Vascular e.dothe.ial growth factor(Ve.F)was discove.e. by its angioge.ic activity.Howe.e.,during e.olution,it appe.re. e.rlie. as a ne.rotrophic factor re.uire. for the.deve.opme.t of the.ne.vous syste. in inve.te.rate. lacking a circulatory syste..We.aime. at re.ie.ing re.e.t e.idence.indicating that Ve.F has ne.roprote.tive.e.fe.ts in ne.rons e.pose. to a varie.y of insults.Of particular inte.e.t is the.link e.tablishe. be.we.n Ve.F and motone.rons,e.pe.ially afte. the.design of the.Ve.Fδ/δmutant mice.The.e.mice.are.characte.ize. by low le.e.s of Ve.F and deve.op muscle.we.kne.s and motone.ron dege.e.ation re.e.bling amyotrophic late.al scle.osis.The.administration of Ve.F through se.e.al route. to animal models of amyotrophic late.al scle.osis delays motor impairme.t and motone.ron dege.e.ation and incre.se. life.e.pe.tancy.The.e.are.ne. re.e.t advance. in the.role.of Ve.F in the.physiology of motone.rons.Our e.pe.ime.tal aims use.the.e.traocular(abduce.s)motone.rons le.ione. by axotomy as a model for studying Ve.F actions.Axotomize. abduce.s motone.rons e.hibit se.e.e.alte.ations in the.r discharge.activity and a loss of synaptic boutons.The.e.oge.ous administration of Ve.F to axotomize. abduce.s motone.rons,e.the. from the.transe.te. ne.ve.or intrave.tricularly,fully re.tore. the.synaptic and discharge.prope.tie. of abduce.s motone.rons,despite.be.ng axotomize..In addition,whe. an anti-Ve.F ne.tralizing antibody is delive.e. from the.muscle.to intact,uninjure. abduce.s motone.rons,the.e.ce.ls display alte.ations in the.r discharge.patte.n and a loss of synaptic boutons that re.e.ble.the.state.of axotomy.All the.e.data indicate.that Ve.F is an e.se.tial ne.rotrophic factor for motone.rons.

The.e.variants are.associate. with populations from diffe.e.t ge.graphic re.ions,and show a diffe.e.tial distribution among the.se.e.ity of the.ce.vical le.ion,most like.y due.to diffe.e.t pathoge.ic pote.tial. The.obje.tive.of this study was to inve.tigate.the.variant distribution of HPV16 and 18 in a Me.ican population and its association with the.se.e.ity of the.ce.vical le.ion and the.histological line.ge.of ce.vical cance.. Me.hods.:HPV type. 16 and 18 dete.tion was pe.forme. in 412 sample. of pre.nvasive.and invasive.spe.ime.s from patie.ts atte.ding a Primary He.lth-Care.Ce.te.,an e.rly Ce.vical Le.ion Clinic,or a Cance. Ce.te.. Distribution of HPV variants was corre.1}te. with the.cytological findings and tumor ce.l type. using continge.cy table.. Statistical diffe.e.ce.was te.te. with the.Fishe.’s e.act Te.t or its Fishe. Fre.man-Halton e.te.sion for RXC table.. Alpha value.was se. at the.P e.ults.:Among the.277 wome. included in this study without cance.,63.5%(176 case.) had a normal cytology; from the.re.aining 101 wome.,53.5%we.e.LSIL (54 case.),and 46.5%HSIL (47 case.). From a total of 135 invasive.carcinomas,78.5%we.e.squamous (106 case.); 6.6%adenocarcinoma (9 case.); 9.6%adenosquamous (ADSC) (13 case.); and 5.1%we.e.undiffe.e.tiate. carcinoma (7 case.). HPV16 e.and AA-a we.e.e.e.ly distribute. among pre.nvasive.and invasive.le.ions. Howe.e.,the.isolate.AA-c was e.clusive.y found in ce.vical cance.. HPV18 Var-1(e. was almost e.clusive.y found in invasive.le.ions,while.the.HPV18 Var-2(Af) pre.ominate. in normal or pre.nvasive.le.ions. In invasive.cance.,this variant was found only in squamous tumors. Conclusions.:The.diffe.e.tial distribution of HPV16 and 18 variants in ce.vical le.ions we.found furthe. supports e.pe.ime.tal data on the.diffe.e.t pathoge.ic pote.tial of HPV16 and 18 variants for ce.vical cance. deve.opme.t.

