OffSig-SinGAN: A deep.Learning-Based Image Augmentation Model for Offline Signature Verification

Offline signature verification(OfSV)is essential in preventing the falsification of *** learning(DL)based OfSVs require a high number of signature images to attain acceptable ***,a limited number of signature samples are available to train these models in a real-world *** researchers have proposed models to augment new signature images by applying various ***,on the other hand,have used human neuromotor and cognitive-inspired augmentation models to address the demand for more signature ***,augmenting a sufficient number of signatures with variations is still a challenging *** study proposed OffSig-SinGAN:a deep.learning-based image augmentation model to address the limited number of signatures problem on offline signature *** proposed model is capable of augmenting better quality signatures with diversity from a single signature image *** is empirically evaluated on widely used public datasets;*** quality of augmented signature images is assessed using four metrics like pixel-by-pixel difference,peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR),structural similarity index measure(SSIM),and frechet inception distance(FID).Furthermore,various experiments were organised to evaluate the proposed image augmentation model’s performance on selected DL-based OfSV systems and to prove whether it helped to improve the verification accuracy *** results showed that the proposed augmentation model performed better on the GPDSsyntheticSignature dataset than other augmentation *** improved verification accuracy rate of the selected DL-based OfSV system proved the effectiveness of the proposed augmentation model.

The COVID-19 pandemic has spread globally,resulting in financialinstability in many countries and reductions in the per capita grossdomestic *** analysis is a cost-effective method for acquiringsentiments based on household income loss,as expressed on social ***,limited research has been conducted in this domain using theLexdeep.*** study aimed to explore social trend analytics usingLexdeep.which is a hybrid sentiment analysis technique,on Twitter to capturethe risk of household income loss during the COVID-19 ***,tweet data were collected using Twint with relevant keywords before(9 March2019 to 17 March 2020)and during(18 March 2020 to 21 August 2021)***,the tweets were annotated using VADER(lexiconbased)and fed into deep.learning classifiers,and experiments were conductedusing several embeddings,namely simple embedding,Global Vectors,andWord2Vec,to classify the sentiments expressed in the *** performanceof each Lexdeep.model was evaluated and compared with that of a supportvector machine(SVM).Finally,the unemployment rates before and duringCOVID-19 were analysed to gain insights into the differences in unemploymentpercentages through social media input and *** resultsdemonstrated that all Lexdeep.models with simple embedding outperformedthe *** confirmed the superiority of the proposed Lexdeep.modelover a classical machine learning classifier in performing sentiment analysistasks for domain-specific *** terms of the risk of income loss,the unemployment issue is highly politicised on both the regional and globalscales;thus,if a country cannot combat this issue,the global economy will alsobe *** research should develop a utility maximisation algorithmfor household welfare evaluation,given the percentage risk of income lossowing to COVID-19.

Rolling Bearing Condition Monitoring Technique Based on Cage Rotation Analysis and Acoustic Emission

In this paper,we present an alternative technique for detecting changes in the operating conditions of rolling element bearings(REBs)that can lead to premature *** developed technique is based on measuring the kinematics of the bearing *** rotational motion of the cage is driven by traction forces generated in the contacts of the rolling elements with the *** is known that the cage angular frequency relative to shaft angular frequency depends on the bearing load,the bearing speed,and the lubrication condition since these factors determine the lubricant film thickness and the associated traction *** a large percentage of REB failures are due to misalignment or lubrication problems,any evidence of these conditions should be interpreted as an incipient *** this paper,a novel method for the measurement of the instantaneous angular speed(IAS)of the cage is *** method is evaluated in a deep.groove ball bearing test rig equipped with a cage IAS sensor,as well as a custom acoustic emission(AE)transducer and a piezoelectric *** IAS of the cage is analyzed under different bearing loads and shaft speeds,showing the dependence of the cage angular speed with the calculated lubricant film *** bearing faulty operating conditions(mixed lubrication regime,lubricant depletion,and misalignment)are *** is shown that the cage IAS is dependent on the lubrication regime and is sensitive to *** AE signal is also used to evaluate the lubrication *** results suggest that the proposed technique can be used as a condition monitoring tool in industrial environments to detect abnormal REB conditions that may lead to premature failure.

