AIM:To investigate the suitability of a modified Hughes procedure,which consists of conjunctival flap with auricular cartilage grafting in reconstructing large full thickness upper and lower eyelid ***:Patients with full thickness eyelid carcinoma involving more than 50%margin length who underwent surgical resection were retrospectively reviewed in the *** defects were reconstructed using conjunctival flap with auricular cartilage grafting,covered with myocutaneous flap ***-up time ranged from 12 to 24 *** were classified as“good”,“fair”,and“poor”by evaluating the margin appearance,eyelid appearance,and ***:A total of 42 patients were enrolled in the study(26 males,16 females,mean age,68.6±7.7 y,range:53 to 82 y).The mean defect widths measured 23.2±2.9 mm(range,17 to 28 mm).The mean posterior lamellar defect height was 5.5±1.3 mm(4 to 8 mm).Thirty-seven patients had a“good”outcome(88.1%),5 patients had a“fair”outcome(11.9%),and no one had a“poor”***:Conjunctival flap with auricular cartilage grafting and myocutaneous flap grafting is an effective procedure in reconstructing large full thickness upper and lower eyelid *** can not only achieve satisfied reconstruction,but also preserve intact tarsal plate of the opposite eyelid,avoiding retraction or entropion.

Purpose: To report an unusual case of retinal microvasculopathy secondary to mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) on a background history of fragile-X syndrome (FXS). Methods: Case report and literature review. Results: A cotton wool spot was discovered in a 29-year-old female who presented with an ischaemic digit secondary to Raynaud’s phenomenon. She also has a background history of MCTD and FXS. Fundus examination and automated perimetry findings were normal. Magnet resonance imaging and computed tomography aortogram did not demonstrate any evidence of vasculitis in the head and neck. She was tested positively for U1-ribonuclear peptide. Interestingly, the re-distribution of Fragile-X related gene 1 has been suggested to trigger autoimmune responses in experiments. This finding makes the case peculiar as it suggests an alternate explanation for this patient’s clinical findings. Conclusion: Retinal vasculopathy is a rare complication of MCTD. The background history of FXS potentially highlights an alternate autoimmune pathogenetic mechanism.

Following a small-scale wedge failure at Yukon Zinc＇s Wolverine Mine in Yukon, Canada, a vibration monitoring program was added to the existing rockbolt pull testing regime. The failure in the 1150 drift occurred after numerous successive blasts in an adjacent tunnel had loosened friction bolts passing through an unmapped fault. Analysis of blasting vibration revealed that support integrity is not compromised unless there is a geological structure to act as a failure plane. The peak particle velocity（PPV） rarely exceeded 250 mm/s with a frequency larger than 50 Hz. As expected, blasting more competent rock resulted in higher PPVs. In such cases, reducing the round length from 3.5 m to 2.0 m was an effective means of limiting potential rock mass and support damage.

Mg is the lightest structural metal with the highest specific strength. It is therefore considered as a solution for vehicular mass reduction so as to reduce the fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emission. Unfortunately, Mg and its alloys are highly susceptible to corrosion, particularly in salt-spray conditions. This has limited its use in the automotive and aerospace industries, where exposure to harsh service conditions is unavoidable. To improve its corrosion resistance it is viable to apply a desirable engineering coating on the Mg *** communication discusses the practical aspects of magnesium surface modification based on our review. A novel immersion coating process is also discussed along with the corrosion behavior of coated and uncoated AZ91 magnesium alloy.

The Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) is a potentially fatal respiratory viral infection that has had outbreaks in the Middle East and Asia region starting in 2012. As recent as 2015, MERS had outbreaks in South Korea, resulting in 36 deaths among 186 infected patients. The purpose of this thesis is to gain an in-depth understanding of how this viral infection behaves in outbreaks and how it is spread around the globe. To gain insight, real time analysis was performed under a case study methodology based on pooled data from the Ministry of Health & Welfare of South Korea. We calculated a striated mortality rate based on gender, age, and the presence of pre-existing health conditions ranging from heart, lung, and kidney diseases. We found that MERS outbreak follows the pattern of a point source outbreak, largely spurred by the patient-referral system under the universal healthcare system in South Korea. The purpose of this case is to discuss the benefits and challenges of such patient referral system, and to offer a possible solution in improving transparency between healthcare providers and the government under a universal healthcare system to prevent future outbreaks.

