The present research work attempted to delineate and characterize the reservoir facies from the Dawson Canyon Formation in the Penobscot field,Scotian *** integrated study of instantaneous frequency,P-impedance,volume of clay and neutron-porosity attributes,and structural framework was done to unravel the Late Cretaceous depositional system and reservoir facies distribution patterns within the study *** strikes were found in the EW and NEE-SWW directions indicating the dominant course of tectonic activities during the Late Cretaceous period in the region.P-impedance was estimated using model-based seismic *** properties such as the neutron porosity(NPHI)and volume of clay(VCL)were estimated using the multilayer perceptron neural network with high ***,a combination of low instantaneous frequency(15-30 Hz),moderate to high impedance(7000-9500 gm/cc*m/s),low neutron porosity(27%-40%)and low volume of clay(40%-60%),suggests fair-to-good sandstone development in the Dawson Canyon *** calibration with the welllog data,it is found that further lowering in these attribute responses signifies the clean sandstone facies possibly containing *** present study suggests that the shale lithofacies dominates the Late Cretaceous deposition(Dawson Canyon Formation)in the Penobscot field,Scotian *** faults and overlying shale facies provide structural and stratigraphic seals and act as a suitable hydrocarbon entrapment mechanism in the Dawson Canyon Formation's *** present research advocates the integrated analysis of multi-attributes estimated using different methods to minimize the risk involved in hydrocarbon exploration.

magnesium(mg)and its alloys are lightweight as well as biocompatible and possess a high strength-to-weight ratio,making them suitable for many industries,including aerospace,automobile,and *** major challenge is their high susceptibility to corrosion,thereby limiting their *** considerably lower reduction potential of mg compared to other metals makes it vulnerable to galvanic *** oxide layer on mg offers little corrosion resistance because of its high porosity,inhomogeneity,and *** conversion coatings(CCs)belong to a distinct class because of underlying chemical reactions,which are fundamentally different from other types of ***,a CC acts as an intermediate sandwich layer between the base metal and an aesthetic *** chromate CCs offer superior performance compared to phosphate CCs,yet still they release carcinogenic hexavalent chromium ions(Cr^(6+));therefore,their use is prohibited in most European nations under the Registration,Evaluation,Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals legislation ***-based CCs are a cost-effective and environment-friendly ***,this review primarily focuses on different types of phosphate-based CCs,such as zinc,calcium,mg,vanadium,manganese,and *** discusses their mechanisms,current status,pretreatment practices,and the influence of various parameters-such as pH,temperature,immersion time,and bath composition-on the coating *** challenges associated with phosphate CCs and future research directions are also elaborated.

Study of refuge use on a predator-prey system with a competitor for the prey

In this paper, we propose a predator–prey system with a competitor for the prey. The model incorporates a constant prey refuge and predation process follows Holling type II response function. Using the Routh–Hurwitz criterion, the sufficient conditions of locally asymptotically stable of all the equilibria are obtained. Furthermore, global stability of the positive equilibrium is investigated by constructing a suitable Lyapunov function. The occurrence of Hopf-bifurcation of the system is shown at a critical value “ m ” and the system can be stabilized by increasing amount of prey refuge. The result includes the sufficient conditions for uniform persistence. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the obtained results and the dependence of the dynamic behavior on the prey refuge.

Design of crown pillar thickness using finite element method and multivariate regression analysis

minerals are now being extracted from deep mines due to drying up of resource in shallow ground. The need for suitable supports and ground control mechanisms for safe mining necessitates proper pillar design with filling technology. In addition, high horizontal stress may cause collapse of hanging wall and footwall rocks, hence designing of suitable crown pillars is absolutely necessary for imposing overall safety of the stopes. This paper provides a methodology for the evaluation of the required thickness of crown pillars for safe operation at depth ranging from 600 m to 1000 m. Analyses are conducted with the results of 108 non-linear numerical models considering Drucker-Prager material model in plane strain condition. material properties of ore body rock and thickness of crown pillars are varied and safety factors of pillars estimated. Then, a generalized statistical relationship between the safety factors of crown pillars with the various input parameters is developed. The developed multivariate regression model is utilized for generating design/stability charts of pillars for different geo-mining *** design charts can be used for the design of crown pillar thickness with the depth of the working,taking into account the changes of the rock mass conditions in underground metal mine.

