The present study investigated the microstructure,nanomechanics,and corrosion behavior of AlCoCuFeNi high entropy alloys fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM)and laser metal deposition(LMD).The microstructure of SLM-processed specimens was mainly composed of columnar-grained BCC matrix(^90μm in width)and Cu-rich twinned FCC *** columnar grains grew epitaxially along the building direction and exhibited a strong{001}*** comparison,a coarse columnar-grained BCC matrix(^150μm in width)with a strongertexture,rod-like B2 precipitates,and large core-shell structured FCC phases were formed in the LMD-processed specimens due to the higher heat accumulation ***,the LMD-processed specimens showed a lower hardness,wear resistance,and corrosion resistance,but higher creep resistance and reduced Young's modulus than the SLM-processed *** cracks occurred in both types of specimens,which could not be completely suppressed due to Cu segregation.

Engineering the electronic properties of semiconductor-based photocatalysts using elemental doping is an effective approach to improve their catalytic ***,there still remain contradictions regarding the role of the dopants played in ***,ultrathin ZnIn_(2)S_(4)(ZIS) nanosheets with oxygen doping were synthesized by a one-pot solvothermal ***,XPS and raman spectral measurements support the presence of lattice oxygen in the oxygen-doped ZIS(O-ZIS) *** optimum doping of oxygen,the ultrathin O-ZIS nanosheets show enhanced CO_(2)-to-CO conversion activity with a CO_(2)-evolving rate of 1680 μmol h^(-1) g^(-1) under visible light irradiation,which is about 7 times higher than that of the pristine ***-principle calculations support that doping of oxygen in the lattice of ZnIn_(2)S_(4) nanosheets plays a key role in tuning its electronic *** remarkable photocatalytic performance of O-ZIS can be assigned to a synergistic consequence of a unique ultrathin-layered structure and an upward shift of the conduction band minimum(CBM) caused by the oxygen doping into ZIS and the quantum confinement effect(QCE) induced by the decreased particle size after doping as well as to the improved charge separation *** present work offers a simple elemental doping method to promote charge separation at atomic level and illustrates the roles played by oxygen doping in photocatalysis,giving new insights into highly efficient artificial photosynthesis.

New alternatives and inventive renewable energy techniques which encompass both generation and power management solutions are fundamental for meeting remote residential energy supply and demand today, especially if the grid is quasi-inexistent. Solar thermoelectric generators mounted on a dual-axis sun tracker can be a cost-effective alternative to photovoltaics for remote residential household power generation. A complete solar thermoelectric energy harvesting system is presented in this paper for energy delivery to remote residential areas in developing regions. To this end, the entire system was built, modeled, and then validated with the LTspice simulator software via the thermal-to-electrical analogy schemes. Valuable data in conjunction with a novel LTspice circuit were obtained, showing the achievability of analyzing transient heat transfer with the SPICE simulator; however a few of the problems to be solved remain at the practical level. Despite the unusual operation of the thermoelectric modules with the solar radiation, the simulation and measurements were in good agreement, thus validating the new modeling strategy.

To sustain plant growth,development,and crop yield,sucrose must be transported from leaves to distant parts of the plant,such as seeds and *** identify genes that regulate sucrose accumulation and transport in maize(Zea mays),we isolated carbo/iydrafe part/f/ofi/ngf defecf/Ve33(cpd33),a recessive mutant that accumulated excess starch and soluble sugars in mature *** cpd33 mutants also exhibited chlorosis in the leaf blades,greatly diminished plant growth,and reduced ***33 encodes a protein containing multiple C2 domains and transmembrane *** localization experiments showed the CPD33 protein localized to plasmodesmata(PD),the plasma membrane,and the endoplasmic *** also found that a loss-of-function mutant of the CPD33 homolog in Arabidopsis,QUIrKY,had a similar carbohydrate hyperaccumulation *** labeled sucrose transport assays showed that sucrose export was significantly lower in cpd33 mutant leaves relative to wild-type ***,PD transport in the adaxial-abaxial direction was unaffected in cpd33 mutant ***,transmission electron microscopy revealed fewer PD at the companion cell-sieve element interface in mutant phloem tissue,providing a possible explanation for the reduced sucrose export in mutant ***,our results suggest that CPD33 functions to promote symplastic transport into sieve elements.

Based on the parametric analysis of the expanding zone of the vacuum dust suction mouth,the flow in the vacuum dust suction mouth was simulated by computational fluid dynamics(CFD)software,*** effects of the expanding zone parameters on flow simulation were *** results show that simulation effects depend on threshold values of the expanding zone parameters of the dust suction mouth,and the threshold values of the expanding zone can be obtained according to the different structures of the vacuum dust suction mouth and be selected as the geometric parameters in calculating,and also corners of the expanding zone make unobvious difference in calculation accuracy and in computational efficiency compared with no *** simulation results provide practical guidance to the flow simulation on the dust suction mouth.

An 11 year study was conducted to reevaluate the species of stipitate hydnums from the southern United States especially the Great Smoky Mountains and surrounding *** genera evaluated included Bankera herein reduced to synonym with Phellodon,Hydnellum,Sarcodon,and *** of many stipitate hydnum species from this region were abundant but nitrogen depositions during the last 20 years have impacted their *** it became critical to do a definitive study of these fungi using current taxonomic *** species within Hydnellum and Phellodon have a indeterminate type growth often dependant on environmental conditions making discrimination between closely related species difficult without supportive molecular sequence *** sequence data(ITS)was obtained a phylogenetic analyzes were conducted and the sequences were compared to those in GenBank with particular attention to European data.A total of 41 distinct taxa were determined and many of those were confirmed based on morphological data.A specific new combination from Bankera fuligineoalbum to Phellodon fuligineoalbus is made ***,Phellodon brunneoolivaceus is described as new based on morphological and sequence data.

Owing to a unique set of attributes, human pluripotent stem cells （hPSCs） have emerged as a promising cell source for regenerative medicine, disease modeling and drug discovery. Assurance of genetic stability over long term maintenance of hPSCs is pivotal in this endeavor, but hPSCs can adapt to life in culture by acquiring non-random genetic changes that render them more robust and easier to grow. In separate studies between 12.5% and 34% of hPSC lines were found to acquire chromosome abnormalities over time, with the incidence increasing with passage number. The predominant genetic changes found in hPSC lines involve changes in chromosome number and structure （particularly of chromosomes 1, 12, 17 and 20）, remi- niscent of the changes observed in cancer cells. In this review, we summarize current knowledge on the causes and consequences of aneuploidy in hPSCs and highlight the potential links with genetic changes observed in human cancers and early embryos. We point to the need for comprehensive characterization of mechanisms underpinning both the acquisition of chromosomal abnormalities and selection pressures, which allow mutations to persist in hPSC cultures. Elucidation of these mechanisms will help to design culture conditions that minimize the appearance of aneuploid hPSCs. Moreover, aneuploidy in hPSCs may provide a unique platform to analyse the driving for- ces behind the genome evolution that may eventually lead to cancerous transformation.
