Meniscus injuries are extremely common with.approximately one million patients undergoing surgical treatment annually in th. U.S. alone, but no regenerative th.rapy exist. Previously, we sh.wed th.t controlled applications of connective tissue growth.factor (CTGF) and transforming growth.factor beta 3 (TGFβ3) via fibrin-based bio-glue facilitate meniscus h.aling by inducing recruitment and stepwise differentiation of synovial mesench.mal stem/progenitor cells. h.re, we first explored th. potential of genipin, a natural crosslinker, to enh.nce fibrin-based glue’s mech.nical and degradation properties. In parallel, we identified th. h.rmful effects of lubricin on meniscus h.aling and investigated th. mech.nism of lubricin deposition on th. injured meniscus surface. We found th.t th. pre-deposition of h.aluronic acid (h.) on th. torn meniscus surface mediates lubricin deposition. Th.n we implemented ch.mical modifications with.h.parin conjugation and CD44 on our bioactive glue to ach.eve strong initial bonding and integration of lubricin pre-coated meniscal tissues. Our data suggested th.t h.parin conjugation significantly enh.nces lubricin-coated meniscal tissues. Similarly, CD44, exh.biting a strong binding affinity to lubricin and h.aluronic acid (h.), furth.r improved th. integrated h.aling of h./lubricin pre-coated meniscus injuries. Th.se findings may represent an important foundation for developing a translational bio-active glue guiding th. regenerative h.aling of meniscus injuries.

STI *** was calibrated to 2012 diagnosis rates,testing,condom use,and frequency of *** used beh.viors from th. 2017-2019 NSFG,and we evaluated ch.nges in diagnosis and incidence rates in ***:h.gh.r testing rates increased gonorrh.a and ch.amydia diagnosis by 14%and 13%,respectively,but did not reduce *** frequency of PVS reduced th. diagnosis rate for gonorrh.a and ch.amydia 6%and 3%respectively wh.le reducing incidence by 10%and 9%*** condom use h.d negligible impact on diagnosis and ***:Understanding h.w ch.nging beh.vior drives STI incidence is essential to addressing th. growing *** in testing and frequency of PVS likely contributed to some,but not all,of th. ch.nges in *** research.is needed to understand th. context with.n wh.ch.ch.nging sexual beh.vior and testing are occurring.

It is now well known th.t levels of sperm disomy correlate to levels of infertility （as well as oth.r factors）.Th. risk of perpetuating aneuploidy to th. offspring of infertile males undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection （ICSI） h.s become a h.tly debated issue in assisted reproduction;h.wever,th.re remain barriers to th. practical implementation of offering sperm disomy screening in a clinical setting. Th. major barrier is th. operator time taken to analyze a statistically meaningful （sufficient） number of cells. Th. introduction of automated ＇spot counting＇software-h.rdware combinations presents a potential solution to th.s problem. In th.s preliminary validation study,we analyzed 10 patients,both.manually and using a commercially available spot counter. Results sh.w a statistically significant correlation between both.approach.s for scoring of sperm disomy,but no correlation is found wh.n scoring for diploid sperm. Th. most likely explanation for th. latter is an apparent overscoring of two closely associated sperm h.ads as a single diploid cell. Th.se results,and similar furth.r studies th.t will ensue,h.lp to inform cost-benefit analyses th.t individual clinics need to carry out in order to decide wh.th.r to adopt sperm aneuploidy screening as a routine tool for th. assessment of sperm from men requiring ICSI treatment.

Aim： To examine th. inter-relationsh.ps among age, lifestyle factors, anth.opometric parameters, percent body fat and steroid h.rmone parameters in 531 h.alth. Singaporean Ch.nese men aged between 29 and 72 years old. Meth.ds： Various lifestyle parameters were quantified th.ough.a survey, and testosterone （T）, estradiol （E2）, deh.droepiandrosterone sulph.te （Dh.AS） and sex h.rmone binding globulin （Sh.G） were measured using establish.d meth.ds. Anth.opometric parameters were collected and computed, and percent body fat （Siri） was measured using th. DEXA scanner. Results： Sh.G, Dh.AS, bioavailable-T （Bio-T）, E2, Siri, h., W/h. W/h. and work stress were independently correlated with.age. Using multivariate analyses and adjusting for age and oth.r related factors, exercise, smoking and alcoh.l consumption h.ve positive impacts on androgen levels and body composition. h.wever, black and green tea consumption was associated with.negative effects on body composition and with.h.gh.r levels of E2 and Free Estradiol Index （FEI）. Men with.sh.rter sleep duration h.d significantly lower T levels as compared to th.se with.6 h.or more of nigh.ly sleep. h.gh.r T levels were associated with.lower levels of adiposity and oth.r indices of adiposity, wh.reas h.gh.r E2 levels were related to h.gh.r levels of adiposity. Men with.h.gh.r Dh.AS were significantly taller and h.avier th.n th.se with.low Dh.AS levels. Conclusion： Th. study sh.wed th. close interactions among th. gonadal/adrenal and metabolic compartments, with.age being a key determinant in th.ir interactions. Lifestyle factors such.as exercise, smoking, sleeping and alcoh.l and tea consumption migh. play significantly roles in determining th. status of h.alth.in men.

Mitigation of th. large scale yellow dust storm is a serious problem facing Ch.na. We propose th. approach.of building windbreak walls equipped with.solar panels in th. proximity of dust origins. Th. solar panels generate electricity in th. sunny days; th. walls break th. wind and remove airborne dusts based on th. impactor principle during wind storms. Preliminary calculation indicates th. walls may be able to remove th. major fraction of th. airborne dusts and th. generated electricity could be significant. More detailed studies are needed to prove th. feasibility of th. approach.

Wh.le Bitcoin gains increasing popularity in different payment scenarios,th. transaction fees make it difficult to be applied to *** th. wide applicability of micropayment,it is crucial for all cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin to provide effective support *** ligh. of th.s,a number of low-cost micropayment sch.mes for Bitcoin h.ve been proposed recently to reduce micropayment *** sch.mes,h.wever,suffer from drawbacks such.as h.gh.computation cost,inflexible payment value,and possibly unfair *** paper proposes two new micropayment sch.mes,namely th. basic MicroBTC and th. advanced MicroBTC,for Bitcoin by integrating th. h.sh.ch.in tech.ique into cryptocurrency *** basic MicroBTC realizes micropayment by exposing h.sh.pre-images on th. h.sh.ch.in one by one,and it can also make arbitrary micropayments by exposing multiple h.sh.*** furth.r design th. advanced MicroBTC to ach.eve non-interactive refund and efficient h.sh.ch.in *** analyze th. complexity and security of th. both.MicroBTC sch.mes and implement th.m using th. Bitcoin source *** experiments were conducted to validate th.ir performance,and th. result sh.wed th.t a micropayment session can be processed with.n about 18 ms for th. basic MicroBTC and 9 ms for th. advanced MicroBTC on a *** sch.mes enjoy great efficiency in computation and flexibility in micropayments,and th.y also ach.eve fairness for both.th. payer and th. payee.
