Starting from sissotrin (1), a natural isoflavonoid isolated from Trifolium baccarinii (Fabaceae), one new semisynthetic derivative, 6-nitrobiochanin A (1b) and two known derivatives, 8-nitrobiochanin A (1a) and 2",3",4",6"-tetraacetylsissotrin (1c) have been obtained after performing nitration and acetylation reactions. Their structures were assigned after interpretation of their spectrometric (HR-ESI-MS) and spectroscopic (NMR 1D and 2D) data and by comparison with those reported in the literature. The substrate as well as the semisynthetic derivatives were evaluated for their antibacterial activities against six strains. The results reveal that they are inactive or weakly active on the strains tested with the exception of 8-nitrobiochanin A (1a) which showed moderate activity (MIC = 62.5 μg∙ml−1) on Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 43300.

以人口普查标准时点上的人口总体(全国、全国以下各行政区)为研究对象,研究如何利用对总体登记的普查人口名单和覆盖调查人口名单构造的组合式遗漏估计量估计人口普查遗漏人口数。目前各国政府统计部门在人口普查遗漏估计中主要使用单重遗漏估计量,但该方法未包括同时遗漏于这两份调查人口名单的双重遗漏人口,低估了总体普查遗漏人口数。组合式遗漏估计量除了包括单重遗漏人口外,还包括了双重遗漏人口,避免了单重遗漏估计量的缺陷。采取抽样估计和数理模型相结合的方法研究单重遗漏估计量、双重遗漏估计量和组合式遗漏估计量,理论和数据分析结果表明:组合式遗漏估计量在抽样估计精度和遗漏人口数估计上优于单重遗漏估计量,尤其是在分析双重遗漏人口特征和改进未来人口普查登记工作等方面;在使用刀切法近似计算总体的组合式遗漏估计量的抽样方差时,不能忽视等概率人口层之间的协方差,否则可能低估或高估其抽样方差;单重遗漏估计量和组合式遗漏估计量属于有偏估计量,要使用均方误差比较其估计精度。本文创新之处在于,利用原始数据全面演示了单重遗漏估计量、双重遗漏估计量和组合式遗漏估计量及其抽样方差估计量等的详细计算过程,同时讨论了其统计性质,尤其是利用设置的数据模拟了有偏性,有助于中国人口普查遗漏估计方案的科学制定及估计精度的提高。

The atomic-to-molecular gas conversion is a critical step in the baryon cycle of galaxies,which sets the initial conditions for subsequent star formation and influences the multi-phase interstellar *** compiled a sample of 94 nearby galaxies with observations of multi-phase gas contents by utilizing public H_(Ⅰ),CO,and optical IFU data from the Ma NGA survey together with new FAST H_(Ⅰ)*** agreement with previous results,our sample shows that the global molecular-to-atomic gas ratio(R_(mol)≡log M_(H2)/M_(H_(Ⅰ)))is correlated with the global stellar mass surface densityμ_*with a Kendall'sτcoefficient of 0.25 and pless tightly but still correlated with stellar mass and NUV-r color,and not related to the specific star formation rate(sSFR).The cold gas distribution and kinematics inferred from the H_(Ⅰ)and CO global profile asymmetry and shape do not significantly rely on R_(mol).Thanks to the availability of kpc-scale observations of MaNGA,we decompose galaxies into H_(Ⅱ),composite,and AGN-dominated regions by using the BPT *** increasing R_(mol),the fraction of H_(Ⅱ)regions within 1.5 effective radius decreases slightly;the density distribution in the spatially resolved BPT diagram also changes significantly,suggesting changes in metallicity and ionization *** with high R_(mol)tend to have high oxygen abundance,both at one effective radius with a Kendall'sτcoefficient of 0.37(pl *** all parameters investigated here,the oxygen abundance at one effective radius has the strongest relation with global R_(mol).The dependence of gas conversion on gas distribution and galaxy ionization states is *** contrast,the observed positive relation between oxygen abundance(μ_(*))and R_(mol)indicates that the gas conversion is efficient in regions of high metallicity(density).

