Flood wave propagation modeling is of critical importance to advancing water resources management and protecting human life and property. In this study, we investigated how the advection-diffusion routing model performed in flood wave propagation on a 16 km long downstream section of the Big Piney River, MO. Model performance was based on gaging station data at the upstream and downstream cross sections. We demonstrated with advection-diffusion theory that for small differences in watershed drainage area between the two river cross sections, inflow along the reach mainly contributes to the downstream hydrograph＇s rising limb and not to the falling limb. The downstream hydrograph＇s falling limb is primarily determined by the propagated flood wave originating at the upstream cross section. This research suggests the parameter for the advectiondiffusion routing model can be calibrated by fitting the hydrograph falling limb. Application of the advection diffusion model to the flood wave of j.nuary 29, 2013 supports our theoretical finding that the propagated flood wave determines the downstream cross section falling limb, and the model has good performance in our test examples.

Air velocity and temperature distributions inside operating rooms (ORs) play a crucial role to reduce the risk of infections and to ensure adequate comfort conditions for patient and medical staff. In this work, the authors have developed a three-dimensional thermo-fluid dynamic model to simulate airflow and thermal comfort in an actual OR equipped with High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters. The model takes into account the presence of surgical lights, people and equipment within the room. An experimental campaign is carried out inside the actual OR to measure velocity and temperature, to be employed as boundary conditions for the numerical model. The experimental data have also been used to validate the numerical results. The validated model has been used to analyze the effects of human shape, thermal boundary conditions and buoyancy forces on the main thermal and fluid dynamic quantities in the OR. The thermal comfort is evaluated based on Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) and Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied (PPD) indices. The results prove that the present experimental-numerical approach is useful to analyze and improve the thermal comfort conditions for medical staff and patient.

本文观察研究了STS预处理和保鲜液对干贮2-4个月后芍药切花开花率、花朵直径、品质及瓶插寿命的影响。结果:1、保鲜液对改善开花率、花朵直径、品质及瓶插寿命约有明显效果; 2、 STS预处理有保持开花率、改善花朵直径及品质的效果,但未能延长瓶插寿命;3、经STS预处理再插在保鲜液中开放的切花最好,冷藏3个月后,其开花率、花朵直径、品质及瓶插寿命仍与插在保鲜液中的未贮花相近。

利用免疫组织化学定位方法和Westernblot技术 ,对长途运输试验猪肝脏中 5种不同分子量的热应激蛋白HSP70 、HSP72 、HSP86、HSP90 和HSP2 7进行定位和表达。所有长途运输后应激猪和对照猪肝脏组织中均同时检测到了上述 5种HSP。肝细胞胞浆和胞核均显示阳性信号 ,但HSPs在肝细胞中的定位有差异 ,大多数HSP70 、HSP72 和HSP2 7主要分布于肝细胞胞浆内 ,而HSP90 和HSP86阳性颗粒在核内的分布比其在胞浆中的分布更为明显。肝小叶周边区有明显颗粒变性和脂肪变性的肝细胞中HSPs的阳性染色信号较弱。 6h的长途运输应激后 ,与对照组相比 ,HSPs在肝脏组织中的表达量存在差异 ,表现为HSP70 家族的HSP70 和HSP72 的表达没有明显的升高 (P >0 .0 5 ) ,HSP90 家族的HSP90 的表达出现极显著的增加 (P <0 .0 1) ,然而 ,HSP90 家族的HSP86和小分子量家族的HSP2 7的表达量呈现明显的下降 (P <0 .0 5 )。

AIM:To investigate the impact of arachidonic acid (AA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and their combination on colon cancer cell ***:The LS-174T colon cancer cell line was used to study the role of the prostaglandin precursor AA and the omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid DHA on cell growth. Cell viability was assessed in XTT assays. For analysis of cell cycle and cell death,flow cytometry and DAPI staining were applied. Expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2),p21 and bcl-2 in cells incubated with AA or DHA was examined by real-time RT-PCR. Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) generation in the presence of AA and DHA was measured using a ***:AA increased cell growth,whereas DHAreduced viability of LS 174T cells in a time-and dose-dependent manner. Furthermore,DHA down-regulated mRNA of bcl-2 and up-regulated p21. Interestingly,DHA was able to suppress AA-induced cell proliferation and significantly lowered AA-derived PGE2 formation. DHA also down-regulated COX-2 expression. In addition to the effect on PGE2 formation,DHA directly reduced PGE2-induced cell proliferation in a dose-dependent manner. CONCLUSION:These results suggest that DHA can inhibit the pro-proliferative effect of abundant AA or PGE2.

