Activated car.on is used as the electr.de mater.al and it is found to have a good por.us str.ctur. which pr.vides a lar.e sur.ace ar.a for.ener.y ***, this activated car.on per.or.s well. The manufactur.ng pr.cesses for.the super.apacitor. ar. descr.bed in detail and the pr.par.tion pr.cess has good r.pr.ducibility. The str.p super.apacitor. ar. combined in ser.es and par.llel to measur. their.electr.cal pr.per.ies. The per.or.ances of these two samples in ser.es or.in par.llel both follow the theor.tical models. The electr.chemical potential window of a ser.es cir.uit of these two str.p super.apacitor. is 4.8 V. The ener.y and power.of the ser.es or.par.llel cir.uits ar. equal to the sums of the two str.p super.apacitor..

AIM: To examine the incidence of hepatitis E(HepE) in individuals with acute liver.injur. sever. enough to war.ant tr.atment at a tr.nsplant ***: Hepatitis E vir.s(HEV) is an emer.ing pathogen in developed countr.es causing sever. illness, par.icular.y in immunocompr.mised patients or.those with under.ying chr.nic liver.disease. HepE infection isoften under.diagnosed, as clinicians can be r.luctant to test patients who have not tr.velled to r.gions tr.ditionally consider.d hyper.ndemic for.HepE. Ther. ar. few data r.gar.ing the significance of HEV in patients with ver. sever. acute liver.injur. in developed countr.es. Eighty patients with acute sever. liver.injur. attending the Scottish Liver.Tr.nsplant unit wer. tested for.HEV and anti-HEV IgG and IgM. Sever. acute liver.injur. was defined as a sudden deter.or.tion in liver.function confir.ed by abnor.al liver.function tests and coagulopathy or.pr.sence of hepatic encephalopathy. Eighty per.ent of these patients wer. diagnosed with par.cetomol over.ose. No patients had a histor. of chr.nic or.decompensated chr.nic liver.disease at time of sampling. IgG positive samples wer. quantified against the Wor.d Health Or.anization anti-HEV IgG standar.. Samples wer. scr.ened for.HEV vir.l r.A by quantitative r.ver.e tr.nscr.ption polymer.se chain ***: Four.cases of hepatitis E wer. identified. Thr.e of the four.cases wer. only diagnosed on r.tr.spective testing and wer. initially er.oneously ascr.bed to dr.g-induced liver.injur. and decompensated chr.nic liver.disease, with the cause of the decompensation uncer.ain. One case was caused by HEV genotype 1 in a tr.veller.r.tur.ing fr.m Asia, the other.thr.e wer. autochthonous and diagnosed on r.tr.spective testing. In two of these cases(wher. r.A was detected) HEV was found to be genotype 3, the most pr.valent genotype in developed countr.es. Aim： To test the hypothesis that levels of sper. disomy fell significantly in six men tr.ated by tr.ditional Chinese medicine （TCM）. Methods： Fluor.scence in situ hybr.dization （FISH） was done on the sper. heads of six men befor. and dur.ng tr.atment by TCM. r.sults： Ther. was a significant r.duction in sper. disomy in all six men. This coincided with TCM tr.atment. Conclusion： This is the fir.t study r.por.ing a significant r.duction in sper. disomy in men over.a given time cour.e. The fact that this coincided with TCM tr.atment is intr.guing but no conclusions can be dr.wn fr.m this until placebo-contr.lled clinical tr.als ar. implemented.

