Left lower lobe sleeve resection for the clear cell variant of pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinoma:A case report

BACKGROUND Pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinoma(PMEC)is a rare malignancy that arises from minor salivary glands within the tracheobronchial *** clear cell variant of PMEC is exceptionally uncommon and presents notable diagnostic challenges,primarily attributable to its morphological similarity to other tumors containing clear *** SUMMARY A 22-year-old male,formerly in good health,came in with a two-month duration of persistent cough and production of *** imaging and bronchoscopy examinations revealed a 2 cm tumor in the distal left main bronchus,which resulted in complete atelectasis of the left *** assessment via positron emission tomography/computed tomography scans and endoscopic biopsy confirmed the primary malignant nature of the tumor,charac-terized by clear cell morphology in most of the tumor *** patient underwent a left lower lobe sleeve resection accompanied by systematic mediastinal lymph node *** pathology analysis subsequently revealed a CRTC3-MAML2 gene fusion,leading to a definitive pathological diagnosis of the clear cell variant of PMEC,staged as *** surgery,the patient experienced a smooth recovery and exhibited no signs of recurrence during the one-and-a-half-year follow-up *** This article describes an unusual case of a clear cell variant of PMEC characterized by the presence of a CRTC3-MAML2 gene fusion in a 22-year-old *** patient underwent successful left lower lobe sleeve *** case underscores the distinctive challenges associated with diagnosing and treating this uncommon malignancy,underscoring the importance of precise diagnosis and personalized treatment strategies.

Surgical resection of a giant thymolipoma causing respiratory failure: A case report

BACKGROUND Thymolipoma is a rare benign tumor arising from the anterior mediastinal thymus and is composed of mature fatty tissue and interspersed nonneoplastic thymic tissue. This tumor accounts for only a small percentage of mediastinal masses, and the majority of them are asymptomatic and found incidentally. To date, fewer than 200 cases have been published in the world literature, of which most excised tumors weighed less than 0.5 kg and the largest weighed 6 *** SUMMARY A 23-year-old man presented with a complaint of progressive breathlessness for 6mo. His forced vital capacity was only 23.6% of the predicted capacity, and his arterial partial pressure of oxygen and carbon dioxide were 51 and 60 mmHg,respectively, without oxygen inhalation. Chest computed tomography revealed a large fat-containing mass in the anterior mediastinum that measured 26 cm × 20cm × 30 cm in size and occupied most of the thoracic cavity. Percutaneous mass biopsy revealed only thymic tissue without signs of malignancy. A right posterolateral thoracotomy was successfully performed to remove the tumor along with the capsule, and the excised tumor weighed 7.5 kg, which to our knowledge, was the largest surgically removed tumor of thymic origin. Postoperatively, the patient’s shortness of breath was resolved, and the histopathological diagnosis was thymolipoma. No signs of recurrence were observed at the 6-mo *** Giant thymolipoma causing respiratory failure is rare and dangerous. despite the high risks, surgical resection is feasible and effective.

Electric vehicles(EVs)have garnered significant attention as a vital driver of economic growth and environmental ***,ensuring the safety of high-energy batteries is now a top priority that cannot be overlooked during large-scale *** paper proposes an innovative active protection and cooling integrated battery module using smart materials,magneto-sensitive shear thickening fluid(MSTF),which is specifically designed to address safety threats posed by lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)exposed to harsh mechanical and environmental *** theoretical framework introduces a novel approach for harnessing the smoothed-particle hydrodynamics(SPH)methodology that incorporates the intricate interplay of non-Newtonian fluid behavior,capturing the fluid-structure coupling inherent to the *** approach is further advanced by adopting an enhanced Herschel-Bulkley(H-B)model to encapsulate the intricate rheology of the MSTF under the influence of the magnetorheological effect(MRE)and shear thickening(ST)*** simulation results show that in the case of cooling,the MSTF is an effective cooling medium for rapidly reducing the *** terms of mechanical abuse,the MSTF solidifies through actively applying the magnetic field during mechanical compression and impact within the battery module,resulting in 66%and 61.7%reductions in the maximum stress within the battery jellyroll,and 31.1%and 23%reductions in the reaction force,*** mechanism effectively lowers the risk of short-circuit *** groundbreaking concepts unveiled in this paper for active protection battery modules are anticipated to be a valuable technological breakthrough in the areas of EV safety and lightweight/integrated design.

The formation control of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(multi-UAVs)has always been a research *** on the straight line trajectory,a multi-UAVs target point assignment algorithm based on the assignment probability is proposed to achieve the shortest overall formation path of multi-UAVs with low complexity and reduce the energy *** order to avoid the collision between UAVs in the formation process,the concept of safety ball is introduced,and the collision detection based on continuous motion of two time slots and the lane occupation detection after motion is proposed to avoid collision between *** on the idea of game theory,a method of UAV motion form setting based on the maximization of interests is proposed,including the maximization of self-interest and the maximization of formation interest is proposed,so that multi-UAVs can complete the formation task quickly and reasonably with the linear trajectory assigned in ***,through simulation verification,the multi-UAVs target assignment algorithm based on the assignment probability proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the total path length,and the UAV motion selection method based on the maximization interests can effectively complete the task formation.

