Met.ods: t.is phase 4, open-label, pilot.st.dy was conduct.d over 96 weeks in 23 ant.ret.oviral-na?ve, HIV-infect.d pat.ent.. Init.ally, t.ese pat.ent. received induct.on t.erapy wit. t.izivir plus lopinavir/rit.navir 400 mg/100mg t.ice daily. Pat.ent. who achieved a viral load 3. Ninet.en pat.ent. complet.d induct.on;of t.e four who did not. t.ree were lost.t. follow-up and one wit.drew due t. gast.oint.st.nal adverse event.. Very long chain-sat.rat.d and-polyunsat.rat.d fat.y acids(VLC-SFA and VLC-PUFA, respect.vely) are a funct.onally import.nt.class of fat.y acids cont.ining 28 carbons or more in t.eir acyl chain. t.ey are synt.esized by t.e elongat.on of very long fat.y acids-4(ELOVL4) enzyme, expressed mainly in t.e brain, ret.na, skin, t.st.s, and meibomian gland, where t.ese fat.y acids are found(Agbaga et.al., 2008). Furt.er, t.ese organs exhibit.t.ssuespecific VLC-PUFA and VLC-SFA biosynt.esis and incorporat.on int. complex lipids for specific funct.ons. In t.e brain, skin, and Meibomian glands, t.e ELOVL4 mainly makes VLC-SFA, which are incorporat.d int. complex sphingolipids. In t.e ret.na, t.e ELOVL4 makes VLC-PUFA t.at.are incorporat.d int. phosphat.dylcholine, t.at.are crit.cal for visual funct.on, while in t.st.s and sperm, t.e VLC-PUFA are incorporat.d int. sphingolipids t.at.are crit.cal for fert.lit.(Yeboah et.al., 2021).

AIM: t. evaluat. double balloon ent.roscopy (DBE) in post.surgical pat.ent. t. perform endoscopic ret.ograde cholangiopancreat.graphy (ERCP) and int.rvent.ons. MEt.ODS: In 37 post.surgical pat.ent., a st.pwise approach was performed t. reach normal papilla or ent.ral anast.moses of t.e biliary t.act.pancreas. When convent.onal endoscopy failed, DBE-based ERCP was performed and st.ndard paramet.rs for DBE, ERCP and int.rvent.ons were recorded. RESULt.: Push-ent.roscopy (overall, 16 procedures) reached ent.ral anast.moses only in six out.of 37 post.surgical pat.ent. (16.2%). DBE achieved a high rat. of luminal access t. t.e biliary t.act.in 23 of t.e remaining 31 pat.ent. (74.1%) and t. t.e pancreat.c duct.(t.ree pat.ent.). Among all DBE-based ERCPs (86 procedures), 21/23 pat.ent. (91.3%) were successfully t.eat.d. Int.rvent.ons included ost.um incision or papillot.my in 6/23 (26%) and 7/23 pat.ent. (30.4%), respect.vely. Biliary endoprost.esis insert.on and regular exchange was achieved in 17/23 (73.9%) and 7/23 pat.ent. (30.4%), respect.vely. Furt.ermore, bile duct.st.ne ext.act.on as well as ost.um and papillary dilat.on were performed in 5/23 (21.7%) and 3/23 pat.ent. (13.0%), respect.vely. Complicat.ons during DBE-based procedures were bleeding (1.1%), perforat.on (2.3%) and pancreat.t.s (2.3%), and minor complicat.ons occurred in up t. 19.1%. CONCLUSION: t.e appropriat. use of DBE yields a high rat. of luminal access t. papilla or ent.ral anast.moses in more t.an t.o-t.irds of post.surgical pat.ent., allowing import.nt.successful endoscopic t.erapeut.c int.rvent.ons.

Background: Recent.y, a significant.associat.on bet.een Chlamydia t.achomat.s infect.on and post.perat.ve t.achomat.us t.ichiasis (t.) recurrence was shown. t.e current.st.dy evaluat.d whet.er azit.romycin t.eat.ent.at.t.e t.me of surgery could reduce recurrence. Met.ods: As part.of Nepal's nat.onal t.achoma cont.ol programme, pat.ent. received azit.romycin (53 pat.ent.) or placebo (56 pat.ent.) at.surgery. Conjunct.vae were graded for t.achoma and swabbed t. det.ct.chlamydiae preoperat.vely and post.perat.vely up t. 12 mont.s. Logist.c regression was performed for associat.ons of t.eat.ent.opt.on wit. recurrence, infect.on, and act.ve t.achoma (by eye and by pat.ent.. Result.: t. recurrence was 28.9%at.12 mont.s. Recurrence was significant.y lower for t.ose wit. major t. at.baseline in t.e azit.romycin group at.12 mont.s (p=0.03); incident.recurrence was also significant.y lower at.6 mont.s (OR, 0.056; 95%CI, 0 t. 0.423; p=0.004). t.ere was a t.end for increased recurrence among t.ose wit. minor t. at.baseline and for reduct.on of act.ve t.achoma and infect.on in t.e azit.romycin group but.not.t.e placebo group. Conclusion: t.ese dat. suggest.t.at.azit.romycin t.eat.ent.at.t.e t.me of surgery may be warrant.d for pat.ent. wit. major t.. However, t.eat.ent.should be invest.gat.d furt.er for minor t., for efficacy at.subsequent.t.me int.rvals and in ot.er t.achoma endemic set.ings.

A search for t.e doubly charmed baryon ?cc+wit. t.e decay mode ?cc+→Ξc+K-π+is performed using prot.n-prot.n collision dat. at.a cent.e-of-mass energy of 13 t.V collect.d by t.e LHCb experiment.from 2016 t. 2018, corresponding t. an int.grat.d luminosit. of 5.4 fb-1. No significant.signal is observed wit.in t.e invariant.mass range of 3.6 t. 4.0 GeV/c2. Upper limit. are set.on t.e rat.o R of t.e product.on cross-sect.on t.mes t.e t.t.l branching fract.on of t.e ?cc+→Ξc+K-π+decay wit. respect.t. t.e Ξcc++→Λc+K-π+π+decay. Upper limit. at.95% credibilit. level for R in t.e range 0.005 t. 0.11 are obt.ined for diferent.hypot.eses on t.e ?cc+mass and lifet.me in t.e rapidit. range from 2.0 t. 4.5 and t.ansverse moment.m range from 4 t. 15 GeV/c.

A search for t.e doubly charmed baryon ■^+cc is performed t.rough it. decay t. t.eΛ^+c K^-π^+ final st.t.,using prot.n-prot.n collision dat. collect.d wit. t.e LHCb det.ct.r at.cent.e-of-mass energies of 7,8 and 13 *** dat. correspond t. a t.t.l int.grat.d luminosit. of 9 fb^-*** significant.signal is observed in t.e mass range from 3.4 t. 3.8 GeV/c^*** limit. are set.at.95%credibilit. level on t.e rat.o of t.e ■^+cc product.on cross-sect.on t.mes t.e branching fract.on t. t.at.ofΛ^+c and ■^++cc *** limit. are det.rmined as funct.ons of t.e ■^+cc mass for different.lifet.me hypot.eses,in t.e rapidit. range from 2.0 t. 4.5 and t.e t.ansverse moment.m range from 4 t. 15 GeV/c.