The gold standard for treating peripheral nerve inj.ries that have large nerve gaps where the nerves cannot be directly sutured back together because it creates tension on the nerve,is to incorporate an autologous nerve ***,even with the incorporation of a nerve graft,generally patients only regain a small portion of function in limbs affected by the ***,there has been some promising results using growth factors to induce more axon growth through the nerve graft,many of these previous therapies are limited in their ability to release growth factors in a sustained manner and tailor them to a desired time *** ideal drug delivery platform would deliver growth factors at therapeutic levels for enough time to grow axons the entire length of the nerve *** hypothesized that mineral coated microparticles(MCMs)would bind,stabilize and release biologically active glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor(GDNF)and nerve growth factor(NGF)in a sustained ***,the obj.ctive of this study was to test the ability of MCMs releasing growth factors at the distal end of a 10 mm sciatic nerve graft,to induce axon growth through the nerve graft and restore hind limb *** sciatic nerve grafting in Lewis rats,the hind limb function was tested weekly by measuring the angle of the ankle at toe lift-off while walking down a *** weeks after grafting,the grafts were harvested and myelinated axons were analyzed proximal to the graft,in the center of the graft,and distal to the *** physiological conditions in vitro,the MCMs delivered a burst release of NGF and GDNF for 3 days followed by a sustained release for at least 22 *** vivo,MCMs releasing NGF and GDNF at the distal end of sciatic nerve grafts resulted in significantly more myelinated axons extending distal to the graft when compared to rats that received nerve grafts without growth factor *** rats with nerve grafts incorporated with MCMs releasing NGF and G

利用Western blot技术,研究了长途运输试验猪肾脏中5种不同分子量的热应激蛋白HSP、HSP、HSP、HSP和HSP的表达.所有长途运输后应激猪和对照猪肾脏组织中均检测到了上述5种HSP,对照猪肾脏组织中HSP的表达说明HSP具有独立于应激刺激应答以外的在细胞内行使正常生理功能的作用;6h的长途运输应激后,HSP在肾脏组织中的表达量发生明显改变,但不同家族的HSP的表达量显著不同,表现为HSP家族的HSP（P0.05）、和HSP家族的HSP（P>0.05）、HSP（P<0.01）的表达明显下降,提示肾脏组织在长途运输中病理损伤的可能性.然而试验结果也显示HSP的表达量略有升高（P<0.05）,说明在应激反应中不同家族HSP可能有不同的生理作用.

利用一种从洋葱根际分离出的能促进作物生长的假单胞杆菌Psj.,无菌接种到马铃薯、番茄、辣椒、黄瓜和西甜瓜的节段和幼苗上,结果表明被接种有Psj.细菌的幼苗在根系生长、根群的发育和根重等方面明显高于对照,其差异以番茄、马铃薯表现明显,其次为辣椒、西瓜、和黄瓜, 对甜瓜的效果不甚明显。该种细菌也能明显地改进马铃薯、番茄、辣椒和黄瓜试管苗移植到温室条件下栽培的成活率和早期生长,并可大大改善试管苗对室外栽培条件的适应能力。接种有Psj.的马铃薯幼苗对低水平的Vericllium alboatrum和Rhizoctonia solani比未接种的有更好的抗逆性, 该种细菌与植株形成共生或内生的关系,并不需对外植体进行代代接种,故可在大范围生产上加以应用。结果同时表明,根际细菌在提高植物对环境胁迫的抗逆性上起着重要作用。
