybrid algorithm,h-MFOBOA,is introduced,which integrates BOA with the MFO algorithm to overcome the shortcomings of both the algorithms and at the same time inherit their *** performance evaluation,the proposed h-MFOBOA algorithm is applied on 23 classical benchmark functions with varied *** tested results of the proposed algorithm are compared with some well-known traditional meta-heuristic algorithms as well as MFO *** rank test and Wilcoxon signed rank test are employed to measure the performance of the newly introduced algorithm *** computational complexity has been ***,the proposed algorithm has been applied to solve one constrained and one unconstrained real-life problems to examine its problem-solving capability of both type of *** comparison results of benchmark functions,statistical analysis,real-world problems confirm that the proposed h-MFOBOA algorithm provides superior results compared to the other conventional optimization algorithms.

Damage caused due to low-velocity impacts in composites leads to substantial deterioration in their residual strength and eventually provokes structural *** work presents an experimental investigation on the effects of different patch and parent laminate stacking sequences on the enhancement of impact strength of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers(CFRP)composites by utilising the adhesively bonded external patch repair *** evolution study is also performed with the aid of Acoustic Emission(AE).Two different quasi-isotropic configurations were selected for the parent laminate,viz.,[45°/45°/0°/0°]s and[45°/0°/45°/0°]*** Static Indentation(QSI)test was performed on both the pristine laminates,and damage areas were detected by using the C-scan inspection *** laminates were repaired by using a single-sided patch of two different configurations,viz.,[45°/45°/45°/45°]and[45°/0°/0°/45°],and employing a circular plug to fill the damaged *** different combinations of repaired laminates with two configurations of each parent and patch laminate were produced,which were further subjected to the QSI *** results reveal the effectiveness of the repair method,as all the repaired laminates show higher impact resistance compared to the respective pristine *** of[45°/0°/0°/45°]configuration when repaired by taking[45°/45°/0°/0°]s and[45°/0°/45°/0°]s as parents exhibited 68%and 73%higher peak loads,respectively,than the respective pristine ***,parent and patch of configuration[45°/0°/45°/0°]s and[45°/0°/0°/45°],respectively,attain the highest peak load,whereas[45°/45°/0°/0°]s and[45°/45°/45°/45°]combinations possess the most gradual decrease in the load.

The estimation of sequence or symmetrical components and frequency in three-phase unbalanced power system is of great importance for protection and *** paper proposes a new H∞filter based on sparse model to track the sequence components and the frequency of three-phase unbalanced power *** inclusion of sparsity improves the error convergence behavior of estimation model and hence short-duration non-stationary PQ events can easily be tracked in the time *** proposed model is developed using l1 norm penalty in the cost function of H∞filter,which is quite suitable for estimation across all the three phases of an unbalanced *** model uses real state space modeling across three phases to estimate amplitude and phase parameters of sequence ***,frequency estimation uses complex state space modeling and Clarke transformation generates a complex measurement signal from the unbalanced three-phase *** state vector used for frequency estimation consists of two state *** proposed sparse model is tested using distorted three-phase signals from IEEE-1159-PQE database and the data generated from experimental laboratory *** analysis of absolute and mean square error is presented to validate the performance of the proposed model.

Moth Flame Optimization(MFO)is a nature-inspired optimization algorithm,based on the principle of navigation technique of moth toward *** to less parameter and easy implementation,MFO is used in various field to solve optimization ***,for the complex higher dimensional problems,MFO is unable to make a good trade-off between global and local *** overcome these drawbacks of MFO,in this work,an enhanced MFO,namely WF-MFO,is introduced to solve higher dimensional optimization *** a more optimal balance between global and local search,the original MFO’s exploration ability is improved by an exploration operator,namely,Weibull flight *** addition,the local optimal solutions have been avoided and the convergence speed has been increased using a Fibonacci search process-based technique that improves the quality of the solutions ***-nine benchmark functions of varying complexity with 1000 and 2000 dimensions have been utilized to verify the projected *** popular algorithms and MFO versions have been compared to the achieved *** addition,the robustness of the proposed WF-MFO method has been evaluated using the Friedman rank test,the Wilcoxon rank test,and convergence *** to other methods,the proposed WF-MFO algorithm provides higher quality solutions and converges more quickly,as shown by the ***,the proposed WF-MFO has been used to the solution of two engineering design issues,with striking *** improved performance of the proposed WF-MFO algorithm for addressing larger dimensional optimization problems is guaranteed by analyses of numerical data,statistical tests,and convergence performance.

To estimate the required support pressure for stability of circular tunnels in two layered clay under undrained condition,numerical solutions are developed by performing finite element lower bound limit analysis in conjunction with second-order cone *** support system is assumed to offer uniform internal compressive pressure on its *** the literature,it is known that the stability of tunnels depends on the overburden pressure acting over it,which is a function of undrained cohesion and unit weight of soil,and cover of *** a tunnel is constructed in layered undrained clay,the stability depends on the undrained shear strength,unit weight,and thickness of one layer relative to the other *** the present study,the solutions are presented in a form of dimensionless charts which can be used for design of tunnel support systems for different combinations of ratios of unit weight and undrained shear strength of upper layer to those of lower layer,thickness of both layers,and total soil cover depth.

Impact of anthropogenic disturbance on species diversity and vegetation structure of a lowland tropical rainforest was studied in the foothills of Eastern Himalaya, India. Tree species richness,density, basal area and the diversity indices were found significantly(P100 cm dbh class in all three sites. Density of the matured trees decreased with increasing DBH whereas, tree basal area tended to increase with increasing DBH in all three sites. Tree species richness was highest in the lower DBH classes.62.07% of the total tree species regenerated in the largely undisturbed site followed by 50% in the mildly disturbed and 26.32% in the highly disturbed *** overall regeneration condition was found to be good in the largely undisturbed site. Mildly disturbed site exhibited fair regeneration and so was in the highly disturbed site. Discernable variations in species composition, diversity, regeneration and tree population structure revealed the impact of anthropogenic disturbances on rainforest vegetation dynamics. Higher degree of disturbance was furtherly found not only affecting species diversity but also promoting the growth of invasive weed *** of Hydnocarpus kurzii and Crypteronia paniculata in the highly disturbed site also indicated that these les
