Tillage plays an important role in modifying soil hydraulic *** objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of conservation tillage practices in a maize-wheat cropping system on nearsaturated soil hydraulic properties and pore characteristics in the North-West Himalayan region,*** treatments *** tillage(CT),minimum tillage(MT),and zero tillage(ZT)were evaluated in terms of field saturated hydraulic conductivity(ks),unsaturated hydraulic conductivity k(h),the inverse of capillary length(a),flow-weighted mean pore radius(r0),numbers of pores per square meter(n0)and water-conducting macroporosity(Ɛ).The above hydraulic conductivity and pore characteristics were derived from steady-state water flux(q)measured using hood infiltrometer at 0,1,and3 cm pressure head for each treatment after seven years of establishment of this tillage *** revealed significantly(p0.50 mm conducted about 63.60,68.01,and 75.97%of total flow(at 0 cm pressure head)in the corresponding water-conducting macroporosity of 0.00030,0.00044,and 0.00069%of soil volume under CT,MT,and ZT,***,zero-tillage based agriculture system was found to improve near-saturated soil hydraulic properties.

This paper presents an approach for oscillation damping with an integrated multi-stage linear quadratic regulator(MSLQR)FACTS controller combining power oscillation damping(POD)*** particle swarm optimization(PSO)technique has been used for precise tuning initial control parameters of power system stabilizers(PSS)and FACTS devices(such as STATCOM and UPFC)which results in improved controller *** is observed that the proposed control structure damps the oscillations adequately and is modular in design *** sample power system comprising six areas is considered to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed *** states inter-relation which is shown with eigenvalues reflects better regulation with the proposed *** step response also validates the controller performance.

Biosensor development has recently advanced as a result of their strong and indisputable uses as analytical methods in a variety of sectors,including medicine,food industry,environmental monitoring,metabolism,agriculture,military,and *** popularity of biosensors as devices for a variety of applications may be ascribed to their distinct advantages of fast or rapid analysis,high sensitivity,minimal sample demand and preparation,and no need for the specific skill of operation that traditional analytical procedures *** attempted to update earlier studies in this study by incorporating other materials that have been in use but have received less attention,such as carbon nano-onions(CNOs),metal-organic frameworks(moFs),and biopolymers for biosensor manufacturing and design based on their unique *** assessment also took into account applicable applications in many *** considerable progress has been made in the application of biosensors,there is still a need for research development and enhancement,particularly in transforming most of the laboratory experiments that have already been published into portable on-site and implementable in the public domains.

The term Kriyakala refers to the recognition of the stage of a disease＇s progress, which helps to determine appropriate measure to correct the imbalance in Doshas （biological factors）. It is a compound expression, comprised of Kriya and Kala, where Kriya means the choice to treatment （medicine, food and daily-routine） used to improve the disturbance in Doshas, and Kala refers to the stage of progress of a disease. Sushruta, an ancient Indian surgeon, has described the concept of Kriyakala in Vamaprashnadhyaya, an ancient Vedic Sanskrit text, which seeks to explain the incidence of Vamas in terms of Doshic disturbances. Vama, in modern parlance, may be described as an inflammatory process that may lead ulceration and chronic inflammation, promoting all stages of carcinogenesis. Abnormal interactions between Prakriti （genotype） and environmental factors vitiate the Doshas and impair immunity, which can lead to aberrant cell growth and cancer. moreover, the interaction between vitiated Doshas and weak Dhatus （body tissues） manifests as cancers of a specific organ. Shatkriyakala （six stages of progress of a disease）, on the other hand, provides a framework to assess the cancer and its pathogenesis in different stages. According to Ayurvedic concepts, all cancer therapies treat the affected tissues indirectly by eliminating vitiated Doshas, rejuvenating Dhatus and restoring immunity in cancer patients. The present review describes the six stages of Shatkriyakala in detail, with an emphasis on research areas to validate the concept of Shatkriyakala. This traditional knowledge can be utilized with modern technologies to detect predisposition for cancer or diagnose cancer in its early stages.

A novel bacteriohopanoid elucidated as 3fl-hydroxy-35-（cyclohexyl-5′-propan-7′-one）-33-ethyl-34-methyl-bactereohopane （1） has been isolated from the bark of Celtis australis （Ulmaceae） together with three known compounds apigenin, quercetin and its glucoside. The structure of 1 was characterized by means of chemical and spectral methods including advanced 2D NMR studies.

