Strain localization frequently occurs in cohesive materials with friction(e.g.,composites,soils,rocks)and is widely recognized as a fundamental cause of progressive structural ***,achieving high-fidelity simulation for this issue,particularly concerning strong discontinuities and tension-compression-shear behaviors within localized zones,remains significantly *** response,this study introduces an integrated algorithmwithin the finite element framework,merging a coupled cohesive zone model(CZM)with the nonlinear augmented finite elementmethod(N-AFEM).The coupledCZMcomprehensively describes tension-compression and compressionshear failure behaviors in cohesive,frictional materials,while the N-AFEM allows nonlinear coupled intraelement discontinuities without necessitating extra nodes or nodal *** CZM validation using existing experimental data,this integrated algorithm was utilized to analyze soil slope failure mechanisms involving a specific tensile strength and to assess the impact of mechanical parameters(e.g.,tensile strength,weighting factor,modulus)in soils.

Corrosion failure accidents owing to flow erosion and pipeline corrosion frequently occur during *** welding reinforcement height(WRH)can induce locally micro-turbulent flow field,which aggravates local corrosion of welded joints.A high wall shear stress(WsS)experimental setup was established to conduct the online electrochemical corrosion *** influence of WRH sizes on local corrosion of welded joints was studied at different flow *** electrochemical signals of the local corrosion of X80 welded joints at different flow rates were monitored in real time using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and wire beam *** addition,the corrosion products composition and properties were *** results show that the micro-turbulent flow fields induced by the WRHs can enhance ion mass transfer near the welded *** corrosion products on the WRH surface also present different microscopic morphologies at different flow *** strong flow fields,the locally enhanced wsS can peel off the dense corrosion product partially,leading to the electrochemical distribution of large cathode and small anode,which accelerates the occurrence and development processes of the local corrosion of welded *** scientific guidelines for the corrosion protection of long-distance oil and gas pipelines can be potentially provided.

The storage and utilization of carbohydrates in response to elevation mediated by tree organs in subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests

Global climate change can affect tree growth and carbon sink function by influencing plant carbohydrate synthesis and utilization,while elevation can be used as an ideal setting under natural conditions to simulate climate change *** effect of elevation on tree growth may depend on organ ***,the allocation patterns of nonstructural and structural carbohydrates(NSCs and SCs,respectively)in different tree organs and their response to elevation remain *** selected four dominant tree species,Schima superba,Castanopsis eyrei,Castanopsis fargesii and Michelia maudiae,along an elevation gradient from 609 to 1,207 m in subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests and analyzed leaf,trunk,and fine root NSCs,carbon(C),nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)concentrations and the relative abundance of *** NSCs increased initially and then decreased,and trunk NSCs increased with increasing ***,root NSCs decreased with increasing *** relative abundance of SCs in leaves and trunks decreased,while the relative abundance of root SCs increased with increasing *** significant correlations between SCs and NSCs in leaves were detected,while there were negative correlations between SCs and NSCs in trunks,roots,and all *** partitioning analysis indicated that plant C/N and C/P were the main predictors of changes in SCs and *** results suggest that tree organs have divergent responses to elevation and that increasing elevation will inhibit the aboveground part growth and enhance the root growth of trees.A tradeoff between the C distribution used for growth and storage was confirmed along the elevation gradient,which is mainly manifested in the"sink"organs of *** results provide insight into tree growth in the context of global climate change scenarios in subtropical forest ecosystems.

Mild traumatic brain injury(mTBI)-induced post-traumatic headache(PTH)is a pressing public health concern and leading cause of disability *** PTH is often accompanied by neurological disorders,the exact underlying mechanism remains largely *** potential biomarkers may prompt the diagnosis and development of effective treatments for mTBI-induced *** this study,a mouse model of mTBI-induced PTH was established to investigate its effects on cerebral structure and function during short-term *** indicated that mice with mTBI-induced PTH exhibited balance deficits during the early post-injury *** kinetics revealed that variations in neurotransmitters were most prominent in the cerebellum,temporal lobe/cortex,and hippocampal regions during the early stages of ***,variations in brain functional activities and connectivity were further detected in the early stage of PTH,particularly in the cerebellum and temporal cortex,suggesting that these regions play central roles in the mechanism underlying ***,our results suggested that GABA and glutamate may serve as potential diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers for *** studies should explore the specific neural circuits involved in the regulation of PTH by the cerebellum and temporal cortex,with these two regions potentially utilized as targets for non-invasive stimulation in future clinical treatment.

