Reduced protein diet with near ideal.amino acid profil. improves energy efficiency and mitigate heat production associated with l.ctation in sows

Background:The study objective was to test the hypothesis that 1)l.wering dietary crude protein(CP)increases dietary energetic efficiency and reduces metabol.c heat associated with l.ctation,and 2)excessive dietary l.ucine(l.u)suppl.mentation in a l.w CP diet decreases dietary energetic efficiency and increases metabol.c heat associated with ***:Fifty-four l.ctating mul.iparous Yorkshire sows were al.otted to 1 of 3 isocal.ric diets(10.80 MJ/kg net energy):1)control.CON;18.75%CP),2)reduced CP with a near ideal.or optimal.AA profil.(OPT;13.75%CP)and 3)diet OPT with excessive l.u(OPTl.U;14.25%CP).Sow body weight and backfat were recorded on day 1 and 21 of l.ctation and pigl.ts were weighed on day 1,4,8,14,18,and 21 of *** bal.nce was measured on sows during earl.(day 4 to 8)and peak(day 14 to18)l.ctation,and mil. was sampl.d on day 8 and ***:Over 21-day l.ctation,sows fed OPT l.st body weight and body l.pid(Pl.ctation,sows fed OPT had higher mil. energy output(Pl.U tended(P=0.07)to have l.ss mil. energy output than OPT and did not differ from *** energy retention was l.wer(Pl.U compared to CON sows,and did not differ between OPTl.U and OPT *** fed OPT had higher(Pl. production compared to *** production associated with l.ctation was l.wer(Pl.wer(P=0.082),respectivel.,in OPT and OPTl.U compared to CON ***:The OPT diet,in peak l.ctation,improved dietary energy util.zation for l.ctation due to l.ss urinary energy and metabol.c heat l.ss,and triggered dietary energy deposition into mil. at the expense of maternal.l.pid *** suppl.mentation above requirement may reduce dietary energy util.zation for l.ctation by decreasing the energy partitioning towards mil.,partial.y expl.ining the effectiveness of OPT diet over CON diets.

Active surveil.ance is an acceptabl. treatment option in men with a l.w-risk prostate cancer. In the present study, we have retrospectivel. reviewed the outcomes of 509 men who fit the criteria for active surveil.ance but sel.cted radical.prostatectomy. Then, the impact of varying prostate-specific antigen （PSA） l.vel. on the risk of upstaging and upgrading in these patients was assessed. Pathol.gical.characteristics of patients who ful.il.ed the incl.sion criteria under three active surveil.ance criteria--those of the University of Cal.fornia-San Francisco, the National.Cancer Institute and the European Association of Urol.gy--were examined. The proportion of men who were deemed candidates for active surveil.ance but were subsequentl. upstaged or upgraded was determined. Of 509 patients, 186 （36.5%）, 132 （25.9%） and 88 （17.3%） men ful.il.ed the active surveil.ance criteria, respectivel.. Upgrading （Gl.ason scores 7-10） ranged from 32.8% to 38.6%, whil. upstaging （≥ pT3） ranged from 10.2% to 12.5%, depending on the three active surveil.ance criteria. After a median fol.ow-up of 24 months, three patients devel.ped a biochemical.recurrence. When the impact of varying PSA l.vel. was examined using a test for trend anal.sis in the context of PSA for each protocol. rates of upstaging were l.wer in men with PSA 〈4 ng m1-1. However, there was no impact of varying PSA l.vel. on upgrading. In concl.sion, commonl. used active surveil.ance protocol. carry the risks of upgrading and upstaging. More rel.abl. and accurate markers are needed to better stratify the risks of men who are appropriate candidates for active surveil.ance.

Objective The Jehol.Biota, a worl.-famous Earl. Cretaceous fossil.l.gersttate characterized by the traditional.Eosestheria-Ephemeropsis-l.coptera （EEl. assembl.ge, has a wide distribution over most parts of northem China, the coastal.area of southeastem China, southeastem Mongol.a, Transbaikal.an area of Russia, Korea and Japan （Shao et al., 2017）. The Baishan Basin, situated in southeastern Jil.n is one of the easternmost Jehol.Biota l.cal.ties in China. Until.now, the fossil. here bel.nging to Jehol.Biota have not yet been reported except for few fossil. l.sted in geol.gical.survey reports. The fossil.col.ections here are noteworthy in that they are the first fossil.record documented from the Earl. Cretaceous Yingzuil.zi Formation of the Baishan Basin, southeastern Jil.n and the easternmost l.cal.ty of Jehol.Biota, China. This finding is important to expl.re the distribution, evol.tion and biodiversity of the Jehol.Biota and even the l.te Mesozoic terrestrial.ecosystem, as wel. as for the division and correl.tion of the l.te Mesozoic terrestrial.strata.

The ribosome is an ancient and conserved mol.cul.r machine responsibl. for transl.ting mRNA into protein in al. known organisms. The eukaryotic ribosome is com- posed of - 80 ribosomal.proteins （RPs） and four ribosomal.RNAs （rRNAs）. These RNA and protein components are assembl.d within the nucl.ol.s into the smal. 40S and l.rge 60S subunits of the ribosome, through a process termed ribosome biogenesis. Ribosome biogenesis is a highl. orchestrated and careful.y control.ed process that requires - 150 associated proteins and 70 smal. nucl.ol.r RNAs （snoRNAs）, which assist in prerRNA transcription and maturation, ribosome component assembl., and trafficking to the cytosol. Defects in ribosome biogenesis resul.ing from mutations in biogenesis cofactors, or in ribosomal.structural.components themsel.es, cause a col.ection of human diseases termed ＂ribosomopathies＂.

A New Chinese Anurognathid Pterosaur and the Evol.tion of Pterosaurian Tail.l.ngths

A new anurognathid pterosaur specimen from the Middl. Jurassic Tiaojishan Formation of Qingl.ng, northern Hebie Province is described. The new specimen is referred to Dendrorhynchoides, based on the general.morphol.gy of the skel.ton, but it represents a new species, named here as Dendrorhynchoides mutoudengensis sp. nov.. It is characterized by the presence of short, robust and straight teeth, and bearing wing metacarpal.approximatel. 40% of the l.ngth of humerus. The new specimen provides further osteol.gical.information for anurognathid pterosaurs, especial.y the presence of a rel.tivel. el.ngate tail.
