The placenta plays a crucial role in successful mammalian reproduction.Ruminant animals possess a semi-invasive placenta characterized by a highly vascularized structure formed by maternal endometrial caruncles and fetal placental cotyledons,essential for full-term fetal development.The cow placenta harbors at least two trophoblast cell populations:uninucleate(UNC)and binucleate(BNC)cells.However,the limited capacity to elucidate the transcriptomic dynamics of the placental natural environment has resulted in a poor understanding of both the molecular and cellular interactions between trophoblast cells and niches,and the molecular mechanisms governing trophoblast differentiation and functionalization.To fill this knowledge gap,we employed Stereo-seq to map spatial gene expression patterns at near single-cell resolution in the cow placenta at 90 and 130 days of gestation,attaining high-resolution,spatially resolved gene expression profiles.Based on clustering and cell marker gene expression analyses,key transcription factors,including YBX1 and NPAS2,were shown to regulate the heterogeneity of trophoblast cell subpopulations.Cell communication and trajectory analysis provided a framework for understanding cell-cell interactions and the differentiation of trophoblasts into BNCs in the placental microenvironment.Differential analysis of cell trajectories identified a set of genes involved in regulation of trophoblast differentiation.Additionally,spatial modules and co-variant genes that help shape specific tissue structures were identified.Together,these findings provide foundational insights into important biological pathways critical to the placental development and function in cows.

An unusual substitution reaction of an aromatic sulfonic group based on 3-carbonyl-4-phenolsulfonic acid was discovered in a diazo-coupling process. The reaction occurred under mild reaction conditions （pH 8.0-9.0, 0-5 ℃, solvent： water） within a short reaction time （1 h）. A plausible substitution reaction mechanism by phenol-ketone resonance was proposed.

Extensive multifocal and pleomorphic pulmonary lesions in Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia: A case report

BACKGROUND Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia(WM) is a type of small lymphocytic lymphoma that mainly affects the bone marrow, spleen, and lymph nodes. A subset of patients with WM demonstrates extramedullary involvement(4.4%),and the most frequent extramedullary disease site involved is the lungs(30%).CASE SUMMARY A 60-year-old male patient who experienced intermittent breath-holding for 6 mo was admitted on August 14, 2017. Chest computed tomography indicated multiple pulmonary cavities in the upper lobes of both lungs, with pulmonary consolidation, ground-glass opacities, patchy infiltrates, fibrous bands, large bullae, and enlarged lymph nodes in the mediastinum. The patient was a heavy smoker(20 cigarettes/d for 40 years). Diagnostic fiberoptic bronchoscopy revealed normal findings. Serological examination revealed a remarkable increase in serum immunoglobulin M levels(30.24 g/L;normal: 0.4-2.30 g/L). A computed tomography-guided percutaneous pulmonary biopsy was performed in the left lower lobe of the lung with pulmonary consolidation and indicated that the alveolar structure disappeared and that a large amount of amyloid-like deposition was present along with the infiltration of very few lymphocytes and plasma cells. The patient was treated with the combined treatment of dexamethasone + rituximab + lenalidomide over four courses. Serum immunoglobulin M did not normalize, and he received ibrutinib +dexamethasone.CONCLUSION This patient with WM and lung amyloidosis had a wide range of pulmonary lesions and a variety of morphological features, which was a rare case. Yet, some changes might be ascribed to heavy smoking.

As H-and J-aggregation receive more and more attention in the research of organic solar cells(OSCs),especially in small molecular systems,deep understanding of aggregation behavior is needed to guide the design of conjugated small molecular structure and the fabrication process of OSC device.For this end,this review is written.Here,the review firstly introduced the basic information about H-and J-aggregation of conjugated small molecules in OSCs.Then,the characteristics of H-and J-aggregation and the methods to identify them were summarized.Next,it reviewed the research progress of H-and J-aggregation of conjugated small molecules in OSCs,including the factors influencing H-and J-aggregation in thin film and the effects of H-and J-aggregation on OPV performance.

Frequency Domain Fatigue Evaluation on SCR Girth-Weld Based on Structural Stress

The Steel Catenary Riser(SCR)is a vital component for transporting oil and gas from the seabed to the floating platform.The harsh environmental conditions and complex platform motion make the SCR’s girth-weld prone to fatigue failure.The structural stress fatigue theory and Master S-N curve method provide accurate predictions for the fatigue damage on the welded joints,which demonstrate significant potential and compatibility in multi-axial and random fatigue evaluation.Here,we propose a new frequency fatigue model subjected to welded joints of SCR under multiaxial stress,which fully integrates the mesh-insensitive structural stress and frequency domain random process and transforms the conventional welding fatigue technique of SCR into a spectrum analysis technique utilizing structural stress.Besides,a full-scale FE model of SCR with welds is established to obtain the modal structural stress of the girth weld and the frequency response function(FRF)of modal coordinate,and a biaxial fatigue evaluation about the girth weld of the SCR can be achieved by taking the effects of multi-load correlation and pipe-soil interaction into account.The research results indicate that the frequency-domain fatigue results are aligned with the time-domain results,meeting the fatigue evaluation requirements of the SCR.

