In 1985,public Health Reports published a series of papers prepared for a workshop sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and prevention(CDC).1 Building on the seminal work of Jeremy Morris and Ralph paffenbarger jr.,who were among the first to use epidemiological methods to study physical activity(pA),2,3 the workshop itself was the result of a growing scientific understanding of the importance of“physical fitness and exercise for improving the health of the public”.

The Compendium of physical Activities(Compendium)was developed to address consistent assignment of physical activity(pA)intensity values used in pA epidemiology research of the association between pA and health outcomes.1The known protective effects of pA on incident health outcomes traces to the mid-1900s,with over 50 studies examining coronary heart disease(CHD)as the outcome of interest.

脑瘫是儿童运动功能障碍最常见的病因。本文阐释了脑瘫患者中枢神经系统损伤特点、神经肌肉源性发育缺陷以及步态异常三者之间的内在联系。头部MRI是判断大脑损伤情况的金标准,三维步态分析是描述脑瘫患者步态异常的金标准,最近的研究发现遗传学分析在脑瘫的研究中越来越重要。本文还总结了目前对痉挛型脑瘫患者常用的手术治疗方式及疗效。从微观和功能的角度对痉挛型脑瘫患者的肌肉发育缺陷(包括肌力减弱、肌腱短、痉挛和选择性运动控制障碍)的受累情况进行特异性的分析和治疗总结。

Envita’s precision Cancer Care: 35-Fold Improvement in Response Rates

New clinical approaches are imperative beyond the widely adopted National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines, utilized by prominent cancer institutions. Cancer is the leading cause of death among individuals younger than 85 years within the United States. Despite significant technological advances, including the expenditure of hundreds of billions, treatment outcomes and overall survival have not notably improved for most types of advanced cancer over the last several decades. Over the past 24 years, Envita Medical Centers has pioneered a unique form of personalized treatment approach for late-stage and refractory cancer patients, introducing groundbreaking innovations in the field. Our integrated algorithm utilizes advanced genomics, transcriptomics, and highly tailored immunotherapy, resulting in remarkable outcome improvements. This study presents Envita’s innovative personalized treatment algorithms and examines the response outcomes of 199 late-stage cancer patients treated at Envita Medical Centers over a two-year period. Compared to standard of care and palliative chemotherapy, Envita’s treatment demonstrated a remarkable 35-fold improvement in overall response rates (Figure 1). Moreover, 88% of the patients, the majority presenting with Stage 3 or 4 cancer, experienced a 43-fold improvement in quality of life with minimal side effects, as compared to standard of care chemotherapy and palliative care. This revolutionary success is attributed to Envita’s personalized therapeutic algorithms, which incorporate customized immunotherapy. Envita’s precision care approach has also achieved a 100% better response rate compared to over 65 global chemotherapy clinical trials with more than 2700 patients. The results from this study suggest that a wider utilization of Envita’s personalized approach can significantly benefit patients with late-stage and refractory cancer.

目的探讨Ilizarov技术联合髓内钉固定治疗先天性胫骨假关节的疗效。方法采用Ilizarov技术联合髓内钉固定治疗10例先天性胫骨假关节患者。比较手术前后双下肢长度差、AOFAS踝-后足评分,记录术后并发症。结果患者均获得随访,时间9~40个月。术后发生胫骨力线异常3例,针道感染1例。8例患者胫骨假关节一期骨愈合,其中1例一期骨愈合后发生再骨折;2例未一期骨愈合。双下肢长度差末次随访较术前显著性减小(pp>0.05)。结论Ilizarov技术联合髓内钉固定治疗先天性胫骨假关节能有效促进胫骨假关节骨愈合,纠正双下肢不等长,保留患肢踝关节屈伸功能。

Huanglongbing(HLB)is the most devastating disease for citrus *** Liberibacter asiaticus(C Las),vectored by Asian citrus psyllid(ACp,Diaphorina citri Kuwayama),is the most common pathogen causing the *** citrus varieties are highly susceptible to HLB,whereas trifoliate orange(poncirus trifoliata)is considered highly tolerant to *** F1 segregating population and their parent trifoliate orange and sweet orange,which had been exposed to intense HLB pressure for three years,was evaluated for disease symptoms,ACp colonization,C Las titer and tree vigor repeatedly for two to three *** orange and sweet orange showed significant differences for most of the phenotypic traits,and the F1 population exhibited a large variation.A high-density SNp-based genetic map with 1402 markers was constructed for trifoliate orange,which exhibited high synteny and high coverage of its reference genome.A total of 26 quantitative trait locus(QTLs)were identified in four linkage groups LG-t6,LG-t7,LG-t8 and LG-t9,of which four QTL clusters exhibit a clear co-localization of QTLs associated with different *** genome-wide analysis of gene expression in response to C Las infection in‘Flying Dragon’and‘Larger-Flower DpI-50-7’trifoliate orange,85 differentially expressed genes were found located within the QTL *** them,seven genes were classified as defense or immunity protein which exhibited the highest transcriptional change after C Las *** results indicate a quantitative genetic nature of HLB tolerance and identified candidate genes that should be valuable for searching for genetic solutions to HLB through breeding or genetic engineering.

pain is normally treated with oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents and opioids. These drugs are dangerous and are responsible for many hospitalizations and deaths. It is much safer to use topical preparations made from plants to treat pain, even severe pain. Topical preparations must contain compounds that penetrate the skin, inhibit pain receptors such as transient receptor potential cation channels and cyclooxygenase-2, to relieve pain. Inhibition of pain in the skin disrupts the pain cycle and avoids exposure of internal organs to large amounts of toxic compounds. Use of topical pain relievers has the potential to save many lives, decrease medical costs and improve therapy.
