This paper gives the simple and logical approach of LP modes in circular and elliptical waveguides. Earlier the basic approach of modes in circular and elliptical fibers was studied by the authors. In this paper, the role of radial antinode in circular and elliptical waveguides is given clearly. Splitting of modes in circular and elliptical fiber has been discussed.

End-stage liver disease(ESLD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality amongst human immunodeficiency virus(hIV)-positive individuals. Chronic hepatitis b and hepatitis C virus(hCV) infection,drug-induced hepatotoxicity related to combined antiretro-viral therapy,alcohol related liver disease and non-alcohol related fatty liver disease appear to be the leading causes. It is therefore,anticipated that more hIV-positive patients with ESLD will present as potential transplant candidates. hIV infection is no longer a contraindication to liver transplantation. Key transplantation outcomes such as rejection and infection rates as well as medium term graft and patient survival match those seen in the non-hIV infected patients in the absence of co-existing hCV infection. hIV disease does not seem to be negatively impacted by transplantation. however,hIV-hCV coinfection transplant outcomes remain suboptimal due to recurrence. In this article,we review the key challenges faced by this patient cohort in the pre- and posttransplant period.

background:Myanmar lies in the Greater Mekong sub-region of South-East Asia faced with the challenge of emerging resistance to artemisinin combination therapies(ACT).Migrant populations are more likely than others to spread ACT resistance.A vital intervention to reduce malaria transmission,resistance spread and eliminate malaria is the use of bed *** seasonal and stable migrants in an artemisinin resistance containment region of Myanmar,we compared a)their household characteristics,b)contact with health workers and information material,and c)household knowledge,access and utilization of bed ***:Secondary data from community-based surveys on 2484 migrant workers(2013 and 2014,bago Region)were analyzed of which 37%were seasonal *** net access and utilization were assessed using a)availability of at least one bed net per household,and b)one bed net per two persons,and c)proportion of household members who slept under abed net during the previous night(Indicator targets=100%).Results:Over 70%of all migrants were from unstable work settings with short transitory *** household size was five(range 1-25)and almost half of all households had children under-five *** 10%of migrants were night-time *** than 40%of households had contact with health workers and less than 30%had exposure to information education and communication(IEC)materials,the latter being significantly lower among seasonal *** 70%of households were aware of the importance of insecticide-treated bed-nets/long-lasting insecticidal nets(ITNs/LLINs),but knowledge on insecticide impregnation and retreatment of ITNs was poor(hough over 95%of households had access to at least one bed net,the number with one bed net per two persons was grossly inadequate(13%for stable migrants and 9%for seasonal migrants,P=0.001).About half of all household members slept under a bed net during the previous ***:This study reveals important short-fa

Malaria is a parasitic and vector determined blood-conceived infectious disease transmitted through infected mosquitoes. Anti-malarial drug resistance is a major health problem, which hinders the control of malaria. A Results of a survey of drug-resistant malaria demonstrated safe proclivity to nearby all anti-malarial regimes accessible except from artemisinin and its derivatives. Artemether is a bCS class IV drug effective against acute and severe falciparum malaria;hence there is a strong need to improve its solubility. Silica is one of the most widely studied excipients. Silica can be used in solubility enhancement by preparing its solid solution/dispersion with the drug. The objective of this research was to improve dissolution rate of Artemether using non-precipitated porous silica(Aeroperl 300 Pharma) and precipitated silica like EXP. 9555, EXP. 9560, and EXP. 9565. Specific surface area calculated from bET method of porous silicas viz. APL 300(A), Exp. 9555(b), Exp. 9560(C), Exp. 9565(D) was found to be 294.13 m^2/g(A), 256.02 m^2/g(b), 213.62 m^2/g(C) and 207.22 m^2/g(D) *** drug release from the developed formulation was found to be significantly higher as compared to neat ARM. This improved solubility and release kinetics of ARM may be attributed to high surface area, improved wettability and decreased crystallinity. Solid-state characterization of the developed optimized formulation F3 was carried out with respect to FTIR chemical imaging, XRD,SEM, and DSC. All the porous silicas which we have explored in the present context showed a significant capability as a carrier for solubility enhancement of ARM.