New lump solutions and several interaction solutions and their dynamics of a generalized(3+1)-dimensional nonlinear differential equation

In this paper,we mainly focus on proving the existence of lump solutions to a generalized(3+1)-dimensional nonlinear differential equation.Hirota’s bilinear method and a quadratic function method are employed to derive the lump solutions localized in the whole plane for a(3+1)-dimensional nonlinear differential equation.Three examples of such a nonlinear equation are presented to investigate the exact expressions of the lump solutions.Moreover,the 3d plots and corresponding density plots of the solutions are given to show the space structures of the lump waves.In addition,the breath-wave solutions and several interaction solutions of the(3+1)-dimensional nonlinear differential equation are obtained and their dynamics are analyzed.

Properties of collective flow and pion production in intermediate-energy heavy-ion collisions with a relativistic quantum molecular dynamics model

The relativistic mean-field approach was implemented in the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics transport model(LQMD.RMF). Using the LQMD.RMF, the properties of collective flow and pion production were investigated systematically for nuclear reactions with various isospin asymmetries. The directed and elliptic flows of the LQMD.RMF are able to describe the experimental data of STAR Collaboration. The directed flow difference between free neutrons and protons was associated with the stiffness of the symmetry energy, that is, a softer symmetry energy led to a larger flow difference. For various collision energies, the ratio between the π^(-) and π^(+) yields increased with a decrease in the slope parameter of the symmetry energy. When the collision energy was 270 MeV/nucleon, the single ratio of the pion transverse momentum spectra also increased with decreasing slope parameter of the symmetry energy in both nearly symmetric and neutron-rich systems.However, it is difficult to constrain the stiffness of the symmetry energy with the double ratio because of the lack of threshold energy correction on the pion production.

Vitamin A regulates mitochondrial biogenesis and function through p38 MAPK‑PGC‑1α signaling pathway and alters the muscle fiber composition of sheep

Background Vitamin A(VA)and its metabolite,retinoic acid(RA),are of great interest for their wide range of physiological functions.However,the regulatory contribution of VA to mitochondrial and muscle fiber composition in sheep has not been reported.Method Lambs were injected with 0(control)or 7,500 IU VA palmitate into the biceps femoris muscle on d 2 after birth.At the age of 3 and 32 weeks,longissimus dorsi(LD)muscle samples were obtained to explore the effect of VA on myofiber type composition.In vitro,we investigated the effects of RA on myofiber type composition and intrinsic mechanisms.Results The proportion of type I myofiber was greatly increased in VA-treated sheep in LD muscle at harvest.VA greatly promoted mitochondrial biogenesis and function in LD muscle of sheep.Further exploration revealed that VA elevated PGC-1αmRNA and protein contents,and enhanced the level of p38 MAPK phosphorylation in LD muscle of sheep.In addition,the number of type I myofibers with RA treatment was significantly increased,and type IIx myofibers was significantly decreased in primary myoblasts.Consistent with in vivo experiment,RA significantly improved mitochondrial biogenesis and function in primary myoblasts of sheep.We then used si-PGC-1αto inhibit PGC-1αexpression and found that si-PGC-1αsignificantly abrogated RA-induced the formation of type I myofibers,mitochondrial biogenesis,MitoTracker staining intensity,UQCRC1 and ATP5A1 expression,SDH activity,and enhanced the level of type IIx muscle fibers.These data suggested that RA improved mitochondrial biogenesis and function by promoting PGC-1αexpression,and increased type I myofibers.In order to prove that the effect of RA on the level of PGC-1αis caused by p38 MAPK signaling,we inhibited the p38 MAPK signaling using a p38 MAPK inhibitor,which significantly reduced RA-induced PGC-1αand MyHC I levels.Conclusion VA promoted PGC-1αexpression through the p38 MAPK signaling pathway,improved mitochondrial biogenesis,and altered the composition of muscle fiber type.

In this article,we consider the long-time behavior of extensible beams with nonlocal weak damping:ε(t)u_(tt)+Δ^(2)u-m(‖▽u‖^(2))Δu+‖u_(t)‖^(p_(u_(t)))+f(u)=h,whereε(t)is a decreasing function vanishing at infinity.Within the theory of process on time-dependent spaces,we investigate the existence of the time-dependent attractor by using the Condition(C_(t))method and more detailed estimates.The results obtained essentially improve and complete some previous works.

This article continues our highlights last two years[1,2]on the highest independently confirmed mainstream(silicon,perovskite,and organic)solar cell efficiencies in 2023.The world record power conversion efficiency(PCE)of the single-junction silicon and perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells has reached over 27%and close to 34%,respectively,in 2023.We have also witnessed the rapid mass-production development of the silicon passivating contact and silicon back contact solar cells,as well as further progress with perovskite solar cells(PSCs).
