The Burma Terrane has yielded some of the earliest pieces of evidence for monsoonal rainfall in the Bay of ***,Burmese ecosystems and their potential monsoonal imprint remain poorly *** study focuses on the late Eocene Yaw Formation(23°N)in central Myanmar,which was located near the equator(c.5°N)during the *** quantitatively assessed the past vegetation,climate,and depositional environments with sporomorph diagrams,bioclimatic analysis,and sequence *** calculated the palynological diversity and drew inferences with rarefaction analysis by comparing with four other middle to late Eocene tropical *** results highlight a high floristic diversity for the palynoflora throughout the section formed by six pollen zones characterized by different *** indicate that lowland evergreen forests and swamps dominated in the Eocene Burmese deltaic plains while terra firma areas were occupied by seasonal evergreen,seasonally dry,and deciduous *** vegetation pattern is typical to what is found around the Bay of Bengal today and supports a monsoon-like climate at the time of the Yaw *** analysis further suggests that in the late Eocene,the Yaw Formation was more seasonal,drier,and cooler compared to modern-day climate at similar near-equatorial *** seasonal and drier conditions can be explained by a well-marked seasonal migration of the Intertropical Convergence Zone(ITCZ),driver of proto-monsoonal *** temperatures in the late Eocene of central Myanmar may be due to the lack of adequate modern analogues for the Eocene monsoonal climate,while those found at other three Eocene Asian paleobotanical sites(India and South China)may be caused by the effect of canopy evapotranspirational *** data suggest that paleoenvironmental change including two transgressive-regressive depositional sequences is controlled by global sea level change,which may be driven by cl

Understanding the parameters of PGA （peak ground acceleration） is very important for seismic hazard mitigation and environmental planning in Mandalay City, Myanmar. In this study, fifty SPTs （Standard Penetration Tests） measurement data were collected in Mandalay City, for calculating average shear velocity Vs30, which will be used in seismic microzonation mapping. The shear wave velocity Vs30 of the top layer is Vs30 〈 220 m/s. The ground motion characteristic was estimated by means of the predominant periods and linear magnification factors obtained using the multiple reflection analysis. The highest potential zone of seismic hazard mostly locates the north western marginal part of Mandalay city, in the proximal portion to the dextral Sagaing fault.

An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude struck the eastern Shan State in Myanmar at 20:29:30 Myanmar Standard Time(01:55:12 PM UTC) on 24 March *** is one of the earthquakes in plate-interior *** after-shocks occurred the same *** nucleation point of this earthquake was defined by an epicenter at 20 km west of Tarlay(20.705°N,99.949°E) at a depth of 10 km and its magnitude was *** earthquake damage was *** geological disasters were linearly distributed along the surface rupture *** earthquake produced cracks,arch bend,erupting sand,gush water,*** many *** a result of this strong earthquake,224-305 houses were seriously damaged,74 people were killed,124 *** event was named after the nearest village Tarlay and the NE-or ENE-striking Nan Ma fault was responsible for it.A detailed morphotectonic study was carried out in the area using satellite image 1:24,000 scale aerial photographs and 1:63360 scale topographic maps,to correlate the seismicity with *** is found that there are two prominent lineaments striking in NE-or ENE-and N-S or NNE-SSW *** present-day deformation of the Than Lwin suture zone is consistent with roughly NW-SE extension and NE-SW striking compression,but with more conjugate strike-slip faulting and only minor normal faulting.

Combined treatment of pancreatic cancer xenograft with 90Y-ITGA6B4-mediated radioimmunotherapy and PI3K/m TOR inhibitor

AIM To investigate the therapeutic effect of combined integrin α6β4-targeted radioimmunotherapy(RIT) and PI3 K/m TOR inhibitor BEZ235 in a pancreatic cancer *** Phosphorylation of Akt, m TOR, the downstream effectors eukaryotic initiation factor 4 E binding protein 1(4 EBP1) and S6 ribosomal protein(S6) were evaluated in Bx PC-3 human pancreatic cancer cells treated with Yttrium-^(90)(^(90) Y) labeled anti-integrin α6β4 antibody(ITGA6 B4) and BEZ235 by western blotting. The cytotoxic effect of BEZ235 was investigated using a colony formation assay. Therapeutic efficacy enhancement by oral BEZ235 administration was assessed using mice bearing Bx PC-3 xenograft tumors. Tumor volume measurements and immunohistochemical analyses(cell proliferation marker Ki-67, DNA damage marker p-H2 AX and p-4 EBP1 staining) of tumors were performed for evaluation of combined treatment with ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 plus BEZ235, or each arm *** We found that phosphorylation of Akt(p-Akt), 4 EBP1(p-4 EBP1) and S6(p-S6) was inhibited by BEZ235. Colony formation in Bx PC-3 cells was additively suppressed by the combination of ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 and BEZ235. 西藏古老的昆氏家族不仅创立了萨迦教派,并于公元十三世纪在元朝的扶持下建立了萨迦政权。萨迦政权虽在昆氏的成功缔造、苦心运营下逐日强固直至鼎盛,却仍然无法避免在经历了近一个世纪的辉煌后倏尓垮台的命运。史学界对于萨迦政权灭亡原因的研究,大多将精力放在萨迦政权和元朝中央政府的关系上,至今鲜有从昆氏家族世袭制中觅得线索,并将二者之重要关联详加论述的先例。有鉴于此,本文将视角置于"昆氏世袭制"这一核心要素,在深刻分析其特点的基础上指出存在于昆氏家族世袭制度中的局限性。在此基础上详细论证了昆氏世袭制和萨迦政权灭亡之间存在的深层内在联系,正是昆氏世袭制中的局限性和保守性导致了昆氏家族的衰落,进而加速了萨迦政权的灭亡。

