Point-of-care ultrasound(POCUS)is a core component of emergency medicine(EM)residency training used to guide medical decision making and to enhance procedural competence.[1-3]Many repetitions of POCUS exams are required to achieve competency,and it is difficult to quantify a minimum needed to achieve mastery.[4,5]For EM residents whose career goals require greater depth of knowledge and skill in POCUS,educators can consider expanded training through a professional development track.

The numerical and computing performance of the new numerical scheme is illustrated on a set of large 3d convection-diffusion problems;preliminary experiments on linear systems arising from structural mechanics are also reported.

The transverse momentum spectra of different types of particles produced in central and peripheral gold–gold(Au–Au)and inelastic proton–proton(pp)collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider,as well as in central and peripheral lead-lead(Pb–Pb)and pp collisions at the Large Hadron Collider,are analyzed by the multi-component standard(Boltzmann–Gibbs,Fermi–dirac,and Bose–Einstein)*** obtained results from the standard distribution give an approximate agreement with the measured experimental data by the STAR,PHENIX,and ALICE *** behavior of the effective(kinetic freeze-out)temperature,transverse flow velocity,and kinetic freeze-out volume for particles with different masses is obtained,which observes the early kinetic freezeout of heavier particles as compared to the lighter *** parameters of emissions of different particles are observed to be different,which reveals a direct signature of the mass-dependent differential kinetic *** is also observed that the peripheral nucleus–nucleus(AA)and pp collisions at the same center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair are in good agreement in terms of the extracted parameters.

We report the overall rate, locations and predictive factors of positive surgical margins （PSMs） in 271 patients with high-risk prostate cancer. Between April 2008 and October 2011, we prospectively collected data from patients classified as d＇Amico high-risk who underwent robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. Overall rate and location of PSMs were reported. Stepwise logistic regression models were fitted to assess predictive factors of PSM. The overall rate of PSMs was 25.1% （68 of 271 patients）. Of these PSM, 38.2% （26 of 68） were posterolateral （PL）, 26.5% （18 of 68） multifocal, 16.2% （11 of 68） in the apex, 14.7% （10 of 68） in the bladder neck, and 4.4% （3/68） in other locations. The PSM rate of patients with pathological stage pT2 was 8.6% （12 of 140）, 26.6% （17 of 64） of pT3a, 53.3% （32/60） of pT3b, and 100% （7 of 7） of pT4. In a logistic regression model including pre-, intra-, and post-operative parameters, body mass index （odds ratio [OR]. 1.09; 95% confidence interval [CI]： 1.01-1.19, P = 0.029）, pathological stage （pT3b or higher vs pT2; OR： 5.14; 95% Ch 1.92-13.78; P = 0.001） and percentage of the tumor （OR： 46.71; 95% CI： 6.37-342.57; P 〈 0.001） were independent predictive factors for PSMs. The most common location of PSMs in patients at high-risk was the PL aspect, which reflects the reported tumor aggressiveness. The only significant predictive factors of PSMs were pathological outcomes, such as percentage of the tumor in the specimen and pathological stage.

BACKGROUNd:Studies looking at the effect of hospital teaching status on septic shock related in-hospital mortality are *** aim of this study was to examine the effect of hospital teaching status on mortality in septic shock patients in the United ***:This was a retrospective observational study,using the Nationwide Emergency department Sample database(released in 2018).All patients with septic shock were *** sample logistic regression was performed to assess the impact of hospital teaching status on patient ***:A total of 388,552 septic shock patients were included in the *** average age was 66.93 years and 51.7%were *** of the patients presented to metropolitan teaching hospitals(68.2%)and 31.8%presented to metropolitan non-teaching *** shock patients presenting to teaching hospitals were found to have a higher percentage of medical comorbidities,were more likely to be intubated and placed on mechanical ventilation(50.5%vs.46.9%)and had a longer average length of hospital stay(12.47 d vs.10.20 d).Septic shock patients presenting to teaching hospitals had greater odds of in-hospital mortality compared to those presenting to metropolitan non-teaching hospitals(adjusted odd ratio[OR]=1.295,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.256-1.335).CONCLUSION:Septic shock patients presenting to metropolitan teaching hospitals had significantly higher risks of mortality than those presenting to metropolitan non-teaching *** also had higher rates of intubation and mechanical ventilation as well as longer lengths of hospital stay than those in non-teaching hospitals.

Effect of the Copper and Iron Concentration on Gum Formation in Gas Oil of Baiji Refinery

In this research, the affect of storage time and different metals concentration of copper and iron on gum formation in gas oil is investigated. A study of the affect of gum content on properties of sample is performed, where the gas oil derived from （Kirkuk crude oil） have boiling point range （266-420）℃. For this purpose, a gas oil sample has been doped with these two metals ions at concentration levels of 0.5, 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 μg mL-1. Washed gum content tests have been carried out using ASTM d-381 on samples stored for 8, 16, 24 and 32 days. The experimental results show that an increase in storage time and metal concentration strongly increases the rate of gum formation for all metal investigations and this increase in gum concentration affects the viscosity of samples towards increasing of viscosity.