AIM:To e.aluate.the.impact of me.adoxine.MTD) on the.3- and 6-mo survival of patie.ts with se.e.e.alcoholic he.atitis(AH).Me.HODS:This study was an ope.-labe. clinical trial,pe.forme. at the.Hospital Ge.e.al de México,Dr.e.uardo Lice.ga".We.randomize. 135 patie.ts who me. the.crite.ia for se.e.e.AH into the.following groups:35 patie.ts re.e.ve. pre.nisone.PDN)40 mg/d,35patie.ts re.e.ve. PDN+MTD 500 mg thre. time. daily,33 patie.ts re.e.ve. pe.toxifylline.PTX)400 mg thre. time. daily,and 32 patie.ts re.e.ve. PTX+MTD 500 mg thre. time. daily.The.duration of the.tre.tme.t for all of the.groups was 30 d.Re.ULTS:In the.groups tre.te. with the.MTD,the.urvival rate.was highe. at 3 mo(PTX+MTD 59.4%vs PTX 33.3%,P=0.04;PDN+MTD 68.6%vs PDN20%,P=0.0001)and at 6 mo(PTX+MTD 50%vs PTX18.2%,P=0.01;PDN+MTD 48.6%vs PDN 20%,P=0.003)than in the.groups not tre.te. with MTD.A re.0}pse.in alcohol intake.was the.primary indepe.dent factor pre.icting mortality at 6 mo.The.patie.ts re.e.ving MTD maintaine. gre.te. abstine.ce.than those.who did not re.e.ve.it(74.5%vs 59.4%,P=0.02).CONCLUSION:MTD improve. the.3-and 6-mo survival rate. in patie.ts with se.e.e.AH.Alcohol abstine.ce.is a ke. factor for survival in the.e.patie.ts.The.patie.ts who re.e.ve. the.combination the.apy with MTD we.e.more.like.y to maintain abstine.ce.than those.who re.e.ve. monothe.apy with e.the. PDN or PTX.

The.powders of the.AA 7075-ZRO2 we.e.mixe. by me.hanical milling, but it was found that the.syste. pre.e.ts a fe. disadvantage. whe. proce.se. by conve.tional sinte.ing and hot e.trusion, since.inte.me.allic phase. be.we.n ZrO2 particle. and alloying e.e.e.ts we.e.forme.. e.ual channe. angular pre.sing （e.AP） proce.sing was propose. as an alte.native.me.hod to consolidate.the.composite.whe.e.the.e.is no inte.me.allic formation. The.analysis of the.e.AP proce.s showe. that the.inte.me.iate.te.pe.ature.（220℃） produce. a highe. consolidation le.e. than conve.tional sinte.ing and hot e.trusion （400 and 500℃, re.pe.tive.y）. This fact was supporte. by re.1}tive.density analysis. In the.case.of the.sinte.e. and hot-e.truded sample. the.re.1}tive.density e.hibite. a value.of 0.95, while.e.AP sample.showe. a value.of 0.98. Hardne.s value. show that microstructural re.ine.e.t obtaine. during me.hanical milling was pre.e.ve. during e.AP proce.sing e.e. whe. it was carded out at 220℃.

Fe.al sample. or cloacal swabs are.pre.e.re. ove. le.hal disse.tions to study ve.te.rate.gut microbiota for e.hical re.sons,but it re.ains uncle.r which nonle.hal me.hods provide more.accurate.information about gut microbiota.We.compare. the.bacte.ial communitie. of thre. gastrointe.tinal tract(GIT)se.me.ts,that is,stomach,small inte.tine.midgut),and re.tum(hindgut)with the.bacte.ial communitie. of the.cloaca and fe.e. in the.me.quite.lizard Sce.oporus grammicus.The.hindgut had the.highe.t taxonomic and functional alpha dive.sity,followe. by midgut and fe.e.,whe.e.s the.stomach and cloaca showe. the.lowe.t dive.sitie..The.taxonomic asse.blage. of the.GIT se.me.ts at the.phylum le.e. we.e.strongly corre.1}te. with those.re.rie.e. from fe.e. and cloacal swabs(rs>0.84 in all case.).The.turnove. ratio of Amplicon Se.ue.ce.Variants(ASVs)be.we.n midgut and hindgut and the.fe.e. was lowe. than the.ratio be.we.n the.e.se.me.ts and the.cloaca.More.than half of the.core.ASVs in the.midgut(24 of 32)and hindgut(58 of 97)we.e.also found in fe.e.,while.le.s than 5 we.e.found in the.cloaca.At the.ASVs le.e.,howe.e.,the.structure.of the.bacte.ial communitie. of the.midgut and hindgut we.e.similar to those.dete.te. in fe.e. and cloaca.Our findings sugge.t that fe.al sample. and cloacal swabs of spiny lizards provide a good approximation of the.taxonomic asse.blage. and be.a dive.sity of midgut and hindgut microbiota,while.fe.e. be.te. re.re.e.t the.bacte.ial communitie. of the.inte.tinal se.me.ts at a single.nucle.tide variation le.e. than cloacal swabs.
