Tubular structures are widely used in offshore installations,trusses,high rise buildings,towers for wind turbines,ski-lift installations,lightning,road pole signals etc.,owing to their excellent structural performance and attractive *** concentration,especially in the welded joints of these structures,is an important design consideration particularly for fatigue *** the context of tubular and non-tubular joints,this paper provides a review of the experimental and numerical studies that have been carried out so far to determine the stress concentration factor(SCF).Emphasis is also placed on the complexity of capturing different types of stresses in tubular/non-tubular joints for estimation of *** code provisions for evaluation of SCF are also ***,a few issues,which require significant research effort to advance our understanding and to improve the current design guidelines,have been identified.©2016 Shanghai Jiaotong *** by Elsevier B.V.

Magnesium(Mg)and its alloys are lightweight as well as biocompatible and possess a high strength-to-weight ratio,making them suitable for many industries,including aerospace,automobile,and *** major challenge is their high susceptibility to corrosion,thereby limiting their *** considerably lower reduction potential of Mg compared to other metals makes it vulnerable to galvanic *** oxide layer on Mg offers little corrosion resistance because of its high porosity,inhomogeneity,and *** conversion coatings(CCs)belong to a distinct class because of underlying chemical reactions,which are fundamentally different from other types of ***,a CC acts as an intermediate sandwich layer between the base metal and an aesthetic *** chromate CCs offer superior performance compared to phosphate CCs,yet still they release carcinogenic hexavalent chromium ions(Cr^(6+));therefore,their use is prohibited in most European nations under the Registration,Evaluation,Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals legislation ***-based CCs are a cost-effective and environment-friendly ***,this review primarily focuses on different types of phosphate-based CCs,such as zinc,calcium,Mg,vanadium,manganese,and *** discusses their mechanisms,current status,pretreatment practices,and the influence of various parameters-such as pH,temperature,immersion time,and bath composition-on the coating *** challenges associated with phosphate CCs and future research directions are also elaborated.

This research paper reports the fabrication and evaluation of titanium dioxide(TiO_(2))-and zinc oxide(ZnO)-based dye-sensitized solar cells with anthocyanin dye extracted from ***_(2) and ZnO were synthesized using the hydrothermal synthesis and chemical bath deposition techniques,*** scanning electron microscopy analysis showed that TiO_(2) had nanopillars made up of nano rods with dimensions of 111.866,90.521,and 81.908 nm,while ZnO had hexagonal patterned nanorods with lengths of 283.294 nm and diameters of 91.782 *** absorption spectra of the pomegranate dye were analysed and the strongest absorp-tion peak was found to be at 520 nm,which corresponds to the existing anthocyanin *** band gap of pomegranate dye was noted down to be 2.45 *** performance of the dye-sensitized solar cells was evaluated using one sun illumination(100 mW/cm^(2))where the dye-sensitized solar cell with TiO_(2) nanopillars achieved an improved efficiency of 0.46%whereas the dye-sensitized solar cell with ZnO nanorods showed a considerably reduced efficiency of 0.42%.

An efficient fluorescence probe, 4-methyl-2,6-bis（（thiophen-2-ylmethylimino）methyl）phenol （DFPTMA） and its SCN adduct has been synthesized and characterized by different spectroscopic techniques like ^1H NMR,^13C NMR, QTOF-MS ES^＋, UV-Vis and FTIR spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray structure of DFPTMA is reported. In presence of SCN-, DFPTMA exhibits significant fluorescence enhancement （λEx, 455 nm, λEm, 504 nm） in aqueous methanol （water-methanol, 1 ： 4, V/V, 0.1 mol/L HEPES buffer, pH 7.4）. Common bio-relevant anions viz. CH3COO^-, NO2, NO7, Cl^-, Br^-, I^-, SO4^2-, HSO4^-, N3^-, HAsO4^2-, Cr2O7^2-, H2PO4, ClO4^-, NCO^-, CN^-, CO3^2-, F^-, PO4^3-, S2-, HS- do not interfere in the recognition of SCN-. Lowest detection limit for SCN^- is 0.88 μmol/L with response time 〈5 min. The SCN assisted enhancement in emission intensity may be attributed to the formation of H-bond which enhances the rigidity of the molecular assembly.

The Influence of Cobalt Acetate on Sol-gel Derived Mullite Densification Behaviour

Monophasic mullite （3Al2O3？2SiO2） samples doped with 0.002 M, 0.02 M, 0.1 M, 0.15 M and 0.2 M of cobalt were prepared by a sol-gel process. Prepared gels were then dried, grinded, pressed into pellets and sintered at 1 000 °C and 1 300 °C for 4 h. Phase formation and densification behavior has been investigated as a function of the cobalt content and sintering temperature. Mullite densification behavior was analyzed .The density of the sintered ceramics was measured using Archimedes method. CoO and Co related compounds were detected by the analysis for G3, G4 and G5 doping levels. The mullite X-ray diffraction suggests predominant incorporation of Co in the glassy phase, whose quantity increased with the doping level.

The researchers demonstrate the development of a novel Prodosome technology-derived PL425 PEC phytonutrient-enriched electrolyte formulation and its significant contribution in fluid homeostasis as well as enhanced neuromuscular function, cardio-protection, pulmonary, and other physiological cellular and organ functions. Electrolytes enriched in phytonutrients including polyphenolic bioflavonoids, anthocyanins, saccharides, sulforaphanes, carotenoids and exotic spices, in conjunction with a full spectrum of sea water-derived electrolytes, such as sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium, phosphate, magnesium and bicarbonate, along with vitamin C, all of which are encapsulated in the proprietary Prodosome technology enabling enhanced bioavailability. This technology will maintain important biological functions including metabolic and energy homeostasis, pH equilibration, free radical inhibition, cell-to-cell communication, muscular integrity, enhanced neuronal, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and kidney functions. Moreover, these phytonutrients and electrolytes enhance energy metabolism, ATP production, and activate nitric oxide production without L-Arginine. Ongoing research studies are in progress.

Highly crystallized mullite has been achieved at temperatures of 1100℃and 1400℃by sol-gel technique in presence of titanium and strontium ions of different concentrations:G_(0)=0 M,G_(1)=0.002 M,G_(2)=0.01 M,G_(3)=0.02 M,G_(4)=0.1 M,G_(5)=0.2 M and G6=0.5 M.X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),LCR meter characterized the *** formation was found to depend on the concentration of the *** dielectric properties(dielectric constant,loss tangent and AC conductivity)of the composites have been measured,and their variation with increasing frequency and concentration of the doped metals was *** the experiments were performed at room *** composites showed maximum dielectric constants of 24.42 and 37.6 at 1400℃of 0.01 M concentration for titanium and strontium ions at 2 MHz,*** to the perfect nature of the doped mullite,it can be used for the fabrication of high charge storing capacitors and also as ceramic capacitors in the pico range.