A simple chemical method for the synthesis of Cu^(2+) engrafted mgAl_(2)O_(4) nanoparticles: Efficient fluoride adsorbents, photocatalyst and latent fingerprint detection

An adaptable, energy efficient chemical process is employed to synthesize Cu^2+engrafted mgAl2O4 nanoparticles(mg1-xCuxAl2O4, x = 0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 abbreviated as mCA0, mCA1, mCA3,and mCA5 respectively), using chelating ligand and the calcination temperature was determined by the thermogravimetric analysis of the precursor *** acted as good fluoride adsorbent in the presence of co-ions, different pH(2–11) via chemisorption revealed from Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) and photodegraded methylene Blue(mB).The satisfactory results were for mCA1(specific surface area 25.05 m^2/g) with 97%fluoride removal at pH 7.0 for the 10 mg/L initial fluoride concentration for 1.5 g/L adsorbent dose with 45 min contact time obeying the Langmuir isotherm model with negative thermodynamic parameters and 4 mmol of mCA3 with 98.51% photodegradation for 10-5 mol/L mB solution obeying pseudo-second-order and pseudo-first-order kinetics *** proposed photodegradation mechanism of mB was established by the FTIR and high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) *** nanoparticles are cubic, estimated through X-ray diffraction(XRD) and transmission electron microscopy(TEm) *** band gap energies, grain size, and the effective working pH were estimated by diffuse reflectance spectra(DRS), scanning electron microscope(SEm), and zero-point potential analysis respectively.A soil candle with mCA1 also fabricated for the household purpose and tested with some fluorinated field *** mCA3 was able to enhance the latent fingerprint on smooth surfaces.

Experimental and Quantum Studies on Adsorption and Corrosion Inhibition Effect on mild Steel in Hydrochloric Acid by Thiophene Derivatives

The inhibition effect of synthesized diethyl 3,4-bis（4-methoxybenzylideneamino） thieno[2,3-b] thiophene-2,5- dicarboxylate （Inh I） and diethyl 3,4-bis（benzylideneamino） thieno[2,3-b] thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylate （Inh II）, on cor- rosion of mild steel in 15% HC1 solution was investigated using weight loss measurements, electrochemical polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques. The experimental results show that the inhibition efficiency of studied inhibitors increased with the increase of inhibitors concentration but decreased with the increase of temperature. Corrosion inhibition efficiencies of 94.5% and 92.1% were obtained with 250 ppm of Inh I and Inh II at 303 K, respectively. The potentiodynamic polarization measurements indicate that the studied inhibitors act as mixed inhibitor. The thermodynamic parameters of the corrosion and adsorption processes were calculated and evaluated. The adsorption of these inhibitors was found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Scanning electron microscopy was used to characterize the surface morphology of the mild steel specimens in presence and absence of inhibitors. The mechanism of the inhibition process was discussed in the light of the chemical structure and quantum-chemical calculations of the investigated inhibitors.

The Influence of Cobalt Acetate on Sol-gel Derived mullite Densification Behaviour

monophasic mullite （3Al2O3？2SiO2） samples doped with 0.002 m, 0.02 m, 0.1 m, 0.15 m and 0.2 m of cobalt were prepared by a sol-gel process. Prepared gels were then dried, grinded, pressed into pellets and sintered at 1 000 °C and 1 300 °C for 4 h. Phase formation and densification behavior has been investigated as a function of the cobalt content and sintering temperature. mullite densification behavior was analyzed .The density of the sintered ceramics was measured using Archimedes method. CoO and Co related compounds were detected by the analysis for G3, G4 and G5 doping levels. The mullite X-ray diffraction suggests predominant incorporation of Co in the glassy phase, whose quantity increased with the doping level.

Abrupt change of dielectric properties in mullite due to titanium and strontium incorporation by sol-gel method

Highly crystallized mullite has been achieved at temperatures of 1100℃and 1400℃by sol-gel technique in presence of titanium and strontium ions of different concentrations:G_(0)=0 m,G_(1)=0.002 m,G_(2)=0.01 m,G_(3)=0.02 m,G_(4)=0.1 m,G_(5)=0.2 m and G6=0.5 m.X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEm),LCR meter characterized the *** formation was found to depend on the concentration of the *** dielectric properties(dielectric constant,loss tangent and AC conductivity)of the composites have been measured,and their variation with increasing frequency and concentration of the doped metals was *** the experiments were performed at room *** composites showed maximum dielectric constants of 24.42 and 37.6 at 1400℃of 0.01 m concentration for titanium and strontium ions at 2 mHz,*** to the perfect nature of the doped mullite,it can be used for the fabrication of high charge storing capacitors and also as ceramic capacitors in the pico range.
