Background:Forests are used for multiple purposes worldwide,which often include timber harvest,firewood extraction and livestock raising.An excessive pressure on multipurpose systems may decrease soil cover,promoting soil erosion and causing the loss of other resources,as litter and seeds.retention forestry practices can help to decrease or mitigate resource loss in the managed stands.Specifically,retaining and redistributing biological legacies(e.***.logs,branches,woody debris)at strategic locations can create sediment,litter,and seed-sinks in the silvopastor.l systems.In addition,grazing management could increase or,even,decrease the success of this practice.In this study,we assessed the effect of branch barriers and grazing management on resource run-off/runon processes in silvopastor.l systems of Arid Chaco(Córdoba,Argentina).To do this,a 2-ha area was divided in two paddocks that were randomly assigned to different grazing managements:winter vs.continuous grazing.We randomly selected 22 water run-off paths in each paddock,and in the half of them,we build elongated branch piles.In each run-off path(with and without branch barriers),we recorded the amount of accumulated and lost sediment(during the rainy season),litter biomass,germinable seed bank,richness and cover of plant species,and richness and density of seedlings and saplings of woody species.results:Branch barriers promoted sediment accumulation during the first and the second year of the study,depending on grazing management.The tempor.l and spatial scale of the effect of the branch barriers also depended on grazing management.Branch barriers also trapped litter and seeds,which may have increased the richness and density of seedlings and saplings of woody species.Conclusions:By intercepting the dominant flow of erosive agents,branch barriers trapped sediment,litter,and propagules of different species.A greater amount of sediment and litter would have improved microsite quality,favouring seed germination and seedling emergence of tree and shrub species,w

Bariatric surgery induces alterations in effective connectivity between the orbitofrontal cortex and limbic regions in obese patients

Obese subjects show enhanced brain responses in motivation and reward neurocircuitry encompassing sensory and somatic integration-interception, motivation-reward(striatal), emotion, and memory processes, which attenuate frontal region activation during food cues. Bariatric surgery(BS) is the only r.liable treatment for morbid obesity. Unfortunately, it is unknown how BS affects neurocircuitry after weight loss. We aimed to examine effects of BS on the basal activity of brain areas involved in reward and motivation processing, emotion, memory, and gut-brain interaction. We combined resting-state fMrI with amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation(AlFF) and Granger causality analysis(GCA) to assess interactions between regions within the frontal-mesolimbic circuitry in 16 obese subjects(OB) and 22 normal-weight(NW) subjects.The OB group was studied at baseline and 1 month post BS. Comparisons between OB and NW, and preand post BS showed significant differences in AlFF in areas involved in drive(caudate, orbitofrontal cortex(OFC)), arousal(thalamus), and conditioning/memory(amygdala, hippocampus)(P r correction). GCA revealed that in the OB group, the OFC had greater connectivity to limbic regions(amygdala,hippocampus, and medial thalamus) and the caudate. Post BS, the connectivity of the OFC to limbic regions decreased, whereas the connectivity from the amygdala and hippocampus to the caudate and thalamus was enhanced, particularly in subjects with lower body mass index(BMI). OFC activation in the OB group was associated with BMI prior to surgery, and changes in OFC post surgery were associated with alterations in BMI. Over.ll, the functional connectivity of the OFC was significantly decreased. As it is important for salience attribution and connected to limbic brain regions involved with emotional reactivity and conditioning after BS, its significant association with BMI changes indicates the contribution of OFC changes to the improved contr.l of eating behavior after surgery.

风能的随机性会引起风力发电出力不平稳,与此同时,电网电压跌落会给风电机组带来脱网运行的风险。针对该问题,文章将电解槽-储氢罐-质子交换膜燃料电池循环系统作为储能装置,接入风力发电系统背靠背变换器直流侧,构成了风电氢联产系统。在风电过剩时,系统通过电解水制氢储存多余电能;在风能不足时,消耗氢气产生电能,补偿不足的有功功率。文章在分析系统构成及运行方式的基础上,设计了各组成单元协调控制策略。MATlAB仿真结果表明:在文章提出的控制策略作用下,系统可以有效地抑制风速随机变化引起的输出功率的波动;配电网电压跌落时,系统具有较强的抵御风机脱网的能力。

针对质子交换膜燃料电池的建模与控制问题,概述了基于极化曲线和参数维度的经验模型和机理模型,分析了基于电化学反应、温度、压力等因素的电化学稳态模型和动态模型,介绍了基于神经网络辨识、群集智能算法和支持向量机等的智能方法模型,对质子交换膜燃料电池的现有智能控制策略进行了总结,最后指出:利用群集智能算法同时优化质子交换膜燃料电池的模型参数和环境参数将是建模的一个发展方向,预测广义Hamilton理论等也可被尝试用于质子交换膜燃料电池建模的研究中,同时融合新算法的智能控制策略将成为质子交换膜燃料电池控制的研究趋势.

Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst of the Or.l Cavity: A Clinical Case and Current Updates on the Ethiopathogenesis

Background: The calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) is a rare pathological entity. It falls into a group of lesions with calcifications that present benign and sometime malignant tumor variants. Case Presentation: In the present study, we report on a case of intraosseous/intrasinusal COC with impacted maxillary canine and dentinoid structures odontoma-like. The clinical, radiographical, histopathological, and molecular characteristics of this pathological entity are discussed in relation also to the problems of differential diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. Conclusion: The true COC is a rare entity in the oral cavity and represents about less than 1% of all odontogenic lesions. Careful clinical, instrumental and histological analysis must be performed for odontogenic cysts in order to accomplish the correct surgical act and to avoid recurrence.
