Lithium/Sodium-ion batteries(LIB/SIB)have attracted enormous attention as a promising electrochemical energy storage system due to their high energy density and long cycle *** of the major hurdles is the initial irreversible capacity loss during the first few cycles owing to forming the solid electrolyte interphase layer(SEI).This process consumes a profusion of lithium/sodium,which reduces the overall energy density and cycle ***,a suitable approach to compensate for the irreversible capacity loss must be developed to improve the energy density and cycle ***-lithiation/sodiation is a widely accepted process to compensate for the irreversible capacity loss during the initial *** strategies such as physical,chemical,and electrochemical pre-lithiation/sodiation have been explored;however,these approaches add an extra step to the current manufacturing *** to these strategies,pre-lithiation/sodiation additives have attracted enormous attention due to their easy adaptability and compatibility with the current battery manufacturing *** this review,we consolidate recent developments and emphasize the importance of using pre-lithiation/sodiation additives(anode and cathode)to overcome the irreversible capacity loss during the initial cycles in lithium/sodium-ion *** review also addresses the technical and scientific challenges of using pre-lithiation/sodiation additives and offers the insights to boost the energy density and cycle life with their possible commercial *** most important prerequisites for designing effective pre-lithiation/sodiation additives have been explored and the future directions have been discussed.

This research article mainly reports on the precise structural,optical,and photocatalytic properties of cerium(Ce)-substituted yttrium manganite(YMnO_(3))nanoparticles synthesized by the polyacrylamide gel *** characteristics of YMnO_(3)were investigated by the substitution of Ce into the Y site at various molar *** Raman and X-ray diffraction(XRD)analyses confirmed the pure phase of hexagonal YMnO_(3),supported by the Rietveld *** microstructural studies indicate inhomogeneous and irregular particle *** X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results show the presence of two ionic states of Mn and Ce along with Y^(3+)state and oxygen *** optical exploration using photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy and UV-Vis-NIR analysis indicates that the intensity of absorption peak increases in the visible region,while the bandgap decreases from 1.42 to1.30 eV with the Ce ion doping(5 mol%-15 mol%).Photocatalytic properties of the polycrystalline nanoparticles were investigated by degradation of the pollutant *** process of amplified photocatalysis process was elucidated by the lowered bandgap and rate of charge carrier *** can be conjugated from this study that the synthesized nanoparticles may be employed as highly efficient(92.8%)visible light-triggered photocatalysts in a variety of real-world applications.

Synthesis and Characterisations of TiO<sub>2</sub>Coated Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes/Graphene/Polyaniline Nanocomposite for Supercapacitor Applications

Nowadays with ever increasing demand of energy, developing of alternative power sources is an important issue all over the world. In this respect we have prepared nanocomposites based on metal oxide (titanium oxide) coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)/polyaniline (PANI) with graphene and without graphene and studied their electrochemical performance. The formation of the polymer in the nanocomposites was confirmed by the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) study. The morphological characterisations were carried out by the Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). To characterize the prepared nanocomposites electrode, a cyclic voltammetry test for measuring specific capacitance, and an impedance test were conducted. The highest value of specific capacitance obtained for the TiO2 coated MWCNTs/PANI nanocomposite was 443.57 F/g at 2 mV/s scan rate. Upon addition of graphene nanosheet to the TiO2 coated MWCNTs in a weight ratio of (9:1) the specific capacitance value increased to 666.3 F/g at the same scan rate, also resulting in an increase in energy density and power density.

