BACKGROUND Triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index values are a new surrogate marker for insulin *** study aimed to explore the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and atrial fibrillation(AF)recurrence after radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA).METHODS A total of 576 patients with AF who underwent RFCA at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were included in this *** participants were grouped based on cumulative TyG index values tertiles within 3 months after *** regression and restricted cubic spline analyses were used to determine the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and AF *** predictive value of all risk factors was assessed by receiver operating curve *** There were 375 patients completed the study(age:63.23±10.73 years,64.27%male).The risk of AF recurrence increased with increasing cumulative TyG index values *** adjusting for potential confounders,patients in the medium cumulative TyG index group[hazard ratio(HR)=4.949,95%CI:1.778–13.778,P=0.002]and the high cumulative TyG index group(HR=8.716,95%CI:3.371–22.536,Pdex *** restricted cubic spline regression model also showed an increased risk of AF recurrence with increasing cumulative TyG index *** considering cumulative TyG index values,left atrial diameter,and lactate dehydrogenase levels as a comprehensive factor,the model could effectively predict AF recurrence after RFCA[area under the curve(AUC)=0.847,95%CI:0.797–0.897,Pdex values were a risk factor for AF recurrence after *** longitudinal TyG index values may assist with optimized for risk stratification and outcome prediction for AF recurrence.

BACKGROUND Endoscopic rubber band ligation(ERBL)is a nonsurgical technique for the treatment of symptomatic internal hemorrhoids but is limited by recurrence and post-procedural *** To evaluate satisfaction,long-term recurrence,and post-procedural pain in managing internal hemorrhoids using a combination of polidocanol foam sclerotherapy and *** This was a prospective,multicenter,randomized study.A total of 195 consecutive patients diagnosed with grade II-III internal hemorrhoids were enrolled from four tertiary hospitals and randomly divided into a cap-assisted endoscopic polidocanol foam sclerobanding(EFSB)or an ERBL *** patients were followed-up for 12 ***-based severity and post-procedural pain were assessed using a hemorrhoid severity score(HSS)and a visual analog scale(VAS).Continuous variables were reported as medians and interquartile *** One hundred and ninety-five patients were enrolled,with 98 in the EFSB *** was lower in the EFSB group than in the ERBL group at 8 weeks[4.0(3.0-5.0)vs 5.0(4.0-6.0),P=0.003]and 12-month[2.0(1.0-3.0)vs 3.0(2.0-3.0),Pdemonstrated that EFSB treatment[B=-0.915,95%confidence interval(CI):−1.301 to−0.530,P=0.001]and rubber band number(B=0.843,95%CI:0.595-1.092,Pdependently associated with the VAS score 24 hours *** median VAS was lower in the EFSB group than in the ERBL[2.0(1.0-3.0)vs 3.0(2.0-4.0),Pded long-term satisfaction and effective relief from the recurrence of prolapse and pain 24 hours post-procedure.

AIM:To report our initial experience with a new approach to laparoscopic splenic vessel-preserving distal pancreatectomy(LSVPDP) in selective ***:Fifteen patients who had undergone LSVPDP with the left anterior pararenal space(LAPS)approach in our hospital from June 2008 to May 2013 after providing informed consent for operative management were retrospectively *** surgical techniques about LAPS approach were described in detail and patient outcomes were examined.A systematic review of the literature about traditional approach to LSVPDP which 15 articles included finally were performed using the Medline,EMBASE,and PubMed databases to identify all studies published from January 2002 to december *** clinical outcomes that were analyzed and compared between the two groups(LAPS-LSVPDP and LSVPDP with traditional approach) included patient age,body mass index,operative time,estimated blood loss volume,postoperative hospital stay,morbidity rate,postoperative pancreatic fistula rate,and characteristics of the resected ***:All 15 operations were completed successfully by LAPS-LSVPDP,with an average operative time of 149.70 ± 46.51 minutes,blood loss of 155.70 ± 111.82 ml,and hospitalization duration of 6.80 ± 2.14 *** intraoperative blood transfusions or excessive complications occurred with the exception of two small pancreatic fistulas and two mild *** final pathologic diagnosis including neuroendocrine tumors(n =1),cystic serous(n= 2) and mucinous(n = 4)neoplasms,intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(IPMN)(n = 1),solid pseudopapillary neoplasm(n=3),epidermoid cyst(n=l),pancreatic pseudocyst(n=2),accessory spleen(n=l).No significant differences in age,body mass index,tumor size,or complications were noted between the two *** LAPS approach group exhibited a significantly lower average intraoperative blood loss volume(155.7 vs 247.8 ml,P = 0.006),significantly shorter mean operative time(149.7 vs 230.8 min,P < 0.0