In Canada,the periodic circulation of West Nile Virus(WNV)is difficult to predict and,beyond climatic factors,appears to be related to the migratory movements of infected birds from the southern United *** hypothesis has not yet been explored in a spatially distributed *** main objective of this work was to develop a spatially explicit dynamic model for the transmission of WNV in Canada,that allows us to explore non-climate related hypotheses associated with WNV transmission.A Cellular Automata(CA)approach for multiple hosts(birds and humans)is used for a test region in eastern Ontario,*** tool is designed to explore the role of host and vector spatial heterogeneity,host migration,and vector feeding *** developed a spatialized compartmental SEIRDS-SEI model for WNV transmission with a study region divided into 4 rectangular *** used 2010–2021 bird data from the eBird project and 2010–2019 mosquito data collected by Ontario Public Health to mimic bird and mosquito seasonal *** considered heterogeneous bird densities(high and low suitability areas)and homogeneous mosquito and human *** high suitability areas for birds,we identified 5 entry points for WNV-infected *** compared our simulations with pools of WNV-infected field collected *** and sensitivity analyses were performed using MATlAB *** results showed good correspondence between simulated and observed epidemics,supporting the validity of our model assumptions and *** analysis showed that a 5%increase or decrease in each parameter of our model except for the biting rate of bird by mosquito(c^(B,M)and mosquito natural mortality rate(d^(M)),had a very limited effect on the total number of cases(newly infected birds and humans),prevalence peak,or date of *** demonstrate the utility of the CA approach for studying WNV transmission in a heterogeneous landscape with multiple hosts.

Optimized Adsorption of Small and Medium Molecules by a Biosorbent Based on Hevea Hulls

In the context of the recovery of agricultural waste, many researches have focused on the preparation of adsorbents from natural waste from fruit trees, egg shells, palm waste or sawdust. This work aims to optimize the preparation of a biosorbent from rubber hulls by studying its ability to adsorb small and medium molecules. The influence of parameters such as drying temperature (X1), particle size (X2), stirring time (X3) and sodium hypochloride mass (X4) was studied. The results indicate that the model used for biosorbent optimization on methylene blue and iodine index is significant. In addition, this model has greater adsorption capabilities on small molecules than with large molecules. Statistical analysis of the data shows that temperature is the most influential factor in the adsorption of small molecules. On the other hand, particle size has a significant influence on the adsorption of large molecules. The optimum biosorbent preparation values are 1.0 for drying temperature (X1), −1.0 for biosorbent grain size (X2), 1.0 for stirring time (X3) and 1.0 for sodium hypochloride mass (X4).

COVID-19 generates systematic alterations in humans both in active stages of infection and over time, called post-COVID syndrome. Cortisol is a hormone that is overexpressed in inflammation and cellular stress processes. Its main function is to return to physiological homeostasis, so its evaluation together with other clinical parameters can allow us to determine the degree of systemic affectation by COVID-19. Objective: To evaluate changes in clinical parameters and plasma cortisol concentrations in patients with active COVID-19 and post-COVID syndrome. Material and Methods: Healthy patients, in stages of mild infection, critical and with post-COVID syndrome, were recruited, obtaining, through clinical diagnoses and interviews, their main clinical characteristics, in addition to plasma, in which cortisol concentrations were determined using competitive ElISA. Results: The critical stage group had higher frequencies of comorbidities, clinical symptoms, as well as more altered laboratory parameters compared to the other subgroups. In the post-COVID syndrome group after the initial infection, most laboratory parameters recovered, however, several clinical symptoms remained latent over time. The determination of cortisol showed an increase in its concentration, being higher in patients in critical stage and with post-COVID syndrome. Conclusion: COVID-19 disease generates clinical alterations that trigger an increase in plasma cortisol. These alterations increase as the stages of infection become more severe and some of them remain altered in patients with post-COVID syndrome.