Circadian clocks time developmental stages of fruit flies Drosophila melanogaster, while light/dark （LD） cycles delimit emergence of adults, conceding only during the ＂allowed gate.＂ Previous studies have revealed that time-to-emergence can be altered by mutations in the core clock gene period （per）, or by altering the length of LD cycles. Since this evidence came from studies on genetically manipulated flies, or on flies maintained under LD cycles with limited range of periods, inferences that can be drawn are limited. moreover, the extent of shortening or lengthening of time-to-emergence re- mains yet unknown. In order to pursue this further, we assayed time-to-emergence of D. rnelanogaster under 12 different LD cycles as well as in constant light （LL） and constant dark conditions （DD）. Time-to-emergence in flies occurred earlier under LL than in LD cycles and DD. Among the LD cycles, time-to-emergence occurred earlier under T4-T8, followed by T36-T48, and then T12-T32, suggesting that egg-to-emergence duration in flies becomes shorter when the length of LD cycles deviates from 24 h, bearing a strong positive and a marginally negative correlation with day length, for values shorter and longer than 24 h, respectively. These results suggest that the extent of mismatch between the period of circadian clocks and environmental cycles determines the time-to-emergence in Drosophila.

BACKGROUND Platelet transfusion in acute variceal bleeding(AVB)is recommended by few guidelines and is common in routine clinical practice,even though the effect of thrombocytopenia and platelet transfusion on the outcomes of AVB is *** To determine how platelet counts,platelets transfusions,and fresh frozen plasma transfusions affect the outcomes of AVB in cirrhosis patients in terms of bleeding control,rebleeding,and *** Prospectively maintained database was used to analyze the outcomes of cirrhosis patients who presented with *** outcomes were assessed as the risk of rebleeding at days 5 and 42,and risk of death at day 42,considering the platelet counts and platelet *** score matching(PSM)was used to compare the outcomes in those who received platelet *** comparisons were done using Kaplan-Meier curves with log-rank tests and Coxproportional hazard model for rebleeding and for 42-d *** The study included 913 patients,with 83.5%men,median age 45 years,and model for End-stage Liver Disease score *** count50×10^(9)/L were found in 23(2.5%),168(18.4%),and 722(79.1%)patients,*** rates were similar between the three platelet groups on days 5 and 42(13%,6.5%,and 4.7%,respectively,on days 5,P=0.150;and 21.7%,17.3%,and 14.4%,respectively,on days 42,P=0.433).At day 42,the mortality rates for the three platelet groups were also similar(13.0%,23.2%,and 17.2%,respectively,P=0.153).On PSM analysis patients receiving platelets transfusions(n=89)had significantly higher rebleeding rates on day 5(14.6%vs 4.5%;P=0.039)and day 42(32.6%vs 15.7%;P=0.014),compared to those who didn'*** mortality rates were also higher among patients receiving platelets(25.8%vs 23.6%;P=0.862),although the difference was not *** multivariate analysis,platelet transfusion and not platelet count,was independently associated with 42-d *** e

Despite the improvement in sensing technologies, detection of small and highly reactive molecules like formaldehyde remains a highly challenging area of research. Applications of nanomaterials/nanostructures and their composites have increased as effective sensing platforms (e.g., reaction time, sensitivity, and selectivity) for the detection of aqueous or gaseous formaldehyde based on diverse sensing principles. In this review, the basic aspects of important nanomaterial-based sensing systems (e.g., electrochemical, electrical, biological, and mass variation sensors) were evaluated in relation to performance, cost, and practicality of sensing gas phase formaldehyde. Accordingly, existing knowledge gaps in such applications were assessed in various respects along with suitable recommendations for building a new roadmap for the expansion of chemical sensing technology of gas phase formaldehyde.

The mechanical behavior of 2124 Al alloy produced by powder metallurgy was investigated with compression test at different temperatures and strain rates. The tests were performed in the temperature range of 300℃～500℃ and at strain rates from 0.001 s^-1 to 1.0 s^-1. The compression flow curves exhibited an initial sharp increase with strain, followed by monotonous hardening. The maximum stress decreased with decreasing strain rate and increasing temperature. The hot deformation characteristics of the material were studied using processing maps. The domain of safety and unsafe regime were identified and validated through microstructural examination.
