A transjugular intrah.patic portal-systemic sh.nt (TIPS) is a standard way to decompress th. portal system in cirrh.tic patients as a bridge to orth.topic liver transplantation (OLT). Traditionally, TIPS h.s been indicated for certain portal h.pertensive sequelae such.as refractory ascites, varices treatment and even h.pato-h.droth.rax. h.rein is a case report on th. efficacy of TIPS in an OLT ineligible patient with.primary biliary cirrh.sis and aplastic anemia wh. h.d developed refractive ascites requiring serial paracentesis and esoph.geal varices. h. survived 2.5 years post-TIPS placement and died from complications related to severe leucopenia and th. development of sepsis.

Endoscopic retrograde ch.langio-pancreatograph. (ERCP) is increasing utilized in th. setting of liver transplantation for a number of post-operative related biliary issues. Alth.ugh.ERCP represents an excellent tech.ology, it is not with.ut attendant risk including sepsis, bleeding and perforation. In th.s case report, th. first of its kind, is described th. occurrence of a migrated biliary stent induced duodenal-colic fistula formation in a liver transplantation patient wh. h.d required dual biliary stenting given post-operative biliary structuring. Th. placement of dual stents and th.ir size are likely implicated in th. cause of perforation. Th. enteric anatomy and th. medical immunosuppression likely contributed to a delay in diagnosis and worse outcome.

h.patitis B virus (h.V) ch.onic infection represents a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Wh.le traditional intramuscular (IM) h.V vaccination is an excellent meth.d for robust and sustained seroconversion in h.alth. individuals, its efficacy in ch.onic liver disease is sub-optimal and scant data exists in th. post-liver transplant state. Importantly, h.V complications are even more severe in th.se same immunocompromised populations. Intra-dermal (ID) vaccination h.s sh.wn initial promise as a successful alternative to ach.eving h.V seroconversion in patients refractory to standard vaccination protocols. h.rein is a case report of a 61 year-old female wh. underwent liver transplantation for ch.onic h.V infection and ach.eved h.sAg seroconversion with.a robust h.sAb titer with.ID vaccination after h.ving failed both.standard and double dose IM vaccination.

Over th. course of th. postglacial period h.s managed to add degrade a substantial portion of th. world's potential agricultural land. Th. soil loss and degradation th.t h.s repeatedly impacted regional societies around th. world resulted from agricultural practices th.t increased th. ph.sical loss of soil(erosion), reduced soil organic matter, ch.nged p h.acidification) or salinity,and disrupted or altered communities of soil life. In th. coming century, as continued soil degradation th.eatens global food security wh.le th. global population keeps rising it is imperative th.t farmers develop and adopt soilh.alth.building(regenerative) practices to solve a problem th.t h.s plagued societies th.ough.ut h.story. Growing evidence suggests th.t agricultural systems th.t combine cover crops, reduced tillage, and diverse crop rotations can reduce erosion, enh.nce soil h.alth.and rebuild soil organic matter to cultivate beneficial soil life and h.rvest both.economic and environmental benefits. In th. coming post-oil world, global food security would benefit from a global effort to promote soil restoration to h.lp addresses th. ch.llenge of sustainably feeding th. world, increase soil-based carbon sequestration,protect on-farm biodiversity and reduce off-farm water pollution. Because soil security sets a solid foundation for global food security, agricultural policies and subsidies sh.uld be reformed to encourage farmers to adopt regenerative,soil-building practices.

Macroalgae are multicellular,aquatic autotroph. th.t play vital roles in global climate maintenance and h.ve diverse applications in biotech.ology and eco-engineering,wh.ch.are directly linked to th.ir multicellularity ***,th.ir genomic diversity and th. evolutionary mech.nisms underlying multicellularity in th.se organisms remain *** th.s study,we sequenced 110 macroalgal genomes from diverse climates and ph.la,and identified key genomic features th.t distinguish.th.m from th.ir microalgal *** for cell adh.sion,extracellular matrix formation,cell polarity,transport,and cell differentiation distinguish.macroalgae from microalgae across all th.ee major ph.la,constituting conserved and unique gene sets supporting multicellular *** genes sh.w ph.lum-and climate-specific expansions th.t may facilitate nich. ***,our study reveals genetic determinants of convergent and divergent evolutionary trajectories th.t h.ve sh.ped morph.logical diversity in macroalgae and provides genome-wide frameworks to understand ph.tosynth.tic multicellular evolution in aquatic environments.
