Anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)injuries of the knee are one of the most common and serious athletic *** widely used cortical suspension fixation buttons for ligament reconstruction are permanent implants,particularly those made from conventional steel or titanium *** this study,a biodegradable Zn-0.45Mn-0.2Mg(ZMM42)alloy with the yield strength of 300.4 MPa and tensile strength of 329.8 MPa was prepared through hot *** use of zinc alloys in the preparation of cortical suspension fixation buttons was proposed for the first *** 35 d of immersion in simulated body fluids,the ZMM42 alloy fixation buttons were degraded at a rate of 44μm/a,and the fixation strength was retained(379.55 N)in the traction ***,the ZMM42 alloy fixation buttons exhibited an increase in MC3T3-E1 cell viability and high antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus *** results reveal the potential of biodegradable zinc alloys for use as ligament reconstruction materials and for developing diverse zinc alloy cortical suspension fixation devices.

BACKGROUND To date,this is the first case of a paradoxical embolism(Pde)that concurrently manifested in the coronary and lower limb arteries and was secondary to a central venous catheter(CVC)thrombus via a patent foramen ovale(PFO).CASE SUMMARY Here,we report a case of simultaneous coronary and lower limb artery embolism in a PFO patient carrier of a *** patient presented to the hospital with acute chest pain and lower limb *** ultrasound showed a large thrombus in the right internal jugular vein,precisely at the tip of the *** and transesophageal echocardiography confirmed the existence of a PFO,with inducible right-to-left shunting by the Valsalva *** patient was administered an extended course of anticoagulation therapy,and then the CVC was successfully *** PFO closure was not *** was no recurrence during *** Thus,CVC-associated thrombosis is a potential source for multiple Pde in PFO patients.

Hypoxia off the Changjiang River Estuary has been the subject of much attention,yet systematic observations have been lacking,resulting in a lack of knowledge regarding its long-term change and *** revisiting the repeated surveys of dissolved oxygen(DO) and other relevant hydrographic parameters along the section from the Changjiang River Estuary to the Jeju-do in the summer from 1997 to 2014,rather different trends were revealed for the dual low-DO *** nearshore low-DO core,located close to the river mouth and relatively stable,shows that hypoxia has become more severe with the lowest DO descen ding at a rate of -0.07 mg/(L·a) and the thickness of low-DO zone rising at a rate of 0.43 m/*** offshore core,centered around 40-m isobath but moving back and forth between 123.5°-125°E,shows large fluctuations in the minimum DO concentration,with the thickness of low-DO zone falling at a rate of -1.55 m/*** probable factors affecting the minimum DO concentration in the two regions also *** the nearshore region,the decreasing minimum DO is driven by the increase in both stratification and primary productivity,with the enhanced extension of the Changjiang River Diluted Water(CDW) strengthening *** the offshore region,the fluctuating trend of the minimum DO concentration indicates that both DO loss and DO supplement are *** DO loss is primarily attributed to bottom apparent oxygen utilization caused by the organic matter decay and is also relevant to the advection of low-DO water from the nearshore *** DO supplement is primarily due to weakened *** analysis also shows that the minimum DO concentration in the nearshore region was extremely low in 1998,2003,2007 and 2010,related to El Ni?o signal in these summers.

Cognitive dysfunction is a core symptom common in psychiatric disorders including depression that is primarily managed by antidepressants lacking efficacy in improving *** this study,we report a novel dual serotonin transporter and voltage-gated potassium Kv7/KCNQ/M-channel inhibitor D01(a 2-methyl-3-aryloxy-3-heteroarylpropylamines derivative)that exhibits both anti-depression effects and improvements in cognition.D01 inhibits serotonin transporters(K_(i)=30.1±6.9 nmol/L)and M channels(IC_(50)=10.1±2.4μmol/L).D01 also reduces the immobility duration in the mouse FST and TST assays in a dose-dependent manner without a stimulatory effect on *** administrations of D01(20 and 40 mg/kg)can significantly shorten the immobility time in a mouse model of chronic restraint stress(CRS)-induced depression-like ***,D01 dose-dependently improves the cognitive deficit induced by CRS in Morris water maze test and increases the exploration time with novel objects in normal or scopolamine-induced cognitive deficits in mice,but not ***,D01 reverses the long-term potentiation(LTP)inhibition induced by *** together,our findings demonstrate that D01,a dual-target serotonin reuptake and M channel inhibitor,is highly effective in the treatment-resistant depression and cognitive deficits,thus holding potential for development as therapy of depression with cognitive deficits.

Spatio-temporal Variation Characteristics of Extreme Climate Events and Their Teleconnections to Large-scale Ocean-atmospheric Circulation Patterns in Huaihe River Basin,China During 1959–2019

Huaihe River Basin(HRB) is located in China’s north-south climatic transition zone,which is very sensitive to global climate *** on the daily maximum temperature,minimum temperature,and precipitation data of 40 meteorological stations and nine monthly large-scale ocean-atmospheric circulation indices data during 1959–2019,we present an assessment of the spatial and temporal variations of extreme temperature and precipitation events in the HRB using nine extreme climate indices,and analyze the teleconnection relationship between extreme climate indices and large-scale ocean-atmospheric circulation *** results show that warm extreme indices show a significant(P decreasing ***,all extreme temperature indices show significant mutations during ***,a stronger warming trend occurs in eastern HRB than western HRB,while maximum 5-d precipitation(Rx5day) and rainstorm days(R25) show an increasing trend in the southern,central,and northwestern regions of *** oscillation(AO),Atlantic multidecadal oscillation(AMO),and East Atlantic/Western Russia(EA/WR) have a stronger correlation with extreme climate indices compared to other circulation *** and AMO(EA/WR) exhibit a significant(P < 0.05) negative(positive)correlation with frost days and diurnal temperature *** warm events are strongly correlated with the variability of AMO and EA/WR in most parts of HRB,while extreme cold events are closely related to the variability of AO and AMO in eastern *** contrast,AMO,AO,and EA/WR show limited impacts on extreme precipitation events in most parts of HRB.
