decentralized cloud platforms have emerged as a promising paradigm to exploit the idle computing resources across the Internet to catch up with the ever-increasing cloud computing *** any user or enterprise can be the cloud provider in the decentralized cloud,the performance assessment of the heterogeneous computing resources is of vital ***,with the consideration of the untrustworthiness of the participants and the lack of unified performance assessment metric,the performance monitoring reliability and the incentive for cloud providers to offer real and stable performance together constitute the computational performance assessment problem in the decentralized *** this paper,we present a robust performance assessment solution ROde to solve this *** mainly consists of a performance monitoring mechanism and an assessment of the claimed performance(AoCP)*** performance monitoring mechanism first generates reliable and verifiable performance monitoring results for the workloads executed by untrusted cloud *** on the performance monitoring results,the AoCP mechanism forms a unified performance assessment metric to incentivize cloud providers to offer performance as *** extensive experiments,we show ROde can accurately monitor the performance of cloud providers on the premise of reliability,and incentivize cloud providers to honestly present the performance information and maintain the performance stability.

Generator tripping scheme(GTS)is the most commonly used scheme to prevent power systems from losing safety and ***,GTS is composed of offline predetermination and real-time scenario ***,it is extremely time-consuming and labor-intensive for manual predetermination for a large-scale modern power *** improve efficiency of predetermination,this paper proposes a framework of knowledge fusion-based deep reinforcement learning(KF-DRL)for intelligent predetermination of ***,the Markov decision Process(MDP)for GTS problem is formulated based on transient instability ***,linear action space is developed to reduce dimensionality of action space for multiple controllable ***,KF-DRL leverages domain knowledge about GTS to mask invalid actions during the decision-making *** can enhance the efficiency and learning ***,the graph convolutional network(GCN)is introduced to the policy network for enhanced learning *** simulation results obtained on New England power system demonstrate superiority of the proposed KF-DRL framework for GTS over the purely data-driven DRL method.

Understand the Temperature Sensing Behavior of Solid-state Polymerized PEDOT Hybrid Based on X-ray Scattering Studies

Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT) is one of the most successful conductive polymers that recently has been used in wearable sensors for human health monitoring. In this work, we prepared a series of PEDOT hybrids consisting of PEDOT, sodium poly(styrene sulfonate)(PSSNa) and polyethylene oxide(PEO), and their preparation could be scaled-up via an adapted solid-state polymerization process. The resistance of the as-prepared PEDOT:PSS/PEO hybrid shows clear temperature response, i.e., it decreases almost linearly with the temperature increase. To understand this phenomenon, the in situ synchrotron radiation wide-and small-angle X-ray scattering(WAXS/SAXS) characterizations were undertaken to study the temperature-dependent microstructure change of the PEDOT:PSS/PEO hybrid. It demonstrated that PEDOT formed conductive paths in the hybrids, which were not destroyed by the PEO crystallization. As temperature increased, the PEO crystals' melting and the accompanying reorganization of PEDOT chains endowed the hybrid sample temperature responsiveness. Based on these fundamental knowledges, the hybrid materials were used to fabricate flexible wearable sensor that showing temperature sensing performance with an accuracy of 1 ℃. These findings shed lights on the scalable manufacturing of wearable sensors for body temperature monitoring.

Refractories have an important effect on the cleanliness of molten *** interaction between CeAlO_(3) refractories and Ce treated steel was explored and compared with that between Al_(2)O_(3) refractories and Ce treated *** results show that the Ce content in steel decreases sharply after contact with Al_(2)O_(3) refractories and the pick-up of dissolved Al *** with the test of Al_(2)O_(3) refractories,the loss of Ce content is less in the test of CeAlO_(3) refractory,and the total oxygen content and dissolved Al content in steel increase *** dense and continuous Ce_(2)O_(2)S interface layer is observed at the CeAlO_(3) refractories/steel interface,which can serve as the metallurgical isolation layer and hinder the further interaction between refractories and ***,the higher steel cleanliness and less penetration of refractories by molten steel are obtained in the test of CeAlO_(3) *** CeAlO_(3) refractories show a promising prospect in the production of clean Ce treated steel.

