Physical parameter estimation with MCMC from observations of Vela X-1

We present a parameter estimate for continua, and He-like triplets of the high resolution X-ray spectra with a Bayesian inference and a Markov Chain Monte Carlo(MCMC) tool. The method is applied for Vela X-1 with three different orbital phases(φ), Eclipse, φ = 0.25, and φ = 0.5, which are adopted from the Chandra High-Energy Transmission Grating Spectrometer(HETGS). A parameterized two-component power-law model [Sako et al., Astrophys. J. 525, 921(1999)] and a multi-Gaussian model are applied to model these continua and He-like triplets, respectively. A uniform distribution over each parameter is used as the prior belief. Posterior probability distribution functions of parameters and the covariances among them are explored by using the MCMC method. The main advantages are(i) all model-based parameters are set to be free instead of artificially fixing some of the parameters during the data-model fitting;(ii) the contributions from satellite lines are considered;(iii) backgrounds are treated as a correction to the observation errors;and(iv) the confidence interval of each parameter is given. The fitted results show that the column density of scatter component(N_H^(scat)) varies from phase to phase, which imply a non-spherical structure of the stellar wind in Vela ***, the wind velocities derived from main lines of each set of He-like triplets show better self-consistency than those in previous publications, which could provide a reliable approach for the diagnostics of photoionized plasma in astrophysical objects and the laboratory.

Reservoir and development characteristics of the Da'anzhai tight oil in Sichuan Basin,SW China

The oil in the Jurassic Da'anzhai reservoirs in the Sichuan Basin is unconventional tight oil,which accumulated in or near source rocks,and did not experience extensive migration in a large-scale long *** first submember,second submember and third submember of Da'anzhai Member are dominated by shell limestone which is widely and continuously distributed,and are typical near-source lacustrine shell limestone tight *** lithology,multiple types of reservoir space and complicated pore structure are developed in these *** effective reservoir space mainly includes micro-pores and micro-fractures with strong fabric *** petrophysics experiment reveals that the average connected matrix porosity of tight oil reservoir in Jurassic Da'anzhai Member is about 2.13%,lower than that of other tight oil reservoirs but higher than the average effective porosity(0.97%)from previous single alcohol-saturated *** to production performance data,the Da'anzhai shell limestone reservoir is not a simple porous or fractured reservoir,but has complex porethroat-fracture association or storage-seepage *** the development of fossil shells controls the development of micro-fractures,fluids are difficult to enter into but easy to escape from the *** the pore-throat is fine,the sorting is poor and the displacement pressure is high,the movable fluid saturation and mercury ejection efficiency of the reservoir in the Da'anzhai Member is only slightly lower than that of some storage-seepage modes,and higher than that of Oil-bearing Group 7 of Yanchang Formation in the Ordos *** reservoir in the Da'anzhai Member is one of the few tight oil reservoirs with high natural *** tight oil in the shell limestone of the Da'anzhai Member has great development potential,but its extensive and effective development also has some challenges,such as high seepage resistance of matrix and ineffective single development

Effects of basic fibroblast growth factor on angiogenin expression and cell proliferation in H7402 human hepatoma cells

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide. Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), which is highly expressed in developing tissues and malignant cells, regulates cell growth, differentiation, and migration. Its expression is essential for the progression and metastasis of HCC. This study aims to investigate the effects of bFGF on the expression of angiogenin, another growth factor, which plays an important role in tumor angiogenesis, and on cell proliferation in H7402 human hepatoma cells. The bFGF sense cDNA or antisense cDNA was stably transfected into H7402 cells. Genomic DNA PCR analysis demonstrated that human bFGF sense cDNA or antisense cDNA was inserted into the genome. Furthermore, the expression of bFGF and angiogenin was examined by RT-PCR and Western blot assays. MTT and colony formation assays were employed to determine cell proliferation. Stable bFGF over-expressing and under-expressing transfectants were successfully established. Expression of angiogenin was decreased in the over-expressing bFGF cells (sense transfectants) and was increased in the under-expressing bFGF cells (antisense transfectants). Cell proliferation increased in the bFGF sense transfectants and decreased in the bFGF antisense transfectants. These results demonstrated that the endogenous bFGF may not only negatively regulate the angiogenin expression but also contribute to the overall cell proliferation in H7402 human hepatoma cells. This study may be helpful in finding a potential therapeutic approach to HCC.

Fingered Intrusion of Shallow Saucer-shaped Igneous Sills: Insights from the Jiaojiang Sag, East China Sea

An extensive suite of igneous sills was intruded into the Tertiary sedimentary section of the Jiaojiang sag, East China Sea. This suite has been well imaged offshore through 2D and 3D seismic surveys, showing a close relationship with CO2 content in nearby gas discoveries. A new observational model, which incorporates simple upward propagation, simple horizontal propagation, and transgressive propagation, was proposed to interpret these sill intrusions. In this model, the source magma of the saucer-shaped sills was injected from their lowest points near the center. The transgressive propagation can be interpreted as a combination of the vertical and horizontal propagation. Most shallow sub-volcanic intrusions in the Jiaojiang sag exhibit fingered characteristics, both vertically and horizontally. The vertical fingered propagation produced saucer-shaped sills arranged in the flower style. Along the brims of lower sills could usually be found the upper sills, which are interpreted to have formed simultaneously with or later than the lower feeder sills. In the second type, the chilled paths of the older sills were reutilized by subsequent intrusions. The horizontal fingered propagation formed sheet intrusions that exhibit groove, lobate, tubular, and crevasse splay- like geometry in plan view. In 3D view, the sheet intrusions have still preserved the lower center and higher rim that similar with the sub-rounded saucer-shaped sills. Although fracture propagation may be important, flow inflation was the key mechanism of magma intrusion. Further consideration of the mechanisms underlying sill formation may help explain the fingered characteristics of sill propagation.