Prenatal glucocorticoids （GCs） have been used to induce maturation of preterm fetal lungs and prevent the development of respiratory distress syndrome of the premature. Pulmonary surfactant induction has been regarded as the most important effect of prenatal GCs. However, report about the prolonged effects of prenatal GCs on the development of rat lung is of limited. In this study, we tried to investigate the acute and chronic modulation effects of prenatal dexamethasone （DEX） to asymmetric dimethylarginine （ADMA）/nitric oxide （NO） signal pathway of lung tissue. Pregnant Sprague Dawley rats at gestational day 14-20 were administered i.p. DEX （0.1 mg· kg-1 ·d-1）. Acute programming effects of prenatal DEX were assessed at postnatal day 7, and long-term programming effects of offspring were assessed at day 120. We found that repetitive prenatal DEX exposure contributes to DNA oxidative damage and alveolar tissue dysplasia. Prenatal DEX treatment decreased ADMA and increased iNOS expres- sion. Prenatal DEX treatment also increased TNF-α transcript expression and decreased HDAC2 protein expression at acute stage. In conclusion, repetitive prenatal DEX has prolonged stress damage effects on lung tissue.

Management of Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD) Dementia and Other Neuro-Degenerative Disease with Photo-Medicine: Clinical Experience and Case Studies

Objective: Photobiomodulation (also known as Low Level Laser. LLLT or Cold Laser;Photo Medicine (PM)) has been a vital adjunct therapy in our clinical practice over 5 years, observations of improvement in cognition and personality were noted in several patients. As a result, selected patients with Alzheimer’s Disease, vascular dementia, post-traumatic brain injury and other neuro-degenerative diseases were treated at clinical practices in Buffalo, New York;Sarasota, Florida;Lafayette, Indiana;Phoenix, Az., and Baton Rouge, La. Over 60 patients were treated with an average of 4 times over an 8-day period all reported/exhibited improvement in their condition, except that two men who were in their seventies were in robust health but had no short-term memory and no improvement was observed. However, Theralase has developed a more efficacious system which will be more efficacious, due to increased power for ATP activation. Method: Over 150 patients with the above conditions were treated in various areas (depending on diagnosis) including the prefrontal cortex, temporal lobe, Hippocampus, and Circle of Willis for duration of two and one-half minutes every 48 hours for 5 - 6 treatments. We utilized the Theralase multi-probe (905 nm/660 nm) at 60 miliwatts. It utilizes 5 - 905 nm near infra-red diodes and 4 infra-red 660 laser diodes with a peak power of 50,000 milliwatts at peak and pulse duration of 200 nanoseconds [1]. The PTSD patients were evaluated utilizing the co-occurring disorders program screening and assessment form. Conclusion: Dementia patients exhibited varying degrees of improvement in cognitive function and personality, leading to improved quality of life and decreased caregiver burden. PTSD patients’ improvement was objectively measured by formal neuropsychological testing utilizing the form. Obesity and overweight problems are serious global health issues today and despite many efforts,the prevalence has continued to rise for ***,hypnotherapy has been gaining recognition as an effective treatment for obesity and overweight *** review compiles contemporary scientific research on the effectiveness of hypnotherapy for weight ***,Pub Med and EBSCO Host databases were applied in the *** search identified 119 articles,of which seven met the inclusion criteria.A total of 539 respondents(82.7%women and 17.3%men)between the ages of 17 and 67 years were represented in the seven *** studies incorporated lifestyle changes,such as changes of dietary habit and behavioral recommendations in the hypnotic *** results suggested that the use of hypnotherapy not only promoted weight reduction during the treatment period but also after treatment cessation,and in some cases,one to ten kilograms were lost during follow-up *** addition,one study even showed increased physical activity among the hypnotised *** use of hypnotherapy also improved respondents'eating behavior and quality of ***,a definitive conclusion could not be drawn due to several methodological flaws and the limited number of published studies in this ***,further well-designed studies are needed to substantiate the effectiveness of hypnotherapy for this modern-day health problem.

【目的】明确稻田主导杀虫剂对稻纵卷叶螟Cnaphalocrocis medinalis的杀卵作用,为科学安全高效防控稻纵卷叶螟提供理论依据。【方法】选用稻田主导的8种杀虫剂(氯虫苯甲酰胺、阿维菌素、毒死蜱、茚虫威、吡虫啉、吡蚜酮、噻虫嗪和噻嗪酮),比较不同杀虫剂对不同日龄卵的毒杀效果及其对初孵幼虫存活和卵后续发育的影响。【结果】选择产后1-4日卵进行处理发现,氯虫苯甲酰胺对卵的校正孵化抑制率在10.42%-100.00%之间,杀卵活性最强。其中,氯虫苯甲酰胺处理1日龄和3日龄卵时毒力较大(LC为2.123和1.904mg/L),处理1日龄卵可导致卵无法正常发育成胚胎,说明其在稻纵卷叶螟卵初产时防治更佳。吡虫啉对卵的校正孵化抑制率在20.00%-91.67%之间,杀卵作用最强。3-4日龄卵经吡虫啉处理后卵孵化受抑制,此时期处理卵对稻纵卷叶螟的杀卵效果最好,初孵幼虫的致死率更高,说明其可在产卵2日后防治。【结论】8种杀虫剂中氯虫苯甲酰胺对稻纵卷叶螟杀卵活性最强,其在卵初产时处理杀卵效果最高,吡虫啉和噻虫嗪对稻纵卷叶螟也具有一定杀卵作用,其中吡虫啉的杀卵作用更强,其更适宜处理产后3-4日龄卵。