This work investigated the pyrolysis reaction of waste resin in a fluidized bed *** was found that the pyrolysis-generated ash would adhere to the surface of ceramic particles,causing particle agglomeration and *** kaolin could effectively inhibit the particle agglomeration during the fluidized pyrolysis reaction through physical isolation and chemical *** the one hand,kaolin could form a coating layer on the surface of ceramic particles to prevent the adhesion of organic ash generated by the pyrolysis of *** the other hand,when a sufficient amount of kaolin(-0.2%(mass))was added,the activated kaolin could fully contact with the Na+ ions generated by the pyrolysis of resin and react to form a high-melting aluminosilicate mineral(nepheline),which could reduce the formation of low-melting-point sodium sulfate and thereby avoid the agglomeration of ceramic particles.

Symbology of Feynman integrals from twistor geometries

We study the symbology of planar Feynman integrals in dimensional regularization by considering geometric configurations in momentum twistor space corresponding to their leading singularities(LS). Cutting propagators in momentum twistor space amounts to intersecting lines associated with loop and external dual momenta, including the special line associated with the point at infinity, which breaks dual conformal symmetry. We show that cross-ratios of intersection points on these lines, especially those on the infinity line, naturally produce symbol letters for Feynman integrals in D = 4-2∈, which include and generalize their LS. At one loop, we obtain all symbol letters using intersection points from quadruple cuts for integrals up to pentagon kinematics with two massive corners, which agree perfectly with canonical differential equation(Cde) results. We then obtain all two-loop letters, for up to four-mass box and one-mass pentagon kinematics, by considering more intersections arising from two-loop cuts. Finally we comment on how cluster algebras appear from this construction, and importantly how we may extend the method to non-planar integrals.

Hierarchical multihead self-attention for time-series-based fault diagnosis

Fault diagnosis is important for maintaining the safety and effectiveness of chemical *** the multivariate,nonlinear,and dynamic characteristic of chemical process,many time-series-based data-driven fault diagnosis methods have been developed in recent ***,the existing methods have the problem of long-term dependency and are difficult to train due to the sequential way of *** overcome these problems,a novel fault diagnosis method based on time-series and the hierarchical multihead self-attention(HMSAN)is proposed for chemical ***,a sliding window strategy is adopted to construct the normalized time-series ***,the HMSAN is developed to extract the time-relevant features from the time-series process *** improves the basic self-attention model in both width and *** the multihead structure,the HMSAN can pay attention to different aspects of the complicated chemical process and obtain the global dynamic ***,the multiple heads in parallel lead to redundant information,which cannot improve the diagnosis *** the hierarchical structure,the redundant information is reduced and the deep local time-related features are further ***,a novel many-to-one training strategy is introduced for HMSAN to simplify the training procedure and capture the long-term ***,the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by two chemical *** experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a great performance on time-series industrial data and outperforms the state-of-the-art approaches.

In this work,LiFe_(1-x)MnxPO_(4)@C(x=0,0.01,0.02,0.03)cathode materials were obtained by a simple co-precipitation method and heat treatment,and the influence of Mn-doped modification on the electrochemical performance of LiFePO_(4)@C cathode materials was *** show that by doping an appropriate amount of Mn,the cell volume became larger,and the electronic conductivity increased,which improved the Li+diffusion rate and thus its rate capability and cycle performance of Li-ion *** them,LiFe_(0.98)Mn_(0.02)PO_(4)@C showed superior lithium storage capability;the discharge capacity can reach 150.7 mAh g^(−1)at 0.1 *** cell could discharge up to 155.9 mAh g^(−1)at 1 C under high temperature at 45°C,which was higher than LiFePO_(4)@C(142 mAh g^(−1))under the same test *** discharge capacity of 1 C at room temperature was 139.9 mAh g^(−1),and the cycle stability was 95.9%after 200 *** showed that it had good rate capability and excellent cycle *** results indicate that Mn-doped LFP is a simple and effective strategy for developing high-performance cathode materials.

Thermal-force control ability under variation of electromagnetic stick structure parameters in RPECT

Thermal-force driving of roll profile electromagnetic control technology(RPECT),which can be used to adjust the roll profile,can be affected by the sequential temperature rise between the electromagnetic stick(ES)and electromagnetic control *** to the limited space of ES and induction coil,the cross-sectional area of induction coil can be inevitably affected by changing the size of the ES induction zone,which can further change the energy input under the same electromagnetic parameters,the temperature rising effect and the bulging *** investigate this phenomenon,the effects of the radius of the induction zone on the thermal-force contribution ratio,the heating ability of ES and the temperature distribution were analyzed through an electromagnetic-thermal-structural finite element *** ensure that the results are applicable to RPECT,the thermal energy conversion ability and thermal-force roll crown control ability under different lengths of the induction zone were *** was found that whether the current density regulation mode or the current frequency regulation mode is adopted,the cases with 20 or 25 mm radius of the induction zone have the great thermal energy conversion ability and the good thermal-force roll crown control *** reasonable adjustment of the length of the induction zone can reduce the radius required for the maximum energy efficiency *** with the results of the simulation analysis,the optimization of ES based on the control ability maximization requirement is achieved,which provides the base for the design and configuration of ES in RPECT.
