Stochastic weather generators create time series that reproduce key weather dynamics present in long-term *** dataset detailed herein is a large-scale gridded parameterization for CLImate GEnerator(CLIGEn)that fills spatial gaps in the coverage of existing regional CLIGEn parameterizations,thereby obtaining near-global availability of combined *** dataset primarily covers countries north of 40°latitude with 0.25°spatial *** CLIGEn parameters were estimated based on 20-year records from four popular global climate *** parameters were statistically downscaled to estimate point-scale values,while point-scale temperature and solar radiation parameters were approximated by direct calculation from high-resolution *** parameter values were used in some cases,such as with wind ***-validation was done to assess the downscaling approach for six precipitation parameters using known point-scale values from ground-based CLIGEn *** parameter values were derived from daily accumulation records at 7,281 stations and high temporal resolution records at 609 *** sensitive parameters,monthly average storm accumulation and maximum 30-minute intensity,were shown have RmSE values of 1.48 mm and 4.67 mm hr^(−1),*** precipitation and the annual number of days with precipitation occurrence were both within 5%of ground-based parameterizations,effectively improving climate data availability.

BACKGROUnD metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(mASLD),characterised by hepatic lipid accumulation,causes inflammation and oxidative stress accompanied by cell damage and *** injury(LI)is also frequently reported in patients hospitalised with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),while preexisting mASLD increases the risk of LI and the development of COVID-19-associated *** of injury at the cellular level remain unclear,but it may be significant that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)which causes COVID-19,uses angiotensin-converting expression enzyme 2(ACE2),a key regulator of the‘anti-inflammatory’arm of the renin-angiotensin system,for viral attachment and host cell *** to determine if hepatic ACE2 levels are altered during progression of mASLD and in patients who died with severe *** ACE2 protein levels and localisation,and histological fibrosis and lipid droplet accumulation as markers of mASLD were determined in formalin-fixed liver tissue sections across the mASLD pathological spectrum(isolated hepatocellular steatosis,metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis(mASH)+/-fibrosis,end-stage cirrhosis)and in post-mortem tissues from patients who had died with severe COVID-19,using ACE2 immunohistochemistry and haematoxylin and eosin and picrosirius red staining of total collagen and lipid droplet areas,followed by quantification using machine learning-based image pixel *** ACE2 staining is primarily intracellular and concentrated in the cytoplasm of centrilobular hepatocytes and apical membranes of bile duct ***,ACE2 protein levels are elevated in non-fibrotic mASH compared to healthy controls but not in the progression to mASH with fibrosis and in ***2 protein levels and histological fibrosis are not associated,but ACE2 and liver lipid droplet content are significantly correlated across the mASLD *** A

Loss to Specialized Cardiology Follow-Up in Adults Living with Congenital Heart Disease

Background:much has been written about the loss to follow-up in the transition between pediatric and adult Congenital Heart Disease(CHD)care *** less is understood about the loss to follow-up(LtF)after a successful *** is critical too,as patients lost to specialised care are more likely to experience mor-bidity and premature ***:to understand the prevalence and reasons for loss to follow-up(LtF)at a large Australian Adult Congenital Heart Disease(ACHD)***:Patients with moderate or highly complex CHD and gaps in care of>3 years(deﬁned as LtF)were identiﬁed from a comprehensive ACHD *** telephone interviews examined current care and barriers to clinic ***:Overall,407(22%)of ACHD patients(n=1842)were *** mean age at LtF was 31(SD 11.5)years and 54%were male;311(76%)were *** to adults seen regularly,lost patients were younger,with a greater socio-economic disadvantage,and had less complex CHD(pnterviewed 59 patients(14%).the top 3 responses for care absences were“feeling well”(61%),losing track of time(36%),and not needing fol-low-up care(25%).Conclusions:A large proportion of the ACHD population becomes lost to specialised cardiac care,even after a successful *** Australian study reports younger age,moderate complexity defects,and socio-economic disadvantage as predictive of loss to *** study highlights the need for novel approaches to patient-centered service delivery even beyond the age of transition and resources to maintain patient engagement within the ACHD service.

Selective metasomatism of ultramafic cumulates within Archean supracrustal sequences

the neoarchean StorøSupracrustal Belt in SW Greenland comprises a sequence of mature quartzite,metapelite,amphibolite,and ultramafic rocks that underwent amphibolite facies metamorphism during the amalgamation of the mesoarchean Akia terrane and the Eoarchean Færingehavn *** this belt,tourmaline is found in a transition zone between ultramafic and metapelitic rocks,but also occurs as orbicules within the ultramafic *** tourmaline orbicules hosted by ultramafic rocks are reported for the first time in the north Atlantic craton,thus indicating a unique formation *** conducted a comprehensive examination of the petrology,whole-rock and mineral chemistry,and oxygen isotope compositions from borehole samples in the StorøSupracrustal Belt,to elucidate the metasomatic events associated with the formation of the orbicular *** Storøultramafic rocks have high mgO,Cr,and ni contents,with low abundances of REE and HFSE,and preserve a typical cumulate *** features are similar to those of ultramafic cumulates found in other Archean supracrustal belts,suggesting a cumulate origin for the Storøultramafic ***,the morphology and composition of the tourmaline orbicules within these cumulates indicate that they originated from melts with high boron and high water concentrations that infiltrated the ultramafic *** main factor influencing the morphology of the tourmaline orbicules is the silicification of the ultramafic rocks,driven by their lower chemical potential of SiO_(2)compared to the surrounding *** silicification process,in combination with compositional variations of cumulates during fractional crystallization,has contributed to the geochemical diversity observed in Archean ultramafic ***,it is crucial to understand the effects of such selective metasomatism on Archean ultramafic rocks,as this will facilitate the extraction of original information preserved in the early rock record.
