＜正＞We present an autonomous domain-independent architecture for the learning and playing of two-person perfect-information *** approach integrates weak tree-search strategies with dynamic programming/temporal difference methods for neural-network learning of evaluation functions of game states,and utilizes a network based upon localizable receptive field functions which is particularly suited for classification and evaluation *** system learns while playing,and trains itself using the intermediate computations resulting from the limited tree-search used during *** results relating the effects of the localization of the evaluation net,the use of intermediate tree-search results,and the size of the neural network’s hidden layer are presented for the games,tic-tac-toe and lose-tic-tac-toe. In particular,we found that a neural net with b-spline local receptive field functions was far more suited to learning the evaluation function than a traditional backpropagauon network,and that learning from the intermediate computations of limited tree-searches greatly improved the robustness and quality of play.
