Progression of e-ticketing implementation for state transportation agencies for asphalt materials

e-ticketing,which has b.e. promoted by the Federal Highway Administration(FHWA)“every day counts”(eDC)initiative,utilizes software applications to digitally track and store information regarding highway construction materials paid by state transportation agencies(STAs)by weight in unit bid contract *** often face implementation barriers such as institutional inertia,or the resistance by stakeholders to adopt changes from the status quo,including new *** purpose of this paper is to determine the progression of STA e-ticketing policy adoption,specifically with a focus on asphalt paving operations,due to the COVID-19 *** accomplish this research effort,previous FHWA data,National Cooperative Highway Research Program(NCHRP)data,and other literatures are reviewed to determine an implementation *** data is collected from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Committee on Con-struction to gain current feedback from STAs and their highway contractor partners after the COVID-19 ***,a case study featuring the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet(KYTC),the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors(KAHC),and the Plantmix Asphalt Industry of Kentucky(PAIKY)is performed to provide more in-depth *** major finding includes a statistically significant result indicating increased imple-mentation of e-ticketing for asphalt operations within the last two years,along with noting benefits including employee safety,task loading,and project documentation along with concerns regarding cellular connectivity and procurement *** findings indicate the importance of STAs investing in partnership with con-tractors to improve stakeholder buy-in before proceeding towards e-ticketing adoption.

Fluoride contamination in groundwater:A global review of the status,processes,challenges,and remedial measures

Rational molecular design of efficient yellow-red dendrimer TADF for solution-processed OLeDs: a combined effect of substitution position and strength of the donors

The development of high-performance solution-processed red organic light-emitting diodes(OLeDs) remains a challenge,particularly in terms of maintaining efficiency at high luminance. Here, we designed and synthesized four novel orange-red thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF) dendrimers that are solution-processab.e. 2GCz bP, 2DPACz bP, 2FbP2GCz and 2FbP2DPACz. We systematically investigated the effect of substitution position and strength of donors on the optoelectronic properties. The reverse intersystem crossing rate constant(kRISC) of the emitters having donors substituted at positions 11and 12 of the dibenzo[a,c]phenazine(bP) is more than 10-times faster than that of compounds substituted having donors substituted at positions 3 and 6. Compound 2DPACz bP, containing stronger donors than 2GCz bP, exhibits a red-shifted emission and smaller singlet-triplet energy splitting, Δe_(ST), of 0.01 e V. The solution-processed OLeD with 10 wt% 2DPACz bP doped in m CP emitted at 640 nm and showed a maximum external quantum efficiency(eQe_(max)) of 7.8%, which was effectively maintained out to a luminance of 1,000 cd m-2. Such a device's performance at relevant display luminance is among the highest for solution-processed red TADF OLeDs. The efficiency of the devices was improved significantly by using 4Cz IPN as an assistant dopant in a hyperfluorescence(HF) configuration, where the 2DPACz bP HF device shows an eQemaxof 20.0% at λeL of 605 nm and remains high at 11.8% at a luminance of 1,000 cd m-2, which makes this device one of the highest efficiency orange-to-red HF SP-OLeDs to date.

An inulin-type fructan CP-A from Codonopsis pilosula attenuates experimental colitis in mice by promoting autophagy-mediated inactivation of NLRP3 inflammasome

Inulin-type fructan CP-A,a predominant polysaccharide in Codonopsis pilosula,demonstrates regulatory effects on immune activity and *** efficacy of CP-A in treating ulcerative colitis(UC)is,however,not *** study employed an in vitro lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced colonic epithelial cell model(NCM460)and an in vivo dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced colitis mouse model to explore CP-A’s protective effects against experimental colitis and its underlying *** monitored the clinical symptoms in mice using various parameters:body weight,disease activity index(DAI),colon length,spleen weight,and histopathological ***,molecular markers were assessed through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(eLISA),quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),immunofluorescence(IF),immunohistochemistry(IHC),and Western blotting *** showed that CP-A significantly reduced reactive oxygen species(ROS),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),and interleukins(IL-6,IL-1β,IL-18)in LPS-induced cells while increasing IL-4 and IL-10 levels and enhancing the expression of Claudin-1,ZO-1,and occludin proteins in NCM460 ***,in vivo findings revealed that CPA administration markedly improved DAI,reduced colon shortening,and decreased the production of myeloperoxidase(MPO),malondialdehyde(MDA),ROS,IL-1β,IL-18,and NOD-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)inflammasome-associated genes/proteins in UC ***-A treatment also elevated glutathione(GSH)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)levels,stimulated autophagy(LC3b,P62,beclin-1,and ATG5),and reinforced Claudin-1 and ZO-1 expression,thereby aiding in intestinal epithelial barrier repair in colitis ***,the inhibition of autophagy via chloroquine(CQ)diminished CP-A’s protective impact against colitis in *** findings elucidate that CP-A’s therapeutic effect on experimental colitis possibly involves mitigating intestinal inflammation through autophagymediated N

D-A-D-structured boron-dipyrromethene with aggregation-induced enhanced phototherapeutic efficiency for near-infrared fluorescent and photoacoustic imaging-guided synergistic photodynamic and photothermal cancer therapy

Clinical phototheranostic agents suffer from low absorption in near-infrared（NIR） region, decreasing singlet oxygen quantum yield（1O2QY） caused by aggregation in water, and low photothermal conversion efficiency（PCe）, all of which are factors weakening their phototheranostic efficacy. Herein, we designed and synthesized a donor-acceptor-donor（D-A-D） structured boron-dipyrromethene derivative（b-2TPA） which exhibited NIR absorption and fluorescence. After being encapsulated in amphiphilic distearoyl phosphoethanolamine polyethyleneglycol 2000（DSPe-PeG-2000）, the water-solub.e.b-2TPA nanoparticles（NPs）had increasing1O2QY（6.7%） due to the intermolecular aggregation-induced decrease in the energy gap between singlet and triplet excited states. Moreover, the quenched fluorescence and stab.e.twisted intramolecular charge transfer in aggregates further increased the PCe of b-2TPA NPs to 60.1%. In vitro and in vivo studies confirmed that b-2TPA NPs could be used in NIR fluorescence and photoacoustic imagingguided synergistic photodynamic and photothermal therapy in tumor treatment.