The summer occurrence and distribution of vibrios in the fishes and shellfishes in the coasal waters of Hong Kong were investigaed. A total of 69 strains of vibrios were isolated from all samples examined. The strains, along with 10 reference strains were classified with the technique of numerical taxonomy bared on 54 characters and 62 of the 69 strains fell into 5 major phena, identified as V. paraheamolyticus (30 strains), V. alginoloticus (23 strains), V. choloerae (3 strains), V. harveyi (2 strains) and V. fluinalis (4 strains). Among them, *** and V. alginolyticus were the predominant species in the fishes, shellfishes and the coastal waters of Hong Kong and comprised 43. 5 % and 33. 3 % of the total Vibrio spp. isolates respectively. Meanwhile, 3 strains of non-Ol V. cholerae were isolated from oyster and it was the first time to record V. cholerae non-Ol in seawater or from shellfishes in Hong Kong. These results highlighted the potential risks of food poisoning associated with raw or undercooked seafood.

韩国化妆品产业主要以出口为基础,化妆品行业以使用高科技技术和提高产品质量、产品创新、发展K品牌为扩张化妆品行业的发展作出了巨大的贡献,增长率也逐渐提升。韩国化妆品行业对华出口产品连续23个月持续减少,产业发展面临种种挑战。韩国化妆品品牌在中国“双十一”活动期间未能顺利进入“十大品牌”排行榜,2022年化妆品年出口额比前一年减少了 13.2%。这些种种挑战表明,韩国化妆品企业必须具备有效引导挑战中国市场的活力,并制定有效的危机管理战略,以提高竞争优势。本文主要研究韩国化妆品行业面临的危机以及韩国化妆品企业在中国市场确保长期经营成果和竞争优势所需的战略变数和动态力量。为了进行双案例研究,对A公司的2名职员和B公司的CEO进行了定性采访,并进行了关于危机情况和动态力量的文献研究。另外,为了保证调查结果的公正合理性,笔者采访了2名韩国国营出口机构负责人。研究调查涉及面对面访谈形式,每个参与者都是单独进行的。面试问题共包括11项询问,随后,从面试中获得的所有主要信息都进行了编码。本研究利用Strauss&Corbin的扎根理论(1990年)分析了原始数据,并进行了开放编码、轴向编码和选择性编码,发现了危机现象、子范畴和类别以及企业的动态能力,通过跨案例比较,发现A公司与B公司在中国市场都经历了共同危机,各公司的动态能力既有共同点又有差异。据笔者调查,韩国化妆品企业在中国市场所面对的危机是由内外因素共同引起的。内部因素包括:内部系统崩溃、韩国企业对中国市场特点的了解不够多、以短期销售为中心,没有积极地研究开发活动等原因。外部因素包括政治因素、新冠肺炎的传播、对中国消费者偏好不够了解等原因。国内化妆品企业为了应对今后的竞争优势和随时可能发生的危机,以面向未来的方式应对危机,进行监督、选定、集中宣传商品,并积极应对危机的影响。研究发现,“对目标消费者消费行为转变的意识不足”是著名的学者格里芬所说的的“企业危机模型的外部问题”产出的一个新的研究结果。韩国化妆品企业必须认识到内外危机发生的各类因素,并据此进行对产品的改善。由于对中国化妆品顾客购买偏好的变化的认识不足,韩国化妆品在中国市场的竞争力正在持续下降。中国消费者不再盲目购买化妆品,开始充分关注产品的成分和功效,但韩国化妆品企业却并没有意识到这一变化。本研究充分突出了公司动态能力的重要性,特别是它们适应不断变化的环境和利用其资源和能力取得长期成功的能力。具体来说,韩国化妆品企业为了能够确保中国市场的竞争优势和长期经营成果,必须具备的五种动态力量和积极主动性、革新性、冒险行动性、财源性等三种动态力量要素。研究表明,公司积极利用主动性、创新性、财政资源、物质资源、人力资源,这些都是david Teece(2007年)强调的“动态能力学者”的关键要素。不幸的是,所研究的公司并不具备在危机期间承担统一的风险的能力,而是通过维持现状来适应这种状况。尽管这些公司相信以企业家为主的公司承担着很高的风险,但由于公司坚持现状,来应对中国不断变化的形势。此外,还发现联合行动和企业社会责任是致力于现有理论的另一个附加要素。另外,此次研究还表明,韩国化妆品企业应该加深对中国消费者的偏好和需求的理解,并根据需求量身定做产品和营销战略。研究结果表明,韩国化妆品企业为了提高在中国市场的竞争力,选择优先构建品牌资产,与中国电子商务平台、当地供应链、中国基础设施等进行合作。本研究最终得出的结论是,韩国化妆品企业要想在中国市场长期取得成功,必须具备解决危机的能力,并加强运营活力。韩国化妆品产业需要采取合适的战略,平衡短期销售与长期管理业绩和可持续性。这样,韩国化妆品企业就可以维持化妆品业界的全球领先地位,持续扩大对世界市场的出口。韩国化妆品企业要想在充满挑战的中国市场有效开拓和成功,必须具备的应对复杂的危机的能力与动力性力量。本研究揭示了该企业在中国面临的种种挑战,为战略决策提供有效的信息,为指导有效的危机管理战略的制定提供了重要的见解,为韩国化妆品公司寻求提高其在中国的竞争优势提供了指导,也为寻求促进化妆品行业增长和革新的决策者和从业人员提供了建议。本研究以危机相关因素和动态能力为重点,对广泛的国际商业和战略管理文献作出了重大贡献,对学术界、研究人员和行业专业人员具备的参考价值。本研究存在局限性,强调需要进一步开展后续研究。虽然它为今后的对韩国化妆品行业的调查提供了一个框架,强调了研究的相关性,但并不是一个更全面的研究。首先,未来的研究拥有比本研究更大的样本量。其次,本研究规模较小,限于特定群体,因此限制了结果的推广性。此外,样本主要来自一个某个特定区域的个人,这可能限制了调查结果对来自其他区域的个人适用。最后,验证提取理论模型在其它公司中的适用性至关重要。

