Lithium-oxygen batteries are a promising technology because they can greatly surpass the energy density of lithium-ion ***,this theoretical characteristic has not yet been converted into a real device with high *** with air contamination,metallic lithium reactivity,and complex discharge and charge reactions are the main issues for this technology.A fast and reversible oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is crucial for good performance of secondary batteries',but the partial knowledge of its mechanisms,especially when devices are concerned,hinders further *** this perspective,the present work uses operando Raman experiments and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)to assess the first stages of the discharge processes in porous carbon electrodes,following their changes cycle by cycle at initial operation.A growth kinetic formation of the discharge product signal(Li_(2)O_(2))was observed with operando Raman,indicating a first-order reaction and enabling an analysis by a microkinetic *** solution mechanism in the evaluated system was ascribed for an equivalent circuit with three time *** the time constant for the anode interface reveals to remain relatively constant after the first discharge,its surface seemed to be more *** model indicated that the reaction occurs at the Li_(2)O_(2) surface,decreasing the associated resistance during the initial discharge ***,the growth of Li_(2)O_(2) forms a hetero-phase between Li_(2)O_(2)/electrolyte,while creating a more compact and homogeneous on the Li_(2)O_(2)/cathode *** methodology here described thus offers a way of directly probing changes in surface chemistry evolution during cycling from a device through EIS analysis.

This work shows the synthesis,characterization and evaluation of dense-ceramic membranes made of Ce_(0.85)Gd_(0.15)O_(2-δ)-LaNiO_(3)(CG-LN)composites,where the fluorite-perovskite ratio(CG:LN)was varied as follows:75:25,80:20 and 85:15 wt.%.Supports were initially characterized by XRD,SEm and electrical conductivity(using vacuum and oxygen atmospheres),to determine the composition,microstructural and ionic-electronic conductivity ***,supports were infiltrated with an eutectic carbonates mixture,producing the corresponding dense dual-phase membranes,in which CO_(2)permeation tests were ***,CO_(2)permeation experiments were performed from 900 to 700℃,in the presence and absence of oxygen(flowed in the sweep membrane side).Results showed that these composites possess high CO_(2)permeation properties,where the O_(2)addition significantly improves the ionic conduction on the sweep membrane ***,the GC80-LN20 composition presented the best results due to the following physicochemical characteristics:high electronic and ionic conductivity,appropriate porosity,interconnected porous channels,as well as thermal and chemical stabilities between the composite support and carbonate phases.

Atomically thin Pt nanolayers were synthesized on the surface of mo2TiC2 mXenes and used for the catalytic dehydrogenation of ethane and propane into ethylene and propylene,two important chemicals for the petrochemical *** compared with Pt nanoparticles,the atomically thin Pt nanolayer catalyst showed superior coke-resistance(no deactivation for 24 h),high activity(turnover frequencies(TOFs)of 0.4–1.2 s^(-1)),and selectivity(>95%)toward ethylene and *** unique Pt nanolayer has a similar geometric surface to Pt nanoparticles,enabling the investigations of the electronic effect on the catalytic performance,where the geometric effect is *** is found that the electronic effect plays a critical role in dehydrogenative product selectivity and catalyst *** metal–support interaction is found dependent on the substrate and metal components,providing wide opportunities to explore high-performance mXene-supported metallic catalysts.

Exploring the utility of the Chasing Principle:influence of drug-free SNEDDS composition on solubilization of carvedilol, cinnarizine and R3040 in aqueous suspension

This study assessed the influence of the composition of drug-free SNEDDS co-dosed with aqueous suspensions of carvedilol(CAR), cinnarizine(CIN) or R3040 on drug solubilization in a twocompartment in vitro lipolysis model. Correlation of drug log P or solubility in SNEDDS with drug solubilization during in vitro lipolysis in the presence of drug-free SNEDDS was assessed. SNEDDS with varying ratios of soybean oil:maisine 35-1(1:1, w/w) and Kolliphor RH40, with ethanol at 10%(w/w) were used. SNEDDS were named F65, F55 and F20(numbers refer to the percentage of lipids) and aqueous suspensions without drug-free SNEDDS(F0) were also analyzed. While the ranking order of drug solubilization was F65? F55? F204F0 for CAR; F65? F554F204F0 for CIN and F65? F55? F204F0 for R3040-with higher CAR solubilization than for R3040 and CIN-the ranking of S_(eq)of CAR, CIN and R3040 in SNEDDS was F65 o F55o F20, F65? F554F20 and F654F554F20, respectively. Therefore, the composition of SNEDDS influenced the solubilization of CIN, but not CAR and R3040. Furthermore, high S_(eq) in SNEDDS did not reflect high drug solubilization. As CAR(log P 3.8) showed higher solubilization than CIN(log P 5.8) and R3040(log P 10.4), a correlation between drug log P and drug solubilization was observed.

