Raman spectroscopy has tremendous potential for material analysis with its molecular fingerprinting capability in many branches of science and technology.It is also an emerging omics technique for metabolic profiling to shape precision medicine.However,precisely attributing vibration peaks coupled with specific environmental,instrumental,and specimen noise is problematic.Intelligent Raman spectral preprocessing to remove statistical bias noise and sample-related errors should provide a powerful tool for valuable information extraction.Here,we propose a novel Raman spectral preprocessing scheme based on self-supervised learning(RSPSSL)with high capacity and spectral fidelity.It can preprocess arbitrary Raman spectra without further training at a speed of~1900 spectra per second without human interference.The experimental data preprocessing trial demonstrated its excellent capacity and signal fidelity with an 88%reduction in root mean square error and a 60%reduction in infinite norm(L__(∞))compared to established techniques.With this advantage,it remarkably enhanced various biomedical applications with a 400%accuracy elevation(ΔAUC)in cancer diagnosis,an average 38%(few-shot)and 242%accuracy improvement in paraquat concentration prediction,and unsealed the chemical resolution of biomedical hyperspectral images,especially in the spectral fingerprint region.It precisely preprocessed various Raman spectra from different spectroscopy devices,laboratories,and diverse applications.This scheme will enable biomedical mechanism screening with the label-free volumetric molecular imaging tool on organism and disease metabolomics profiling with a scenario of high throughput,cross-device,various analyte complexity,and diverse applications.

Prediction of high-embankment settlement combining joint denoising technique and enhanced GWO-v-SVR method

Reliable long-term settlement prediction of a high embankment relates to mountain infrastructure safety.This study developed a novel hybrid model(NHM)that combines a joint denoising technique with an enhanced gray wolf optimizer(EGWO)-n-support vector regression(n-SVR)method.High-embankment field measurements were preprocessed using the joint denoising technique,which in-cludes complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition,singular value decomposition,and wavelet packet transform.Furthermore,high-embankment settlements were predicted using the EGWO-n-SVR method.In this method,the standard gray wolf optimizer(GWO)was improved to obtain the EGWO to better tune the n-SVR model hyperparameters.The proposed NHM was then tested in two case studies.Finally,the influences of the data division ratio and kernel function on the EGWO-n-SVR forecasting performance and prediction efficiency were investigated.The results indicate that the NHM suppresses noise and restores details in high-embankment field measurements.Simultaneously,the NHM out-performs other alternative prediction methods in prediction accuracy and robustness.This demonstrates that the proposed NHM is effective in predicting high-embankment settlements with noisy field mea-surements.Moreover,the appropriate data division ratio and kernel function for EGWO-n-SVR are 7:3 and radial basis function,respectively.

An inexpensive phosphine catalyst was used effectively for a transition-metal-free acyl-transfer of N-containing heteroaryl ketones for the rapid synthesis of N-fused heterocycles.The key pre-aromatic spirocyclic intermediate initialized by the single electron transfer(SET)process of Togni's reagentⅡpromoted by the tertiary phosphine resulted in an intriguing and alternative tactic for the cleavage of C–C bonds.By using inexpensive tertiary phosphine as the catalyst,this skeleton-reorganizing approach of N-containing heteroaryl ketones allows a streamlined assembly of complex N-fused heterocycles with broad functional group tolerance.

Targeted multi-agent communication algorithm based on state control

As an important mechanism in multi-agent interaction,communication can make agents form complex team relationships rather than constitute a simple set of multiple independent agents.However,the existing communication schemes can bring much timing redundancy and irrelevant messages,which seriously affects their practical application.To solve this problem,this paper proposes a targeted multiagent communication algorithm based on state control(SCTC).The SCTC uses a gating mechanism based on state control to reduce the timing redundancy of communication between agents and determines the interaction relationship between agents and the importance weight of a communication message through a series connection of hard-and self-attention mechanisms,realizing targeted communication message processing.In addition,by minimizing the difference between the fusion message generated from a real communication message of each agent and a fusion message generated from the buffered message,the correctness of the final action choice of the agent is ensured.Our evaluation using a challenging set of Star Craft II benchmarks indicates that the SCTC can significantly improve the learning performance and reduce the communication overhead between agents,thus ensuring better cooperation between agents.

Effect of aflibercept combined with triamcinolone acetonide on aqueous humor growth factor and inflammatory mediators in diabetic macular edema

AIM:To investigate the efficacy of aflibercept combined with sub-tenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide(TA)in treating diabetic macular edema(DME)and to examine changes in growth factors and inflammatory mediator levels in aqueous humor after injection.METHODS:Totally 67 DME patients(67 eyes)and 30 cataract patients(32 eyes)were enrolled as the DME group and the control group,respectively.The DME group was divided into the aflibercept group(34 cases)and the aflibercept combined with TA group(combined group,33 cases).The aqueous humor of both groups was collected during the study period.The aqueous levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)were detected using a microsphere suspension array technology(Luminex 200TM).Aqueous cytokines,best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),central macular thickness(CMT),and complications before and after treatment were compared between the aflibercept group and combined group.RESULTS:The concentrations of VEGF,MCP-1,IL-6,and IL-8 in the aqueous humor were significantly higher in the DME group than those of the control group(all P0.05).CONCLUSION:The cytokines VEGF,MCP-1,IL-6,and IL-8 in the aqueous humor of DME patients are significantly increased.Aflibercept and aflibercept combined with TA have good efficacy in DME patients,can effectively reduce CMT,improve the patient’s vision,and have high safety.Aflibercept combined with TA can quickly downregulate the aqueous humor cytokines and help to relieve macular edema rapidly.However,the long-term efficacy is comparable to that of aflibercept alone