Fermat’s last theorem, had the statement that there are no natural numbers A, b, and C such that An + bn = Cn, in which n is a natural number greater than 2. We have shown that any product of two odd numbers can generate Fermat or Pythagoras triple (A, b, C) following n = 2 and also it is applicable A2 + b2 + C2 + D2 + so on =Ab>nb>2 where all are natural numbers.

Coronary artery fistulas are abnormal connections between coronary artery territories and cardiac chambers or major vessels,most of them are *** with coronary artery fistula can be asymptomatic or present with different symptoms like *** computed tomography(CT)is one of the best modalities for *** present an elderly patient that presented with angina symptoms,non invasive stress test was positive for ischemic heart disease,coronary angiogram could not reveal any obstructive lesions,but an abnormal branch of the left descending coronary artery(LAD),cardiac CT showed fistula that connect left anterior descending coronary artery to left superior pulmonary *** case is extremely rare as most of the reported cases were fistulas between LAD and pulmonary artery,but in our case the fistula between LAD and left superior pulmonary *** addition,our patients’symptoms resolved with anti-ischemic medical treatment without any surgical intervention.

Current evidence of concept analyses recommending nanotechnology for biomedical uses abounds in recent research. The area of biotechnology interfaces with nanostructures, reconfigures their composition, and alters their characteristics;which influences the dispersion of the particles, the biotransformation they cause, and their potential toxic effect. It is vital to link the idea of the lifecycle of nanostructures to the biological impacts and use methodologies to identify, estimate, and track the gradual bioprocessing of nanostructures in vivo, from a body-wide level to a nanoscopic size. This is necessary because understanding how nanostructures processing, degradation, persistence, and recycling predict potential exposure risks. The safe implementation of nanotechnology-based products in biomedical applications necessitates an extensive understanding of the recycling and transformations of nanomaterials in a living organism. Long-term fate in the body is crucial, as it governs potential environmental risks to human health. Strategies may be used to manage the long-term outcome of nanostructures in an organism since, in addition to composition, their design also affects how long they last and how easily they degrade. The lifespan of nanoparticles, a flexible and biocompatible category of nanostructures that have made it into clinical trials, is the subject of this article. Strategies may be used to manage the long-term outcome of nanoparticles in an organism since, in addition to composition, their design also affects how long they last and how easily they degrade. This review explained the safety of nanoscale materials, biotransformation, and the multifunctional recycling mechanism of nanostructures.

Glycemic Index of a Diabetes-Specific Nutritional Powder: An Open-Label Study in healthy Indian Adults

background: A balanced diet with a low glycemic index (GI) plays an important role in controlling and managing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). here, we compared the GI of 2 flavors (vanilla and chocolate) of diabetes-specific nutritional (DSN) supplements to its comparator in healthy Indian adults under fasting conditions. Methods: This study was a 39-day open-label, non-comparative, single-center trial involving healthy adults aged between 18 to 45 years. The subjects received equal doses of 2 DSN powder (Treatments A and b), the comparator product (Treatment C), and dextrose monohydrate as a reference (Treatment R). Doses were administered as per the dosing schedule, after an overnight fast for 10 hours, with 2 intervening non-dosing days. blood samples were collected on the dosing days to assess changes in capillary blood glucose levels. The primary endpoint of the study was the mean GI of Treatments A, b, and C (Defined as low: GI ≤ 55;medium: 55 GI ≤ 70;high: GI > 70), generated using the incremental area under the curve (AUCb>ib>) methodology. Safety was assessed throughout the study. Values of all study parameters were represented in ±SD or standard deviation. Results: Fourteen adult male subjects with a mean age of 29.42 ± 4.46 years, and a body mass index of 22.0 ± 1.95 Kg/m2, were enrolled in the study. The mean AUCb>ib> for treatments A, b, and C were 104 ± 10, 111 ± 12, and 87 ± 12 mmol min/L, respectively and for Treatment R it was 276 ± 16, 319 ± 28 and 338 ± 25 mmol min/L for Days 1, 6 and 8, respectively. The mean GI of Treatment A was 33 ± 3, Treatment b was 35 ± 3 and Treatment C was 29 ± 5;all GI means were ≤55. Mild adverse events were reported in 2 (14.3%) subjects. No serious adverse events or deaths were reported in the study. All treatments were well tolerated by the subjects. Conclusion: The glycemic index of both test products and comparator was low (i.e., GI 55) as per ISO 26642:2010 standard.