The age and sedimentary environment of the Silurian “Lower Red Beds” (LRBs)， which occur widely in South China， have long been controversial because of the scarcity of index fossils. Recently， these beds have been dated by trilobites as middle-late Aeronian to early Telychian in age. Here， we report abundant brachiopods from the LRBs in Wuhan， Middle Yangtze Region， including atrypides (Meifodia hunanensis， Zygospiraella sp. 1， Zygospiraella sp. 2 and Nalivkinia? sp.)， spiriferides (Striispirifer acuminiplicatus， Striispirifer? sp.)， strophomenides (Eostropheodonta? sp. and Katastrophomena modesta)， and linguliformeans (Anomaloglossa? sp. and Orbiculoidea? sp.). Most of these are common in the Leijiatun， Xiangshuyuan， Shihniulan， Niuchang， Lojoping， and Shamao formations in the Upper Yangtze Region. The discovery of brachiopods from the LRBs in Wuhan not only enrich the biodiversity of the LRBs in the Yangtze Region， where Meifodia， Zygospiraella， Katastrophomena and Eostropheodonta are first found in the LRBs， but also expand the paleogeographical distribution of brachiopods to Middle-Lower Yangtze Region that first radiated after the end-Ordovician extinction. In addition， this brachiopod fauna also provides important implications for the sedimentary environment of LRBs during the Llandovery， which is usually developed in the nearshore shallow-water (BA1-2)， althought this paper extends to the deeper parts of the shallow-marine (BA3-4).

The mid-energy electron detector (MEED) is a space-borne instrument onboard Macao Science Satellite 1 (MSS-1)dedicated to monitoring the typical charged particle radiation characteristics in the satellite orbit and the process of their occurrence and development, including short bursts of lightning-induced electron precipitation (LEP). This paper presents the first results of the LEP measurements by the MSS-1.47 LEP events are identified with the routine operation for 3 months since satellite launch, all within the range of 1.5definitively geo-located for these LEP events. The LEP events occur within detectors, MSS-1can present in-situ observations of large regions of enhanced background precipitation and reveal their fine spatiotemporal characteristics and spectral signatures. The collaborative VLF ground-based measurements at the Great Wall Station, Antarctica also have a good correspondence with LEP measurements of MSS-1. The observations also imply that lightning activity has a modulation effect on the energetic electron energy-spatial structure.

Microplastics(MPs) and cadmium(Cd) in soil have serious negative impacts on plant growth. As a bioremediator, Trichoderma viride may modulate the impacts of MPs and/or Cd on plant growth and heavy metal uptake. In this study, T. viride F7 was used to treat Cd-contaminated soil with and without the presence of polylactic acid MPs to investigate its effects on peanut growth, Cd uptake efficiency, and soil properties. Results showed that F7 increased soil pH,dissolved organic carbon, cation exchange capacity, microbial biomass nitrogen, and microbial biomass carbon, which resulted in increases of 2.10%–19.83% in peanut biomass and mitigated the negative effects of MPs and Cd on peanut growth. Trichoderma viride F7 reduced the soil bioavailable Cd and plant Cd concentrations by 16.68%–34.20% and 5.37%–25.84%, respectively. Regression path analysis showed that F7 could improve peanut performances by altering soil properties and reducing peanut Cd concentrations in MP-Cd-contaminated soil. Soil fungal community analysis indicated that the microbial community was altered via F7 inoculation, which antagonized Fusarium and promoted peanut growth. This study reveals the mechanisms of F7 in mitigating Cd contamination in the soil with the presence of MPs, which provides new ideas for managing MP-heavy metal-contaminated soil and improving soil health.