Extracellular matrix(ECM)stiffening is a typical characteristic of cartilage aging,which is a quintessential feature of knee osteoarthritis(KOA).However,little is known about how ECM stiffening affects chondrocytes and other molecules *** study mimicked the physiological and pathological stiffness of human cartilage using polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)*** demonstrated that epigenetic Parkin regulation by histone deacetylase 3(HDAC3)represents a new mechanosensitive mechanism by which the stiffness matrix affected chondrocyte *** found that ECM stiffening accelerated cultured chondrocyte senescence in vitro,while the stiffness ECM downregulated HDAC3,prompting Parkin acetylation to activate excessive mitophagy and accelerating chondrocyte senescence and osteoarthritis(OA)in ***,intra-articular injection with an HDAC3-expressing adeno-associated virus restored the young phenotype of the aged chondrocytes stimulated by ECM stiffening and alleviated OA in *** findings indicated that changes in the mechanical ECM properties initiated pathogenic mechanotransduction signals,promoted the Parkin acetylation and hyperactivated mitophagy,and damaged chondrocyte *** results may provide new insights into chondrocyte regulation by the mechanical properties of ECM,suggesting that the modification of the physical ECM properties may be a potential OA treatment strategy.

Cascade utilization of full spectrum solar energy for achieving simultaneous hydrogen production and all-day thermoelectric conversion

Solar-driven photocatalytic water/seawater splitting holds great potential for green hydrogen ***,the practical application is hindered by the relatively low conversion efficiency resulting from the inadequate utilization of solar spectrum with significant waste in the form of ***,current equipment struggles to maintain all-day operation subjected to the lack of light during ***,a novel hybrid system integrating photothermal catalytic(PTC)reactor,thermoelectric generator(TEG),and phase change materials(PCM)was proposed and designed(named as PTC-TEG-PCM)to address these challenges and enable simultaneous overall seawater splitting and 24-hour power *** PTC system effectively maintains in an optimal temperature range to maximize photothermal-assisted photocatalytic hydrogen *** TEG component recycles the low-grade waste heat for power generation,complementing the shortcoming of photocatalytic conversion and achieving cascade utilization of full-spectrum solar ***,exceptional thermal storage capability of PCM allow for the conversion of released heat into electricity during nighttime,contributing significantly to the overall power output and enabling PTC-TEG-PCM to operate for more than 12 h under the actual *** to traditional PTC system,the overall energy conversion efficiency of the PTC-TEG-PCM system can be increased by∼500%,while maintaining the solar-to-hydrogen *** advancement of this novel system demonstrated that recycling waste heat from the PTC system and utilizing heat absorption/release capability of PCM for thermoelectric application are effective strategies to improve solar energy *** flexible parameter designing,PTC-TEG-PCM can be applied in various scenarios,offering high efficiency,stability,and sustainability.

