Recycling of carbon fiber reinforced composites is important for sustainable development and the circular *** the use of dynamic chemistry,developing high-strength recyclable CFRPs remains a major challenge due to the mutual exclusivity between the dynamic and mechanical properties of ***,we developed a high-strength recyclable epoxy resin(HREP)based on dynamic dithioacetal covalent adaptive network using diglycidyl ether bisphenol A(DgEBA),pentaerythritol tetra(3-mercapto-propionate)(PETMP),and vanillin epoxy resin(VEPR).At high temperatures,the exchange reaction of thermally activated dithioacetals accelerated the rearrangement of the network,giving it significant reprocessing ***,HREP exhibited excellent solvent resistance due to the increased cross-linking *** this high-strength recyclable epoxy resin as the matrix and carbon fiber modified with hyperbranched ionic liquids(HBP-AMIM+PF6-)as the reinforcing agent,high performance CFRPs were successfully *** tensile strength,interfacial shear strength(IFSS)and interlaminar shear strength(ILSS)of the optimized formulation(HREP20/CF-HBPPF6)were 1016.1,70.8 and 76.0 MPa,*** addition,the CFRPs demonstrated excellent solvent and acid/*** CFRPs could completely degrade within 24 h in DMSO at 140℃,and the recycled CF still maintained the same tensile strength and ILSS as the original after multiple degradation cycles.

Highly efficient recovery of waste LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(z)O_(2) cathode materials using a process involving pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy

Substantial environmental and economic benefits can be achieved by recycling used lithium-ion batteries. Hydrometallurgy is often employed to recover waste LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(z)O_(2) cathode materials. As Ni, Co and Mn are transition metals, they exhibit similar properties;therefore, separating them is difficult. Thus, most researchers have focused on leaching processes, while minimal attention has been devoted to the separation of valuable metals from waste LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(z)O_(2) cathode materials. Herein, we propose an environment-friendly, gentle process involving the usage of pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy to gradually leach valuable metals and effectively separate them. Interestingly, Li is recovered through a reduction roasting and water leaching process using natural graphite powder, Ni and Co are recovered through ammonia leaching and extraction processes and Mn is recovered through acid leaching and evaporation–crystallization processes. Results show that ~87% Li, 97.01% Co, 97.08% Ni and 99% Mn can be leached using water, ammonia and acid leaching processes. The result obtained using the response surface methodology shows that the concentration of (NH4)2SO3 is a notable factor affecting the leaching of transition metals. Under optimal conditions, ~97.01% Co, 97.08% Ni and 0.64% Mn can be leached out. The decomposition of LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(z)O_(2) is a two-step process. This study provides valuable insights to develop an environment-friendly, gentle leaching process for efficiently recycling valuable metals, which is vital for the lithium-ion battery recycling industry.

Sequential good lattice point sets for computer experiments

Sequential Latin hypercube designs(SLHDs) have recently received great attention for computer experiments, with much of the research restricted to invariant spaces. The related systematic construction methods are inflexible, and algorithmic methods are ineffective for large designs. For designs in contracting spaces, systematic construction methods have not been investigated yet. This paper proposes a new method for constructing SLHDs via good lattice point sets in various experimental spaces. These designs are called sequential good lattice point(SgLP) sets. Moreover, we provide efficient approaches for identifying the(nearly)optimal SgLP sets under a given criterion. Combining the linear level permutation technique, we obtain a class of asymptotically optimal SLHDs in invariant spaces, where the L1-distance in each stage is either optimal or asymptotically optimal. Numerical results demonstrate that the SgLP set has a better space-filling property than the existing SLHDs in invariant spaces. It is also shown that SgLP sets have less computational complexity and more adaptability.

Through carrying out the high-temperature tensile experiments on an as-extruded Mg-11wt%Y alloy at 350℃,400℃,450℃,500℃and 550℃,the mechanical behavior and fracture mechanisms at elevated temperatures are investigated and *** results show that with the increase of temperature,the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of the alloy increase at first and then decrease,while that the elongation ratio decreases firstly and then *** the sample being tested at 350℃,the values of yield strength,ultimate tensile strength and the elongation ratio are 188 MPa,266 MPa and 11%,*** 400℃,the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength reach the maximum values of,respectively,198 MPa and 277 MPa,but the elongation ratio is the lowest and its value is only 8%.When the applied temperature is increased to 550℃,the values of yield strength and ultimate tensile strength,respectively,decrease to 140 MPa and 192 MPa and the elongation ratio increases to 38%.Failure analysis demonstrates that the fracture surfaces of different samples are mainly composed of plastic dimples and exhibit the typical characteristic of ductile *** observation to the fracture side surfaces indicates that at the temperatures of 350℃and 400℃,microcracks mainly initiate in the interior of Mg_(24)Y_(5)*** the temperatures are 450℃,500℃and 550℃,the cracks preferentially initiate at the Mg_(24)Y_(5)/α-Mg interfaces.