Different La2O3 contents（0, 1, 2, 3, and 5 wt%） were used to prepared La2O3-ZrO2 mixed oxides calcined at 600 ℃ by the sol-gel method. The catalytic activity was measured as biodiesel production from canola oil through a transesterification reaction. The characterization results indicate that the La2O3 monolayer formation and extent of basicity of m-ZrO2 have a large influence on biodiesel *** biodiesel conversion（56% at 4 h） was obtained with the 3% La2O3-ZrO2 catalyst in the presence of basic sites and the formation of a monolayer of La2O3. The decrease in the catalytic activity for 5% La2O3-ZrO2 resulted from the loss of active sites on the catalyst because of agglomeration, which was suggested by XPS and the isoelectric point. The kinetic data fit to a pseudo-first order constant, and the largest kinetic constant corresponds to 3% La2O3-ZrO2, currently the largest heterogeneous non-alkaline metal catalyst reported for a transesterification reaction.

Gold-iron oxide nano-heterostructures with a clear and well-defined morphology were prepared via a seed-assisted method. The synthesis process and the events of heterogeneous nucleation during the decomposition of the iron precursor were carefully studied in order to understand the mechanism of the reaction and to tailor the architecture of the fabricated heterostructures. When employing Au seeds of 3 and 5 nm, nanoparticles with a dimer-like morphology were produced due to the occurrence of a single iron oxide nucleation event. Otherwise, multi-nucleation events could be favored by two mechanisms:(i) by the incorporation of a reducing agent and the slowing down of the heating protocol, leading to a core-shell system;(ii) by the increase of the Au seed size to 8 nm, leading to a flower-like system. Further increase of the Au seed size to 12 nm using similar synthesis conditions promotes the homogeneous nucleation and growth of the iron oxide phase, without formation of heterostructures. An in-depth study was performed on the gold-iron oxide heterostructures to confirm the epitaxial growth of the oxide domain over the Au seed and to analyze the elemental distribution of the components within the heterostructures. Finally, it was found that the modification of the plasmonic properties of the Au nanoparticles are strongly influenced by the architecture of the heterostructure, with a more pronounced damping effect for the systems produced after multi-nucleation events.

Transforming growth factor-β1 induces intestinal myofibroblast differentiation and modulates their migration

AIm： To investigate the effects of transforming growth factor β1 （TGF-β1） on the differentiation of colonic lamina propria fibroblasts （CLPF） into myofibroblasts in vitro.mETHODS： Primary CLPF cultures were incubated with TGF-β1 and analyzed for production of m-smooth muscle actin （α-SmA）, fibronectin （FN） and FN isoforms. migration assays were performed in a modified 48-well Boyden chamber. Levels of total and phosphorylated focal adhesion kinase （FAK） in CLPF were analyzed after induction of *** not change α-SmA levels, while TGF-β1 treatment for 6 d significantly increased α-SIVlA production. Short term incubation （6 h） with TGF-β1 enhanced CLPF migration, while long term treatment （6 d） of CLPF with TGF-β1 reduced migration to 15%-37% compared to untreated cells. FN and FN isoform mRNA expression were increased after short term incubation with TGF-β1 （2 d） in contrast to long term incubation with TGF-β1 for 6 d. After induction of migration, TGF-β1-preincubated CLPF showed higher amounts of FN and its isoforms and lower levels of total and phosphorylated FAK than untreated cells.CONCLUSION： Long term incubation of CLPF with TGF-β1 induced differentiation into myofibroblasts with enhanced α-SmA, reduced migratory potential and FAK phosphorylation, and increased FN production. In contrast, short term contact （6 h） of fibroblasts with TGF-β1 induced a dose-dependent increase of cell migration and FAK phosphorylation without induction of α-SmA production.

High in vitro survival rate of sheep in vitro produced blastocysts vitrified with a new method and device