A profound understanding of the mechanical behaviors of marble is very important for the design and construction of deep.diversion tunnels in Jinping II hydropower *** this paper,a coupled elasto-plastic-damage mechanical model is presented for Jinping ***,the experimental investigations on Jinping marble are ***,based on the framework of continuum damage and plastic theories,a general mechanical model is proposed to predict the mechanical responses of Jinping *** proposed model is used to simulate the triaxial compressive tests,and there is a general good agreement between experimental data and numerical predictions in a qualitative *** proposed model is able to capture the main features of Jinping marble observed in experiments,such as progressive yielding process,damage induced by plastic distortion,dilation,elastic degradation and stress sensitivity.

[1]Northeast China is situated partly on the Sino-Korean craton and partly on a portion of the Inner Mongolia fold *** by widespread Cenozoic intraplate volcanism and deformation caused by multiepisode extension,northeast China is an ideal place to study the underlying physical processes of rifting and active *** measured SKS wave splitting parameters from several regional networks of broadband stations recently deployed in northeast *** employed a multievent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)weighted method and obtained measurements of splitting parameters at 108 stations. These stations cover a variety of tectonic terranes,including the Songliao basin,the Jiamusi massif,the Inner Mongolia belt and the Yanshanian orogenic ***,the observed SKS splitting times are of low amplitude(～0.8 s),indicating that the underlying mantle experienced relatively weak deformation in this *** observed anisotropy varies consistently from place to place and exhibits an asymmetric pattern across the Songliao *** the southeast edge of the Songliao basin,the fast axis aligns nicely along the NW-SE direction,whereas the axis rotates slightly to NNW toward north beneath the Jiamusi *** the west edge of the basin where the north-south gravity lineament(NSGL)is located,we found significant scatter in the fast-axis direction. At the Yanshanian orogenic belt in the southwest corner of the basin,the fast axis aligns along the ew *** amplitude of the splitting time appears to be positively correlated with lithospheric thickness,suggesting that lithospheric deformation is the likely cause of the observed seismic anisotropy.

The Mesozoic basins in Yanshan, China underwent several important tectonic transformations, including changes from a pre-Late Triassic marginal cratonic basin to a Late Triassic-Late Jurassic flexural basin and then to a late Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous rift basin. In response to two violent intraplate deformation at Late Triassic and Late Jurassic, coarse fluvial depositional systems in Xingshikou and Tuchengzi Formations were deposited in front of thrust belts. Controlled by transform and extension faulting, fan deltas and lacustrine systems were deposited in Early Cretaceous basins. The composition of clastic debris in Late Triassic and Late Jurassic flexural basins respectively represents unroofing processes from Proterozoic to Archean and from early deposited, overlying pyroclastic rocks to basement rocks in provenance areas. Restored protobasins were gradually migrated toward nearly NEE to ew-trending from Early Jurassic to early Late Jurassic. The Early Cretaceous basins with a NNE-trending crossed over early-formed basins. The Early-Late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous basins were respectively controlled by different tectonic mechanisms.

The fluvio-lacustrine sequence of the Shanwang Basin,eastern China,preserves a rich and important terrestrial fossil fauna and flora;the exceptional preservation of these fossils reveals the dynamics of ancient mammalian ecosystems and plant ***,the timing of this sedimentary sequence has been the subject of debate for *** we contribute to this debate by presenting the detailed results of Ar/Ar analysis of the basalts above,below,and within the Shanwang *** dates place stringent constraints on the age of Shanwang Formation and associated ***/Ar ages obtained from basalts of the Niushan and Yaoshan Formations,which underlie and overlie the Shanwang Formation, are 21.0±2.5 Ma(2σ,full external error) and 17.3±1.5 Ma(2σ,full external error),respectively. The Ar/Ar age of the basalt in the Shanwang Formation is 17-18 *** the age constraints of the basalts of the Yaoshan and Shanwang Formations,the age of the Shanwang biota is estimated to be ca.17 Ma,late Burdigalian of the Early Miocene,indicating that the deposition of this fauna coincided with the onset of the mid-Miocene Climatic *** results provide new age constraints on the Shanwang mammal fauna,and independently support interpretations that this fauna can be assigned to chronozone MN4,and correlated with middle Orleanian of the European Land Mammal *** to late Hemingfordian of the North American Land Mammal *** diversity of the Shanwang Formation could reflect the global-scale mid-Miocene Climatic Optimum.
