Hybrid AC-DC networks are transforming high-voltage transmission and medium-voltage distribution grids by embracing the advantages of both AC and DC systems,which facilitates the inclusion of renewable energy sources and distributed *** modular multilevel converters(MMCs)are vastly employed in such hybrid networks,determining their maximal fault current in worst-case scenario is a critical design factor for planning and implementation of a reliable protection *** study develops a novel mathematical framework that applies a Lagrangian energy method to calculate the maximal fault *** method allows to account for converter's internal energy and compute its impact on the amplitude of the fault *** is shown when the converter is interfacing weak AC sources with high internal impedance such as wind farms or solar farms,dumping the internal energy of the converter into the fault is the salient contributing factor of the fault ***,to distinguish and classify the output overcurrent as either ignorable transients or destructive faults,a perceptron with sigmoid threshold is *** model is verified using a simulated medium-voltage hybrid AC-DC distribution network.

ETS-1 is a transcription factor that is a member of the E26 transformation-specific(ETS) family. Galanin receptor 2(Gal R2), a subtype of receptors of the neuropeptide galanin, has been shown to have an antidepressant-like effect after activation in rodents. Our previous study has shown that overexpression of ETS-1 increases the expression of Gal R2 in PC12 phaeochromocytoma cells. However, whether ETS-1 has an antidepressant-like effect is still unclear. In this study, we found that chronic mild stress(CMS) decreased the expression of both ETS-1 and Gal R2 in the ventral hippocampus of rats. Meanwhile,we demonstrated that overexpression of ETS-1 increased the expression of Gal R2 in primary hippocampal ***, we showed that overexpression of ETS-1 in the ventral hippocampus counteracted the depression-like behaviors of CMS rats. Furthermore, we found that overexpression of ETS-1 increased the level of downstream phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated protein kinases 1 and 2(p-ERK1/2) of Gal R2 in the ventral hippocampus of CMS rats. Taken together, our findings suggest that ETS-1 has an antidepressant-like effect in rats,which might be mediated by increasing the level of Gal R2 and its downstream p-ERK1/2 in the ventral hippocampus.

This narrative review highlights routes of ocular drug delivery for age-related macular degeneration(AMD).AMD is the leading cause of irreversible blindness in industrialized countries and accounts for 8.7%of blindness *** AMD can be classified into two subtypes:late-stage dry AMD[known as geographic atrophy(GA)]and neovascular AMD(nAMD).GA is often bilateral and results from progressive and irreversible loss of photoreceptors and areas of the retinal pigment *** AMD is characterized by angiogenesis from the choroid to the normally avascular regions underneath the retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)or retina,a process known as choroidal neovascularization(CNV).Various targeted therapeutic options are currently available to reduce the progression rate and maintain vision in patients with *** delivery of anti-VEGF protein treatments to halt CNV is currently the gold-standard of care for *** and suprachoroidal delivery approaches are also being explored for gene and molecular *** in nanotechnology and biomaterials have also led to the development of microscopic drug delivery systems,including hydrogels,microparticles,nanoparticles,implants,and *** therapy and stem cell therapy has recently emerged as a potential candidate treatment modality for AMD and other retinal *** drug targets and modalities have stimulated exciting developments in ocular drug delivery with the promise of greater efficacy and durability of AMD treatment.

Biofilms at the tooth-restoration bonded interface can produce acids and cause recurrent caries. Recurrent caries is a primary reason for restoration failures. The objectives of this study were to synthesize a novel bioactive dental bonding agent containing dimethylaminohexadecyl methacrylate(DMAHDM) and 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine(MPC) to inhibit biofilm formation at the tooth-restoration margin and to investigate the effects of water-aging for 6 months on the dentin bond strength and protein-repellent and antibacterial durability. A protein-repellent agent(MPC) and antibacterial agent(DMAHDM) were added to a Scotchbond multi-purpose(SBMP) primer and adhesive. Specimens were stored in water at 37 °C for 1, 30, 90, or 180 days(d).At the end of each time period, the dentin bond strength and protein-repellent and antibacterial properties were evaluated. Protein attachment onto resin specimens was measured by the micro-bicinchoninic acid approach. A dental plaque microcosm biofilm model was used to test the biofilm response. The SBMP + MPC + DMAHDM group showed no decline in dentin bond strength after water-aging for 6 months, which was significantly higher than that of the control(P 0.1). In conclusion, a bonding agent with MPC and DMAHDM achieved a durable dentin bond strength and long-term resistance to proteins and oral bacteria. The novel dental bonding agent is promising for applications in preventive and restorative dentistry to reduce biofilm formation at the tooth-restoration margin.