BACKGROUND Light chain(AL)amyloidosis is a plasma cell dyscrasia characterized by the pathologic production and extracellular tissue deposition of fibrillar proteins derived from immunoglobulin AL fragments secreted by a clone of plasma cells,which leads to progressive dysfunction of the affected organs.The two most commonly affected organs are the heart and kidneys,and liver is rarely the dominant affected organ with only 3.9%of cases,making them prone to misdia-gnosis and missed diagnosis.CASE SUMMARY A 65-year-old woman was admitted with a 3-mo history of progressive jaundice and marked hepatomegaly.Initially,based on enhanced computed tomography scan and angiography,Budd-Chiari syndrome was considered and balloon dilatation of significant hepatic vein stenoses was performed.However,addi-tional diagnostic procedures,including liver biopsy and bone marrow-exami-nation,revealed immunoglobulin kapa AL amyloidosis with extensive liver involvement and hepatic vascular compression.The disease course was progre-ssive and fatal,and the patient eventually died 5 mo after initial presentation of symptoms.CONCLUSION AL amyloidosis with isolated liver involvement is very rare,and can be easily misdiagnosed as a vascular disease.

Buckling Properties of Water-Drop-Shaped Pressure Hulls with Various Shape Indices Under Hydrostatic External Pressure

The water-drop-shaped pressure hull has a good streamline,which has good application prospect in the underwater observatory.Therefore,this study conducted analytical,experimental and numerical investigation of the buckling properties of water-drop-shaped pressure hulls under hydrostatic pressure.A water-drop experiment was conducted to design water-drop-shaped pressure hulls with various shape indices.The critical loads for the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls were resolved by using Mushtari’s formula.Several numerical simulations including linear buckling analysis and nonlinear buckling analysis including eigenmode imperfections were performed.The results indicated that the critical loads resolved by Mushtari's formula were in good agreement with the linear buckling loads from the numerical simulations.This formula can be extended to estimate the buckling capacity of water-drop-shaped pressure hulls.In addition,three groups of pressure hulls were fabricated by using stereolithography,a rapid prototyping technique.Subsequently,three groups of the pressure hulls were subjected to ultrasonic measurements,optical scanning,hydrostatic testing and numerical analysis.The experimental results were consistent with the numerical results.The results indicate that the sharp end of the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls exhibited instability compared with the blunt end.This paper provides a new solution to the limitations of experimental studies on the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls as well as a new configuration and evaluation method for underwater observatories.

Gradient inflammation in the pancreatic stump after pancreaticoduodenectomy:Two case reports and review of literature

BACKGROUND Postoperative pancreatic fistula(POPF)contributes significantly to morbidity and mortality after pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD).However,the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.This study explored this pathology in the pancreatic stumps and elucidated the mechanisms of POPF following PD.CASE SUMMARY Pathological analysis and 16S rRNA gene sequencing were performed on specimens obtained from two patients who underwent complete pancreatectomy for grade C POPF after PD.Gradient inflammation is present in the pancreatic stump.The apoptosis was lower than that in the normal pancreas.Moreover,neu-trophildominated inflammatory cells are concentrated in the ductal system.No-tably,neutrophils migrated through the ductal wall in acinar duct metaplasia-formed ducts.Additionally,evidence indicates that gut microbes migrate from the digestive tract.Gradient inflammation occurs in pancreatic stumps after PD.CONCLUSION The mechanisms underlying POPF include high biochemical activity in the pancreas,mechanical injury,and digestive reflux.To prevent POPF and address pancreatic inflammation and reflux,breaking the link with anastomotic dehi-scence is practical.

Aflibercept combined with triamcinolone acetonide in the treatment of diabetic macular edema:optical coherence tomography and optical coherence tomography angiography

AIM:To analyze the relationship between optical coherence tomography(OCT)and OCT angiography(OCTA)imaging in patients with diabetic macular edema(DME)who are treated with a combination of aflibercept and triamcinolone acetonide(TA).METHODS:A total of 76 eyes newly diagnosed DME were included in this study.They were randomly assigned to receive either aflibercept or a combination of aflibercept and TA.Injections once a month for a total of three injections.Central macular thickness(CMT),number of hyperreflective foci(HRF),height of subretinal fluid(SRF),and area of foveal avascular zone(FAZ)were evaluated using OCT and OCTA at baseline and after each monthly treatment.RESULTS:Both groups showed improvement in best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and reduction in macular edema after treatment,and the difference in BCVA between the two groups was statistically significant after each treatment(Pdecreased HRF and SRF.However,both aflibercept and combination therapy show no significant change in the area of FAZ.

BACKGROUND A decreased autophagic capacity of bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells(BMSCs)has been suggested to be an important cause of decreased osteogenic differentiation.A pharmacological increase in autophagy of BMSCs is a potential therapeutic option to increase osteoblast viability and ameliorate osteoporosis.AIM To explore the effects of sinomenine(SIN)on the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs and the underlying mechanisms.METHODS For in vitro experiments,BMSCs were extracted from sham-treated mice and ovariectomized mice,and the levels of autophagy markers and osteogenic differentiation were examined after treatment with the appropriate concen-trations of SIN and the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine.In vivo,the therapeutic effect of SIN was verified by establishing an ovariectomy-induced mouse model and by morphological and histological assays of the mouse femur.RESULTS SIN reduced the levels of AKT and mammalian target of the rapamycin(mTOR)phosphorylation in the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway,inhibited mTOR activity,and increased autophagy ability of BMSCs,thereby promoting the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs and effectively alleviating bone loss in ovariectomized mice in vivo.CONCLUSION The Chinese medicine SIN has potential for the treatment of various types of osteoporosis,bone homeostasis disorders,and autophagy-related diseases.