Micro-RNAs（miRNAs） have been found to be implicated in a very wide range of physiological *** study was aimed to investigate the regulation of miRNA-429（miR-429） in gastric cancer cells on cell proliferation and *** PCR was employed to detect the expressions of miR-429 after eukaryotic expression plasmid of miR-429 and its inhibitor were transiently transfected into poorly differentiated human gastric can-cer cell line *** 3-（4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide（MTT） reduction as-says were used to examine proliferation *** was analyzed by flow cytometry after *** results showed that 48 h after transfection,overexpression of miR-429 reached maximum *** with mock transfection,miR-429 inhibited tumor cell proliferation significantly（P 〈 0.05） at 48 h and 72 *** Overexpression of miR-429 promoted tumor cell apoptosis when compared with mock transfected cells（P 〈 0.05）.On the contrary,miR-429 inhibitor promoted tumor cell proliferation and inhibited apoptosis when compared with controls（P 〈 0.05）.Our results suggested that miRNA-429 may serve as a tumor suppressor during tumorigenesis of gastric cancer and may be a potential gastric cancer therapeutic target.

As a promising new way to generate a controllable strong magnetic field, laser-driven magnetic coils have attracted interest in many research fields. In 2013, a kilotesla level magnetic field was achieved at the Gekko XII laser facility with a capacitor-coil target. A similar approach has been adopted in a number of laboratories, with a variety of targets of different shapes. The peak strength of the magnetic field varies from a few tesla to kilotesla, with different spatio- temporal ranges. The differences are determined by the target geometry and the parameters of the incident laser. Here we present a review of the results of recent experimental studies of laser-driven magnetic field generation, as well as a discussion of the diagnostic techniques required for such rapidly changing magnetic fields. As an extension of the magnetic field generation, some applications are discussed.

The velocity interferometer system for any reflector(VISAR) coupled with a streaked optical pyrometer(SOP) system is used as a diagnostic tool in inertial confinement fusion(ICF) experiments involving equations of state and shock *** validate the process of adiabatically compressing the fuel shell through precise tuning of shocks in experimental campaigns for the double-cone ignition(DCI) scheme of ICF, a compact line-imaging VISAR with an SOP system is designed and implemented at the Shenguang-II upgrade laser facility. The temporal and spatial resolutions of the system are better than 30 ps and 7 μm, respectively. An illumination lens is used to adjust the lighting spot size matching with the target size. A polarization beam splitter and λ/4 waveplate are used to increase the transmission efficiency of our system. The VISAR and SOP work at 660 and 450 nm, respectively, to differentiate the signals from the scattered lights of the drive lasers. The VISAR can measure the shock velocity. At the same time, the SOP system can give the shock timing and relative strength. This system has been used in different DCI campaigns, where the generation and propagation processes of multi-shock are carefully diagnosed.

The atmospheric corrosion monitoring(ACM)technique has been widely employed to track the real-time corrosion behavior of metal ***,limited studies have applied ACM to the corrosion protection properties of organic *** study compared a bare epoxy coating with one containing zinc phosphate corrosion inhibitors,both applied on ACM sensors,to observe their corrosion protection properties over *** with artificial damage via scratches were exposed to immersion and alternating dry and wet environments,which allowed for monitoring galvanic corrosion currents in *** the corrosion tests,the ACM currents of the zinc phosphate/epoxy coating were considerably lower than those of the blank epoxy *** trend in ACM current variations closely matched the results obtained from regular electrochemical tests and surface *** alignment highlights the potential of the ACM technique in evaluating the corrosion protection capabilities of organic *** with the blank epoxy coating,the zinc phosphate/epoxy coating showed much-decreased ACM current values that confirmed the effective inhibition of zinc phosphate against steel corrosion beneath the damaged coating.

三肇凹陷扶杨油层源断裂的再认识及其对成藏的控制作用

对三肇凹陷青一段源岩生成的油向下伏扶杨油层"倒灌"运移通道类型及分布特征研究表明,三肇凹陷扶杨油层源断裂不是过去认为的从青一段底(T2)断至嫩三段底的断裂,而应为上部消失于青一段源岩中的T2断裂。这些断裂主要为坳陷期活动的断裂和断陷期形成、坳陷期继续活动的断裂,在整个凹陷分布广泛。三肇凹陷青一段源岩生成的油向下"倒灌"运移距离主要受青一段源岩古超压值与油"倒灌"运移阻力差的控制,同时还受到被T2源断裂错断的扶杨油层砂泥组合关系的影响。青一段源岩生成的油向下"倒灌"运移的实际距离可达到300m,高值区主要分布在油田区域内。T2源断裂对油成藏与分布的控制作用表现在:T2源断裂发育区控制油聚集区域;T2源断裂发育程度控制着油"倒灌"运移的距离;T2源断裂附近高断块圈闭有利于油聚集成藏;距T2源断裂的距离控制着油井产能。