High-temperature thin-film sensors(TFSs)often suffer from inadequate tolerance to elevated *** this study,an innovative approach is presented to fabricate in situ integrated TFSs with a core-shell structure on alloy components using coaxial multi-ink printing *** method replaces traditional layerby-layer(LbL) deposition and LbL sintering processes and achieves simplified one-step *** coaxial TFS includes a conductive Pt core for conducting and sensing and a dielectric shell for electrical isolation and high-temperature *** coaxial Pt resistance grid demonstrates excellent high-temperature stability,with a resistance drift rate of only 0.08%·h^(-1) at 800 ℃,significantly lower than traditional Pt *** employing this method,a Pt thin-film strain gauge(TFSg) is fabricated that boasts remarkable high-temperature electromechanical *** effectively addresses the problem of sensitivity degradation experienced by traditional LbL Pt TFSgs when subjected to high *** demonstrate the system integration potential of the technique by printing and verifying the functionality of a long-path thinfilm resistance grid on turbine blades,which can withstand butane flame up to ~1300℃.These results showcase the potential of core-shell structure of the coaxial TFS for high-temperature applications,providing a novel approach to develop high-performance TFS beyond traditional multilayer structure.

The topology of conjugated macrocycles had significant impacts on their photo-physical and photochemical ***,a series ofπ-conjugated macrocycles with diverse topology were synthesized via intramolecular McMurry *** chemical structure and macrocyclic topology were unambiguously confirmed via NMR,MALDI-TOF mass spectra,crystal analysis and scanning tunneling microscopy(STM).Depending on the structural topology and structural rigidity,these cyclic compounds display obviously distinctive emission behavior and photochemical reactions in the solution and in the solid *** phenylene vinylene macrocycle(denoted as MST)exhibiting aggregation-induced emission behavior,was more vulnerable to photo-cyclization in solution and triplet sensitizer promoted photodimerization due to lower strain and more flourishing intramolecular *** UV light irradiation,relatively more flexible MST could yield the anti-dimer via triplet excimer on the HOPg surface confirmed by STM *** contrast,highly constrained bicyclic analogue(named as DMTPE)with central tetraphenylethene core,displayed high emission quantum yields of 68%both in solution and in the solid state,and was relatively inert to photochemical reactions and yield syn-dimer on the surface via singlet excimer involved[2+2]*** on the solution-mediated photo-polymerization of MST moiety,multicyclic porous carbon-rich ribbon connected with four-membered ring was successfully constructed and validated via STM imaging.

Fibroblast-localized lncRNA CFIRL promotes cardiac fibrosis and dysfunction in dilated cardiomyopathy

CFIRL is a long noncoding RNA(lnc RNA),we previously identified as the most significantly upregulated lnc RNA in the failing hearts of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM).In this study,we determined the function of CFIRL and its role in ***-time polymerase chain reaction and in situ hybridization assays revealed that CFIRL was primarily localized in the nucleus of cardiac fibroblasts and robustly increased in failing *** knockdown or fibroblast-specific knockout of CFIRL attenuated transverse aortic constriction(TAC)-induced cardiac dysfunction and fibrosis in *** of CFIRL in vitro promoted fibroblast proliferation and aggravated angiotensin II-induced differentiation to *** knockdown attenuated these ***,RNA pull-down assay and gene expression profiling revealed that CFIRL recruited ENO1,a newly identified noncanonical transcriptional factor,to activate ***-6 exerted a paracrine effect on cardiomyocytes to promote cardiac hypertrophy,which can be prevented by CFIRL *** findings uncover the critical role of CFIRL,a fibroblast-associated lnc RNA,in heart failure by facilitating crosstalk between fibroblasts and *** knockdown might be a potent strategy to prevent cardiac remodeling in heart failure,particularly in DCM.