Chaos to order： Effect of random predation in a Holling type IV tri-trophic food chain system with closure terms

Complex dynamics of modified Hastings-Powell （HP） model （phytoplankton-zoo- plankton-fish） with Holling type IV functional response and density-dependent morta- lity （closure terms） for top predator species is investigated in this paper. Closure terms describe the mortality of top predator in plankton food chain models. Modified HP model with Holling type IV functional response gives rise to similar type of chaotic dynamics （inverted ＂teacup attractor＂） as observed in original HP model with Holling type II functional response. It is observed that introduction of nonlinear closure terms eliminate chaos and system dynamics becomes stable. Observation of this paper support the ＂Steele-Henderson conjecture＂ that, nonlinear closure terms eliminate or reduces limit cycles and chaos in plankton food chain models. Chaotic or stable dynamics are numerically verified by Lyapunov exponents （LE） method and Sil＇nikov eigenvalue anal- ysis and also illustrated graphically by plotting bifurcation diagrams. It is assumed that mortality of fish population, caused by higher-order predators （which are not explicitly included in the model） is not constant, rather it exhibits random variation through- out the year. To incorporate the effect of random mortality of fish population, white noise term is introduced into the original deterministic model. It is observed that the corresponding stochastic model is stable in mean square when the intensity of noise is small. Objective:To identify genotypes of Oesophagostmum venulosum(***) prevailing in West Bengal,India by comparing variation of nucleotide sequences among 28S ***: PCR amplification of partial segment of 28 S rRNA sequence and analysis of sequence amplified product by single strand conformation polymorphism(SSCP).Results:Two distinct conformers among male and female parasites were identified by PCR-SSCP *** analysis among conformers revealed the presence of five single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP) in codon 64,66,86,125 and *** RNA prediction structure showed that out of 5 SNPs,4 occurred at interior loop of RNA which confirmed evolutionary changes among isolates prevailing in this ***:SNPs occured in different isolates of *** might influence critical changes in rRNA folding pattern which influence evolutionary changes among isolates.

Assessment of nitrogen and sulphur cycle bacteria and shrimp production in ponds treated with biological products

Objective:To study the influence of biological products on the levels of nitrogen and sulphur cycle bacteria in shrimp culture systems of West Bengal,***:The pond water and sediment samples were analyzed for physico-chemical parameters as per standard *** bacteria involved in ammonification,nitrification,denitrification,sulphate reduction and sulphur oxidation were enumerated by most probable number ***:The semi-intensive and modified extensive shrimp farms used a variety of biological products during various stages of *** biological products were used in traditional *** water and sediment samples of modified extensive system recorded significantly higher mean heterotrophic bacterial *** counts of ammonia,nitrite and sulphur oxidizers,and nitrate and sulphate reducers varied among the *** cycling of nitrogen and sulphur appeared to be affected with the intensification of culture ***:The application of biological products in certain systems helped to maintain the bacteria involved in nitrogen and sulphur cycles and safe levels of ammonia,nitrite and *** assessment of these metabolically active bacteria in shrimp culture ponds and the application of right kind microbial products would help ameliorate the organic pollution in shrimp aquaculture.

Clinical outcome of orbital apex syndrome in COVID associated mucormycosis patients in a tertiary care hospital

AIM: To share clinical pattern of presentation, the modalities of surgical intervention and the one month postsurgical outcome of rhino-orbito-mucormycosis(ROCM) ***: All COVID associated mucormycosis(CAM) patients underwent comprehensive multidisciplinar y examination by ophthalmologist, otorhinolaryngologist and physician. Patients with clinical and radiological evidence of orbital apex involvement were included in the study. Appropriate medical and surgical intervention were done to each patient. Patients were followed up one-month post intervention. RESULTS: Out of 89 CAM patients, 31(34.8%) had orbital apex syndrome. Sixty-six(74.2%) of such patients had pre-existing diabetes mellitus, 18(58%) patients had prior documented use of steroid use, and 55(61.8%) had no light perception(LP) presenting vision. Blepharoptosis, proptosis, complete ophthalmoplegia were common clinical findings. Seventeen(19.1%) of such patients had variable amount of cavernous sinus involvement. Endoscopic debridement of paranasal sinuses and orbit with or without eyelid sparing limited orbital exenteration was done in most cases, 34(38.2%) patients could retain vision in the affected eye. CONCLUSION: Orbital apex involvement in CAM patients occur very fast. It not only leads to loss of vision but also sacrifice of the eyeball, orbital contents and eyelids. Early diagnosis and prompt intervention can preserve life, vision and spare mutilating surgeries.
