The high risk of postoperative mortality in lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)patients is principally driven by cancer recurrence and low response rates to adjuvant ***,A combined cohort containing 1,026 stageⅠ-Ⅲpatients was divided into the learning(n Z 678)and validation datasets(n Z 348).The former was used to establish a 16-mRNA risk signature for recurrence prediction with multiple statistical algorithms,which was verified in the valida-tion *** and multivariate analyses confirmed it as an independent indicator for both recurrence-free survival(RFS)and overall survival(OS).Distinct molecular characteristics between the two groups including genomic alterations,and hallmark pathways were compre-hensively ***,the classifier was tightly linked to immune infiltrations,high-lighting the critical role of immune surveillance in prolonging survival for ***,the classifier was a valuable predictor for therapeutic responses in patients,and the low-risk group was more likely to yield clinical benefits from immunotherapy.A transcription factor regulato-ry proteineprotein interaction network(TF-PPI-network)was constructed via weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA)concerning the hub genes of the *** con-structed multidimensional nomogram dramatically increased the predictive ***-fore,our signature provides a forceful basis for individualized LUAD management with promising potential implications.

Ultrasmall Ga-ICG nanoparticles based gallium ion/photodynamic synergistic therapy to eradicate biofilms and against drug-resistant bacterial liver abscess

Pyogenic liver abscess and keratitis are aggressive bacterial infections and the treatment has failed to eradicate bacteria in infectious sites completely owing to the currently severe drug resistance to existing ***,we report a simple and efficient one-step development of ultrasmall non-antibiotic nanoparticles(ICG-Ga NPs)containing clinically approved gallium(Ⅲ)(Ga^(3+))and liver targeting indocyanine green(ICG)molecules to eradicate multi-drug resistant(MDR)bacteria thought the synergetic effect of photodynamic therapy and iron metabolism *** ICG-Ga NPs induced photodynamic effect could destroy the bacterial membrane,further boost the endocytosis of Ga^(3+),then replace iron in bacteria cells to disrupt bacterial iron metabolism,and demonstrate the synergetic bacterial killing and biofilm disrupting *** ICG-Ga NPs show an excellent therapeutic effect against extended spectrumβ-lactamases Escherichia coli(ESBL ***)and significantly improve treatment outcomes in infected liver abscess and ***,the ultrasmall size of ICG-Ga NPs could be cleared rapid via renal clearance route,guaranteeing the *** protective effect and good biocompatibility of ICG-Ga NPs will facilitate clinical treatment of bacteria infected diseases and enable the development of next-generation non-antibiotic antibacterial agents.

High levels of fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))is linked to poor air quality and premature deaths,so haze pollution deserves the attention of the *** abundant inorganic components in PM_(2.5),ammonium nitrate(NH_(4)NO_(3))formation includes two processes,the diffusion process(molecule of ammonia and nitric acid move from gas phase to liquid phase)and the ionization process(subsequent dissociation to form ions).In this study,we discuss the impact of meteorological factors,emission sources,and gaseous precursors on NH4NO3 formation based on thermodynamic theory,and identify the dominant factors during clean periods and haze *** show that aerosol liquid water content has a more significant effect on ammonium nitrate formation regardless of the severity of *** dust source is dominant emission source in clean periods;while a combination of coal combustion and vehicle exhaust sources is more important in haze *** the control of ammonia emission is more effective in reducing the formation of ammonium *** findings of this work inform the design of effective strategies to control particulate matter pollution.

The extensive phenotypic diversity within natural populations of Arabidopsis is associated with differences in gene *** levels can be considered as in-heritable quantitative traits,and used to map expression quantitative trait loci(eQTL)in genome-wide association studies(GWASs).In order to identify putative genetic de-terminants for variations in gene expression,we used pub-licly available genomic and transcript variation data from 665 Arabidopsis accessions and applied the single nucleotide polymorphism-set(Sequence)Kernel Association Test(SKAT)method for the identification of ***,we used the penalized orthogonal-components regression(POCRE)method to increase the power of statistical ***,gene annotations were used as test units to identify genes that are associated with natural variations in transcript accumulation,which correspond to candidate regulators,some of which may have a broad impact on gene *** increasing the chances to identify real as-sociations,the analysis using POCRE and SKAT significantly reduced the computational cost required to analyze large *** a proof of concept,we used this approach to identify eQTL that represent novel candidate regulators of immune *** versatility of this approach allows its application to any process that is subjected to natural var-iation among Arabidopsis accessions.

Understanding ozone(O_(3))formation regime is a prerequisite in formulating an effective O_(3)pollution control *** indicator is a simple and direct method in identifying O_(3)formation *** used indicators are derived from observations,whereas the role of atmospheric oxidation is not in consideration,which is the core driver of O_(3)***,it may impact accuracy in signaling O_(3)formation *** this study,an advanced three-dimensional numerical modeling system was used to investigate the relationship between atmospheric oxidation and O_(3)formation regimes during a long-lasting O_(3)exceedance event in September 2017 over the Pearl River Delta(PRD)of *** discovered a clear relationship between atmospheric oxidative capacity and O_(3)formation *** eastern PRD,O_(3)formation was mainly in a NO x-limited regime when HO_(2)/OH ratio was higher than 11,while in a VOC-limited regime when the ratio was lower than *** central and western PRD,an HO_(2)/OH ratio higher than 5 and lower than 2 was indicative of NO x-limited and VOC-limited regime,*** contribution,including horizontal transport and vertical transport,may pose uncertainties on the indication of O_(3)formation regime by HO_(2)/OH *** comparison with other commonly used photochemical indicators,HO_(2)/OH ratio had the best performance in differentiating O_(3)formation *** study highlighted the necessities in using an atmospheric oxidative capacity-based indicator to infer O_(3)formation regime,and underscored the importance of characterizing behaviors of radicals to gain insight in atmospheric processes leading to O_(3)pollution over a photochemically active region.

Removal of trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole in artificial composite soil treatment systems and diversity of microbial communities

Four artificial composite soil treatment systems(ACSTs)fed with reclaimed water containing trimethoprim(TMP)and sulfamethoxazole(SMX)were constructed to investigate SMX and TMP biodegradation efficiency,ammonia and nitrite removal conditions and the microbial community within ACST *** showed SMX and TMP removal rates could reach 80% and 95%,respectively,and removal rates of ammonia and nitrite could reach 80% and 90%,respectively,in *** MiSeq sequencing results showed that microbial community structures of the ACSTs were *** dominant microbial community in the adsorption and biodegradation layers of the ACSTs contained Proteobacteria,Chloroflexi,Acidobacteria,Firmicutes,Actinobacteria and *** and Proteobacteria were considerably dominant in the ACST biodegradation *** entire experimental results indicated that Nitrosomonadaceae_uncultured,Nitrospira and Bacillus were associated with nitrification processes,while Bacillus and Lactococcus were associated with SMX and TMP removal *** findings suggest that ACSTs are appropriate for engineering applications.