Magnetic resonance imaging of the pancreas in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats: Gadofluorine P and Gd-DOTA

AIM: To investigate the performance of Gadofluorine P-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) on the diagnosis of diabetes in a streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetic rat ***: Fischer 344 rats were treated with *** not treated with STZ served as controls. T1-weighted MRI was performed using a 3T scanner before and after the injection of Gd-DOTA or Gadofluorine P(6 diabetic rats, 5 controls). The normalized signal intensity(SI) and the enhancement ratio(ER) of the pancreas were measured at each time point, and the values were compared between the normal and diabetic rats using the Mann-Whitney test. In addition,the values were correlated with the mean islet *** cut-off values were calculated using a positive test based on receiver operating *** Gd concentration after the injection of each contrast media was measured using laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry in a separate set of rats(4 diabetic rats, 4 controls for Gadofluorine P; 2, 2 for Gd-DOTA).RESULTS: The normalized SI and ER of the pancreas using Gd-DOTA were not significantly different between diabetic rats and controls. With Gadofluorine P, the values were significantly higher in the diabetic rats than in the control rats 30 min after injection(P < 0.05). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve that differentiated diabetic rats from the control group was greater for Gadofluorine P than for Gd-DOTA(0.967 vs 0.667, P = 0.085). An increase in normalized SI 30 min after Gadofluorine P was correlated with a decrease in the mean number of islets(r 2 = 0.510, P = 0.014). Intra-pancreatic Gd was higher in rats with Gadofluorine P injection than Gd-DOTA injection(Gadofluorine P vs Gd-DOTA, 7.37 vs 0.00, P < 0.01). Application of Trichoderma harzianum (T22) and Trichoderma atroviride (P1) as plant growth promoters, and their compatibility with copper oxychloride

Trichoderma strains are used in agriculture because they provide to the plants the following benefits: i) are rhizosphere competence and establish stable rhizosphere microbial communities; ii) control plant disease caused by pathogenic and competitive microflora, by using a variety of mechanisms; iii) improve vegetative growth, root development and yield; iv) make nutrients more available to the plant. In this work we have investigated the ability of T. harzianum T22 and T. atroviride P1 to improve plant growth of locally important horticultural crops: lettuce, tomatoes and peppers and to prevent disease in the greenhouse and field. The effect of the Trichoderma treatment was evaluated by determining the weight of fresh and dry roots and above ground plant biomass, measuring plants height, counting the number of emerged leaves (lettuce, tomatoes and peppers) and quantifying production (tomatoes and peppers). No disease symptoms were found during production, although Fusarium sp. strains pathogenic to tomato were detected in the soil. Compounds containing copper oxychloride are frequently used for fungal disease control in agriculture. In order to investigate the compatibility of T. harzianum T22 and T. atroviride P1 with copper oxychloride applications, the effect on mycelia growth was monitored in both liquid and solid medium. In general, the tests indicated a high level of tolerance of the Trichoderma strains to concentrations of copper oxychloride varying from 0.1 to 5 mmol/L.
