Few stud.es have been cond.cted.on the incid.nce and.factors which contribute to road.traffic collisions in Trinid.d. In ord.r to fill this gap in knowled.e, we cond.cted.knowled.e, attitud.s and.practice (KAP) stud. among d.ivers to d.termine which factors contributed.to these accid.nts. A questionnaire was d.veloped.and.ad.inistered.using a cross-sectional approach among 3000 persons living in 5 d.fferent areas of Trinid.d. The collected.d.ta were analysed.using SPSS version 22, t-test and.multivariate analysis. Of the 2998 respond.nts, at least 572 (19.1%) had.been involved.in one or more road.collisions. While only 46.7% of respond.nts always wore seat belts, approximately 93% believed.strongly that their use was essential for safety—a 3-fold.increase in that found.in a previous stud.. The multiple regression analysis ind.cated.that attitud. and.age were significantly associated.with accid.nts and.increased.risk for accid.nts. The results showed.that alcohol consumption, use of mobile phones while d.iving, speed. and.age were significantly (p > 0.001) associated.with accid.nts. In conclusion, most respond.nts were aware of traffic laws and.regulations, but their knowled.e and.practice often d.verged. However the improvement in attitud. to seat-belt wearing suggests that a holistic d.iver ed.cation program may improve d.iver practice and.ad.erence to the road.traffic regulations in Trinid.d.

This paper presents a mod.l to simulate the monotonic and.cyclic behaviours of weakly cemented.*** elastoplastic constitutive mod.l within the framework of bound.ng surface plasticity theory is ad.pted.to pred.ct the mechanical behaviour of soft sand.tone und.r monotonic and.cyclic load.ngs. In this mod.l, the load.ng surface always passes through the current stress state regard.ess of the type of load.ng. d.struction of the cementation bond. by plastic d.formation in the mod.l is consid.red.as the primary mechanism responsible for the mechanical d.grad.tion of loosely cemented.sand./weak *** mod.l cyclic response, the unload.ng plastic and.elastic mod.li are formulated.based.on the load.ng/reload.ng plastic and.elastic mod.li. The proposed.mod.l was implemented.in FLAC2d.and.evaluated.against laboratory triaxial tests und.r monotonic and.cyclic load.ngs, and.the mod.l results agreed.well with the experimental observations. For cyclic tests, hysteresis loops are captured.with reasonable accuracy.

Fused.filament fabrication (FFF) has been wid.ly used.to d.velop prototypes as well as functional parts owing to its capability for creating parts with complex geometries in a short time without the specific requirement of tooling. The mechanical properties of parts prod.ced.by FFF exhibit 70%-80% of the mechanical properties of parts prod.ced.by injection mold.ng. The mechanical properties of FFF-prod.ced.parts are primarily d.pend.nt on the selection of various process variables. The mechanical properties of the part can be enhanced.through the proper selection of process variables. In the present experimental investigation, the effects of the process variables, viz. raster angle, layer height, and.raster wid.h on the flexural properties of FFF-printed.polylactic acid.(PLA) is stud.ed. The result shows that flexural strength is primarily influenced.by layer height followed.by raster angle. The sample printed.with 100-μm layer height and.0° raster angle exhibits a higher tensile strength. Further, the microscopic examination of the d.formed.specimen is performed.to und.rstand.the mod. of failure. Specimens printed.at d.fferent raster angles show d.fferent mod.s of failure.

The presence of Total coliform, Eschericha coli and.enterococci were enumerated.in the cattle farming areas of the Oconee Watershed.using colilertTM and.enterolertTM Id.XX plates, respectively. Microbial Source Tracking (MST) using Bacteroid.les molecular markers for ruminant (RuBac) and.human (HuBac) specific bacterial groups were used.to d.termine the source of the fecal pollution in the watershed. In the cattle farming regions of the watershed.higher levels of fecal bacteria were d.tected.compared.to the levels of fecal bacteria at the forested.and.resid.ntial sites. MST ind.cated.that the cattle farming regions (except d.2) of the lake was impacted.by fecal pollution from a ruminant source such as cattle. In ad.ition, qPCR for the tuf gene of E. coli and.the Stx2 gene that is commonly found.in enterohemorragic E. coli O157:H7 were used.to evaluate the presence of these bacteria in the stud. area. E. coli O157:H7 (Stx2 gene) was d.tected.only in the beef cattle regions of the watershed. The presences of E. coli and.Stx2 gene in the Oconee Watershed.represent a potential public health risk because Lake Oconee and.its tributaries are used.for recreational activities as well as crop irrigation.

Photosynthetic capacity for heritage (Taewa) and.mod.rn potato cultivars were compared.at d.fferent water and.nitrogenregimes in the glasshouse and.field. The glasshouse was 2*2*4 factorial d.sign with two irrigation: 100% ET and.60% ET;two applied.N: 50 kg N ha-1 and.200 kg N ha-1, two Taewa (Moe Moe, Tutaekuri) and.two mod.rn potatoes (Moonlight, Agria). The 2009/2010 field.experiment was a split-plot, with irrigation and.rain-fed.regimes as the main treatments: four potatoes above were sub-treatments. The 2010/2011 field.experiment was a split-split-plot, with three water regimes as the main treatments: three cultivars (Moe Moe, Tutaekuri, and.Agria) were subplots;two N rates were sub-sub-treatments. Gaseous exchange was measured.by CIRAS-2 at d.fferent d.ys from emergence. Leaf water potential was measured.using pressure chamber method. Taewa achieved.high photosynthetic WUE in glasshouse and.2010/2011 experiment by maintaining high An, low gs and.low Ci compared.to mod.rn cultivars (p The An, gs and.T increased.with irrigation and.N increase while d.creasing Ci (p d.VPd.resulting in low An and.photosynthetic WUE in Moonlight in the glasshouse. The leaf water potential for Taewa was very tolerant while mod.rn potatoes were weakened.by water stress. The stud. ind.cated.that Taewa can be sched.led.at partial irrigation without more d.trimental effects on photosynthetic capacity while mod.rn potatoes need.full irrigation to avoid.d.trimental effects on photosynthetic capacity.

d.ar Sir.With interest we have read.the article of Ozbek et al. [ 1 ] regard.ng a possible association of the 5-HTTLPR gene polymorphism and.lifelong premature ejaculation （PE） in Turkish men. However, by performing a reanalysis of their d.ta in Table 1, we found.major insufficiencies that seriously d.minish the valid.ty of their conclusion that there is a higher prevalence of SS genotype in men with lifelong PE. Apart from the fact that in Table 1, the total number of patients and.controls should.be 69 instead.of 70, our reanalysis of their patient d.ta showed.that the observed.number of genotypes in their patients is not in Hard. The solubility, ind.ction period.and.nucleation parameters of pure and.amino acid. like L-arginine, L-lysine and.L-alanine d.ped.potassium d.hyd.ogen phosphate (Kd.) crystals have been d.termined. Solubility stud. of pure and.amino acid. d.ped.Kd. crystals were carried.out for d.fferent temperatures. The ind.ction period.was measured.at d.fferent supersaturation level. The nucleation parameters like interfacial tension, rad.us of critical nucleus and.energy of formation were calculated.based.on the classical theory of nucleation. Values of d.fferent parameters were found.to be larger for amino acid.d.ped.crystals than pure Kd. crystal.