Mode Multiplication of Cylindrical Vector Beam Using Raytracing Control

Cylindrical vector beams(CVBs)hold significant promise in mode division multiplexing communication owing to their inherent vector mode ***,existing studies for facilitating CVB channel processing are confined to mode shift conversions due to their reliance on spin-dependent helical modulations,overlooking the pursuit of mode multiplication *** challenge lies in the multiplicative operation upon inhomogeneous vector mode manipulation,which is expected to advance versatile CVB channel switching and ***,we tackle this gap by introducing a raytracing control strategy that conformally maps the light rays of CVB from the whole annulus distribution to an annular sector *** with the multifold conformal annulus-sector mappings and polarization-insensitive phase modulations,this approach facilitates the parallel transformation of input CVB into multiple complementary components,enabling the mode multiplication conversion with protected vector *** as a demonstration,we experimentally implemented the multiplicative operation of four CVB modes with the multiplier factors of𝑁N=+2 and N=−3,achieving the converted mode purities over 94.24%and 88.37%.Subsequently,200 Gbit/s quadrature phase shift keying signals were successfully transmitted upon multiplicative switching of four CVB channels,with the bit-error-rate approaching 1×10−*** results underscore our strategy’s efficacy in CVB mode multiplication,which may open promising prospects for its advanced applications.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)are regarded as promising energy storage devices due to their low cost,high capacity,and ecological ***,the severe dendritic growth and side reactions hinder their practical applicability ***,an ultrathin Cu coating layer(~200 nm)is decorated on zinc foils via filtered cathodic vacuum arc deposition technology,aiming to achieve high-performance *** Cu layer effectively suppresses chemical corrosion and hydrogen evolution reactions and enables preferential(002)Zn deposition during the stripping/plating ***,the Cu@Zn anode represents an elongated cycle life over 4,000 h at 2 mA·cm^(-2)/2 mAh·cm^(-2).Even in conditions of high current density of 5 and 10 mA·cm^(-2),the Cu@Zn anode shows prolonged cycling stability exceeding 4000 and 2000 h,*** advantages also bring high Coulombic efficiency of 99.87%under 5 mAh·cm^(-2)in Cu@Ti||Zn half-cell over 1500 ***,the Cu@Zn||MnO_(2)full cell demonstrates a superior cyclability with a specific capacity of 203 mAh·g^(-1)after 500 cycles a1 A·g^(-1).

Body composition and metabolic syndrome in patients with type 1 diabetes

BACKGROUND In recent years,the prevalence of obesity and metabolic syndrome in type 1 diabetes(T1DM)patients has gradually *** resistance in T1DM deserves *** is necessary to clarify the relationship between body composition,metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance in T1DM to guide clinical treatment and *** To assess body composition(BC)in T1DM patients and evaluate the relationship between BC,metabolic syndrome(MS),and insulin resistance in these *** A total of 101 subjects with T1DM,aged 10 years or older,and with a disease duration of over 1 year were *** impedance analysis using the Tsinghua-Tongfang BC Analyzer BCA-1B was employed to measure various BC *** and laboratory data were collected,and insulin resistance was calculated using the estimated glucose disposal rate(eGDR).RESULTS MS was diagnosed in 16/101 patients(15.84%),overweight in 16/101 patients(15.84%),obesity in 4/101(3.96%),hypertension in 34/101(33.66%%)and dyslip-idemia in 16/101 patients(15.84%).Visceral fat index(VFI)and trunk fat mass were significantly and negatively correlated with eGDR(both Pded eGDR[P=0.017,odds ratio(OR)=0.109],VFI(P=0.030,OR=3.529),and a family history of diabetes(P=0.004,OR=0.228).Significant factors for hypertension included eGDR(Pdemia included trunk fat mass(P=0.033,OR=1.202)and eGDR(P=0.037,OR=0.708).CONCLUSION Visceral fat was found to be a superior predictor of MS compared to conventional measures such as body mass index and waist-to-hip ratio in Chinese individuals with *** analysis,specifically identifying visceral fat(trunk fat),may play an important role in identifying the increased risk of

The Optical Variability Properties of TeV Blazars

Variability is one of the typical observational properties of blazars and the spectral changes are usually associated with variability,although this kind of association is unclear *** this work,we used data from the Steward Observatory blazar monitoring program to investigate the optical variability properties including the short-term timescale,the brightness-dependent spectral property,the correlation between the the brightness variation and the polarization,and then estimate the Doppler factors based on the obtained short timescale to study the polarization property for a sample of 20 TeV *** analyses arrive at the following results:(1)The largest variation amplitude in R-band,ΔR_(M),covers a range from ΔR_(M)=0.29 mag(1ES 2344+514)to ΔR_(M)=4.66 mag(3C 279).(2)Intra-day variability was found from five sources with timescales from 0.14 day for S50716+714 to 0.98 day for PKS *** sources show spectra that are bluer when they become brighter,suggesting a common bluer-when-brighter property.(3)The plot of the polarization versus estimated Doppler factor is consistent with the Doppler factor dependent formula of polarization.(4)The largest polarization is correlated with the largest optical variation,suggesting that the high polarization and high amplitude variation are both the indicator of beaming effect.