A semi-two-stage common-ground-type transformerless dual-buck-based grid-connected inverter is proposed in this *** common-ground-type topology can eliminate common mode(CM)leakage current by connecting the negative terminal of the photovoltaic(PV)directly to the neutral point of the grid,which bypasses the PV array’s stray *** dual-buck-based topology guarantees increased robustness since the dc-link cannot be short-circuited by a shoot-through *** semi-two-stage topology features multi-level characteristic,which has a lower forward-voltage drop and smaller dv/*** with the conventional two-stage inverter,the proposed topology achieves higher efficiency and higher *** results of a 1.5kW prototype show that the proposed inverter is able to achieve high efficiency and low leakage currents.

Facial beauty analysis is an important topic in human *** may be used as a guidance for face beautification applications such as cosmetic *** neural networks(DNNs)have recently been adopted for facial beauty analysis and have achieved remarkable ***,most existing DNN-based models regard facial beauty analysis as a normal classification *** ignore important prior knowledge in traditional machine learning models which illustrate the significant contribution of the geometric features in facial beauty *** be specific,landmarks of the whole face and facial organs are introduced to extract geometric features to make the *** by this,we introduce a novel dual-branch network for facial beauty analysis:one branch takes the Swin Transformer as the backbone to model the full face and global patterns,and another branch focuses on the masked facial organs with the residual network to model the local patterns of certain facial ***,the designed multi-scale feature fusion module can further facilitate our network to learn complementary semantic information between the two *** model optimisation,we propose a hybrid loss function,where especially geometric regulation is introduced by regressing the facial landmarks and it can force the extracted features to convey facial geometric *** performed on the SCUT-FBP5500 dataset and the SCUT-FBP dataset demonstrate that our model outperforms the state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks models,which proves the effectiveness of the proposed geometric regularisation and dual-branch structure with the hybrid *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first study to introduce a Vision Transformer into the facial beauty analysis task.

Our previous work showed that several physiological stimuli,including action potentials,glutamate and neuropeptide orexin,induce somatic nor epinephrine(NE) secretion from locus coeruleus(LC) neurons in brain slices(Huang et al.,2007;Chen et al.,2008).Cocaine,a common drug of abuse,has been shown to affect dopamine release from dopaminergic ***,we used amperometry to test the effect of cocaine on evoked somatodendritic release in LC *** alone cannot trigger NE release in ***,bath application of cocaine notably potentiated depolarization-mediated somatodendritic NE *** cocaine significantly inhibits Na channels,cocaine had no effect on voltage-gated Ca channels in *** with this,the cocaine potentiation of KCl-induced NE release was insensitive to ***,the cocaine effect may be produced by either NE uptake,or presynaptic secretion machinery. These results suggest that,in addition to dopaminergic nerves in basal ganglion,somatodendritic NE release could be another target of the mental effect made by cocaine.

Objective The neuropeptide galanin R2 receptor(GalR2) has a widespreard distribution in the brain and peripheral tissues and it is involved in numerous physiological *** to the lack of specific antibodies to this receptor,we have in our laboratory constructed myc-tagged GalR2(myc- GalR2) and transfected it in HEK293 cell in order to visualize the localization and trafficking of *** The N-terminus of rat GalR2 was tagged with *** transient transfecting myc-GalR2 into HEK293 cell line for 24 hr,the cells were starved for 4 hours and then treated with galanin at 10-7 M for 0-45 min at 37℃.The cells were fixed with 4%paraformaldehyde for 10 min and then undergone immunocytochemical stainning with the specific anti-myc *** images were acquired by using a laser scanning confocal system(Leica SP5).Results Myc-GalR2 was mainly localized on the plasma membrane,in a partial localization in the cytoplasm and internalize after incubation with *** could be seen already after 5 min but appeared maximal at 10-15 *** Myc-GalR2 shows a time-dependent ligand-induced internalization.
