Composite thermochemical energy storage(TCES)represents an exciting field of thermal energy storage which could address the issue of seasonal variance in renewable energy ***,there are open questions about their performance and the root cause of some observed *** researchers have observed the breakdown of particles in their production phase,and in their *** study seeks to investigate the underlying cause of this *** and EDX analysis have been conducted on MgCl2 impregnated 13X zeolite composites of differing diameters,as well as LiX *** was done in order to study the level of impregnation of salt into the zeolite matrix,as well as the effect this impregnation process has on the morphology of the *** was conducted using ImageJ software to study the effect of the impregnation process on the diameter of the *** has been found that a by weight impregnation concentration of magnesium chloride of 11.90%for the LiX zeolite,and 7.59%and 5.26%for the large diameter 13X zeolite and the small diameter 13X zeolite respectively has been *** has been found that the impregnation process significantly affects themorphology of 13X zeolite particles,causing large fissures to form,and eventually resulting in the previously found breakdown of these *** has been verified that a primary factor influencing the breakdown of the 13X zeolite particles is the efflorescence and sub-fluorescence phenomena,which leads to a build-up of crystals in the zeolite *** has also been found that prolonged impregnation times and the use of high concentration salt solutions in the soaking process can induce significant crystal growth which also leads to the breakdown of these *** demonstrate that LiX zeolite is the optimum host matrix choice in these *** results will allow for the design of more resilient composite TCES particles.

The productivity, product quality and competitive ability of important agricultural and horticultural plants in many regions of the world may be adversely affected by current and anticipated concentrations of ground-level ozone （O_3）. Exposure to elevated O_3 typically results in suppressed photosynthesis, accelerated senescence, decreased growth and lower yields. Various approaches used to evaluate O_3 effects generally concur that current yield losses range from 5% to 15% among sensitive plants. There is, however, considerable genetic variability in plant responses to O_3.

The IGCP project 455 （2001-2005） is intended to con- tribute to the comprehension of volcano behaviour in different geodynamic settings from a poorly known perspective： the reciprocal influence exerted by volcanoes on their substrate and by the basement on the volcanoes. The main task is to assess the role of this influence in determining natural geological hazards such as eruptions, landslides and earthquakes. The geologic-tectonic control of the substrate on the volcanoes has been usually considered questionable or less important than the conditions of the deep magma source, whereas the control of volcanoes on their basement has even received very little attention. This project improves the comprehension of these phenomena by a strong interdisciplinary approach that ties data on the various geological conditions and heritages of the basement with the deformation processes and geological evolution of different volcanic edifices. We compiled stratigraphic, structural, geomorphological, geophysical, geotechnical, petrographic, geochemical and geochronological data. These data have been transferred to the laboratory-working groups, thus providing realistic numerical and physical simulation even of complex geological structures. Here we present a selection of the main results obtained for some of the studied key volcanoes. Alicudi （Italy） located in a low-tectonic rate setting, Stromboli （Italy） in extensional tectonic setting, Reventador （Ecuador） in compressional setting, and the Northern Volcanic Group of Kamchatka （Russia）, Galeras （Colombia） and Mayon （Philippines） in a transtensional setting.

Valuation Standards Under the Implementation Process of IfRS

In this paper, the authors focus on valuation standards as a result of the mandatory effect of the implementation of International financial Reporting Standards （IfRS）, and more precisely on the context of fair value. The paper assesses the impact concentrate on the IfRS adopter countries and at the same time on the Business Valuation Standards （BVS）, because they provide consistence and comparability, in time and in space, to the valuation even different implementation levels of the accounting information system （AIS）. The results corroborate that rules and practices are not sufficient conditions to create a widespread accounting language, and international institutional standards play an essential role in framing financial reporting characteristics, in order to assist financial analysts and accountants to implement the accounting system and strategies, as well as, on firms to adopt the best valuation practices on their disclosures. Also, the authors recommend that the International Accounting Standards Board [IASB], the Securities and Exchange Commission [SEC], the European Commission [EC] and valuation agencies should now devote their efforts to harmonizing valuation standards rather than harmonizing accounting standards.

We have investigated the behavior of two nanotube systems,carbon and boron nitride,under controlled applied voltages in a high-resolution transmission electron microscope(TEM)equipped with a scanning tunneling microscope(STM)*** nanotubes(or thin bundles)were positioned between a piezo-movable gold electrode and a biased(up to±140 V)STM tip inside the pole-piece of the *** structures studied include double-and multi-walled carbon nanotubes(the latter having diverse morphologies due to the various synthetic procedures utilized),few-layered boron nitride nanotube bundles and multi-walled boron nitride nanotubes(with or without functionalized surfaces).The electrical breakdown,physical failure,and electrostatic interactions are documented for each system.

In this article, we review on narrowband photon pairs produced in nonlinear crystals, and especially in atomic ensembles. In atomic ensembles, ＂write-read＂ process in pulse mode and spontaneous four-wave mixing process （SfWM） in continuous mode are two popular photon pair generation schemes. We specifically discuss the experimental works with continuous SfWM scheme in cold atomic ensembles. Photon pairs produced in these systems are characteristic of controllable long coherence time, and therefore are accessible with direct temporal modulation. We elaborate on the recent techniques on modulation and waveform reshaping of narrow-band paired photons.

1 Technology of natural materials Early man used conveniently shaped stones as tools. ＂Workshop＂ areas have been found with large numbers of stones, some showing signs of being worked. However, organic materials like wood will decay under normal wet conditions in the presence of oxygen, so we won＇t find the same sort of evidence for wooden tools. It is safe to assume that early man used sticks as probes and clubs, and maybe even for making some sort of nestlike protection against the elements and predators, since we see chimpanzees and other animals doing this sort of thing. So wood, and ahnost certainly other plant materials such as fibrous leaves, and bone and other materials gleaned from dead animals, would be used from the earliest times. We need to know this in order to establish the idea that Man can be expected to have a long history of the use and manipulation of natural materials. This needs skills in choosing materials for certain uses on the basis of their mechanical properties, whether those properties are to do with the ease of shaping the material or the effectiveness of that material in use. Occasionally the material was chosen simply because it was readily available. If we find that a particular material was always used for a certain job, it＇s reasonable to deduce that Man was exerting materials selection criteria through experience.