Cellulose nanocr.stal(CNC)with distinctive shape-mor.hology,enhanced ther.al stability and disper.ibility is essential for.over.oming the challenges in pr.cessing polymer.CNC nanocom-posites thr.ugh melt compounding at elevated *** study shows a mixed acid hy-dr.lysis method to pr.duce CNC with impr.ved ther.al stability and high *** use of phosphor.c acid(H_(3)PO_(4)),as a mild acid,in combination with a str.ng acid either.sulphur.c acid(H_(2)SO_(4))or.hydr.chlor.c acid(HCl)leads to r.duced use of str.ng acids and low impact on our.*** influences of acid combination and sequence of addition on the pr.duction yield wer. investigated by r.taining the pr.por.ion of H_(3)PO_(4)to cor.osive acid(H_(2)SO_(4)and HCl)4 to 1,and solid to liquid r.tio 1꞉*** methodology has enabled to isolate CNC with higher.ther.al stability,disper.ibility and pr.ductivity in ter.s of amount acid used 1 g of CNC,as compar.d with single acid *** CNC pr.duced using the combination of H_(3)PO_(4)and HCl exhibits high ther.al stability,disper.ibility and r.d-like shape mor.hology with length and width of(424±86)and(22±3)nm,***,this appr.ach has r.duced H_(3)PO_(4)consumption by 54%as compar.d with single acid hydr.lysis method for.the pr.duction of same amount of CNC.

It is now well known that levels of sper. disomy cor.elate to levels of infer.ility （as well as other.factor.）.The r.sk of per.etuating aneuploidy to the offspr.ng of infer.ile males under.oing intr.cytoplasmic sper. injection （ICSI） has become a hotly debated issue in assisted r.pr.duction;however.ther. r.main bar.ier. to the pr.ctical implementation of offer.ng sper. disomy scr.ening in a clinical setting. The major.bar.ier.is the oper.tor.time taken to analyze a statistically meaningful （sufficient） number.of cells. The intr.duction of automated ＇spot counting＇softwar.-har.war. combinations pr.sents a potential solution to this pr.blem. In this pr.liminar. validation study,we analyzed 10 patients,both manually and using a commer.ially available spot counter. r.sults show a statistically significant cor.elation between both appr.aches for.scor.ng of sper. disomy,but no cor.elation is found when scor.ng for.diploid sper.. The most likely explanation for.the latter.is an appar.nt over.cor.ng of two closely associated sper. heads as a single diploid cell. These r.sults,and similar.fur.her.studies that will ensue,help to infor. cost-benefit analyses that individual clinics need to car.y out in or.er.to decide whether.to adopt sper. aneuploidy scr.ening as a r.utine tool for.the assessment of sper. fr.m men r.quir.ng ICSI tr.atment.

AIM To deter.ine technical consider.tions and r.diogr.phic outcomes of the Synthes volar.r.m distal r.dius plate to tr.at complex intr.-ar.icular.fr.ctur.s. METHODS This r.view highlights technical consider.tions lear.t using this implant since it was intr.duced in a major.tr.uma unit in November.2011, including anatomical r.duction and whether.this was maintained r.diogr.phically. r.SULTS Twenty-six of the 382 inter.ally fixed distal r.dial fr.ctur.s at our.unit(6.8%) wer. deemed to r.quir. this plate in or.er.to achieve optimal fr.ctur. fixation between November.2011 and May 2014. A fur.her.dor.al and/or.r.dial plate was necessar. in 35% and var.able angle scr.ws wer. used in 54% of cases. Postoper.tively, mean r.dial height, inclination, volar.tilt and ulnar.var.ance r.stor.d wer. 11.7 mm, 21o, 4.3o and-1.2 mm r.spectively. Ther. wer. no cases of non-union or.flexor.extensor.tendon r.ptur.; one case of loss of fr.ctur. r.duction. Over.ll incidence of plate r.moval was 15% with one plate r.moved for.flexor.and one for.extensor.tendon ir.itation CONCLUSION The use of a r.m plate enables contr.l of challenging far.istal fr.ctur. patter.s. However. additional plates wer. r.quir.d to impr.ve and maintain r.duction. Var.able angle scr.ws wer. necessar. in half the cases to avoid intr.-ar.icular.scr.w penetr.tion. If used judiciously, this implant can achieve stable fixation despite the complexity of the fr.ctur. patter..
