Human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) infection is a serious condition associated to severe immune dysfunction and immunodeficiency. Mechanisms involved in HIV-associated immune activation, inflammation and loss of CD4+ T cells have been extensively studied, including those concerning purinergic signaling pathways. Purinergic signaling components are involved in viral entry and replication and disease progression. Research involving the participation of purinergic signaling in HIV infection has been not only important to elucidate disease mechanisms but also to introduce new approaches to therapy. The involvement of purinergic signaling in the pathogenesis of HIV infection and its implications in the control of the HIV infection are reviewed in this paper.

Gastrointestinal complications are a frequent cause of morbidity after transplantation and may affect up to 40% of kidney transplant recipients. Here we report a rare case of idiopathic giant esophageal ulcer in a kidney transplant recipient. A 37-year-old female presented with a one-week history of odynophagia and weight loss. Upon admission, the patient presented cold sores, and a quantitative cytomegalovirus polymerase chain reaction was positive(105 copies/ml). An upper endoscopy demonstrated the presence of a giant ulcer. Serological test and tissue biopsies were unable to demonstrate an infectious origin of the ulcer. Immunosuppression was reduced and everolimus was introduced. An empirical i.v. therapy with acyclovir was started, resulting in a dramatic improvement in symptoms and complete healing of the ulcer. Only two cases of idiopathic giant esophageal ulcer in kidney transplant recipients have been reported in the literature; in both cases, steroid therapy was successful without recurrence of symptoms or endoscopic findings. However, this report suggests that correction of immune imbalance is mandatory to treat such a rare complication.

Background： Wood density is considered to be the most important predictor of wood quality but despite its importance, diffuse-porous tree species have been the subject of only a limited number of studies. The importance of European beech forests for Central Europe calls for profound research to examine the potential impact of a warmer climate on the quality of beech timber. Methods： In this study we analysed the influence of tree-ring width and tree-ring age on the wood density of beech, and whether the wood density response to these two parameters is modified by aspect. A linear mixed-effects model for wood density was constructed for mean density data measured with high frequency densitometry on stem discs from 72 beech trees sampled from two different aspects （northeast -NE and southwest -SW） of a valley in southwestern Germany. Results： Part of the variability of mean annual wood density was explained by cambial age： an increase in cambial age resulted in an increase in mean wood density. Tree-ring width and aspect had only a small influence on wood density, Wood density on the SW aspect was lower than on the NE with a difference of approximately 0.006 g/cm3. The between-tree variability was very high. Conclusions： The significant interaction between cambial age and aspect reflects the importance of site conditions at older tree ages： with increasing cambial age the difference between aspects becomes stronger. Our results give a better understanding of the importance of site conditions on the wood quality of beech.

This work shows the synthesis,characterization and evaluation of dense-ceramic membranes made of Ce_(0.85)Gd_(0.15)O_(2-δ)-LaNiO_(3)(CG-LN)composites,where the fluorite-perovskite ratio(CG:LN)was varied as follows:75:25,80:20 and 85:15 wt.%.Supports were initially characterized by XRD,SEM and electrical conductivity(using vacuum and oxygen atmospheres),to determine the composition,microstructural and ionic-electronic conductivity ***,supports were infiltrated with an eutectic carbonates mixture,producing the corresponding dense dual-phase membranes,in which CO_(2)permeation tests were ***,CO_(2)permeation experiments were performed from 900 to 700℃,in the presence and absence of oxygen(flowed in the sweep membrane side).Results showed that these composites possess high CO_(2)permeation properties,where the O_(2)addition significantly improves the ionic conduction on the sweep membrane ***,the GC80-LN20 composition presented the best results due to the following physicochemical characteristics:high electronic and ionic conductivity,appropriate porosity,interconnected porous channels,as well as thermal and chemical stabilities between the composite support and carbonate phases.

Vocal divergence within species often corresponds to morphological, environmental, and genetic differences between populations. Wolf howls are long-range signals that encode individual, group, and subspecies differences, yet the factors that may drive this variation are poorly understood. furthermore, the taxonomic division within the Canis genus remains contended and additional data are required to clarify the position of the Himalayan, North African, and Indian wolves within Canis lupus. We recorded 451 howls from the 3 most basal wolf lineages-Himalayan C. lupus chanco-Himalayan haplotype, North African C. lupus lupaster, and Indian C. lupus pallipes wolves-and present a howl acoustic description within each clade. With an additional 619 howls from 7 Holarctic subspecies, we used a random forest classifier and principal component analysis on 9 acoustic parameters to assess whether Himalayan, North African, and Indian wolf howls ex- hibit acoustic differences compared to each other and Holarctic wolf howls. Generally, both the North African and Indian wolf howls exhibited high mean fundamental frequency （f0） and short duration compared to the Holarctic clade. In contrast, the Himalayan wolf howls typically had lower mean f0, unmodulated frequencies, and short howls compared to Holarctic wolf howls. The Himalayan and North African wolves had the most acoustically distinct howls and differed significantly from each other and to the Holarctic wolves. Along with the influence of body size and environmental differences, these results suggest that genetic divergence and/or geographic distance may play an important role in understanding howl variation across subspecies.

Objective:Radical prostatectomy is the recommended treatment for localized prostate cancer;however,it is an invasive procedure that can leave serious ***-assisted radical prostatectomy was introduced with the aim of reducing postoperative morbidity and facilitating rapid recovery compared to the traditional Walsh’s open radical retropubic ***,a protocol was developed to perform an open prostatectomy comparable to that performed by robotics,but without involving novel ***:A total of 220 patients diagnosed with localized prostate cancer underwent radical *** were divided into two groups:anterograde technique(115 patients)and the retrograde method(105 patients).The study outcomes were observed 3 months after ***:No differences were found in terms of surgical time,hospital stay,and suction ***,reduced bleeding was observed in the anterograde technique(p=0.0003),with rapid anastomosis duration(p=0.005).Among the patients,60.9% undergoing the anterograde technique were continent 3 months after surgery compared to 42.9%treated by the retrograde method(p=0.007).Additionally,fewer complications in terms of the number(p=0.007)and severity(p=0.0006)were observed in the anterograde ***:The anterograde method displayed increased efficiency in reducing complications,compared to the retrograde technique.

AIM: To assess the inflammatory cytokines expression in aqueous humor in diabetic primary open angle glaucoma(POAG) patients. METHODS: A cross-sectional study on 87 eyes, distributed as following: 26 eyes from diabetic patients, 16 eyes with POAG and 21 eyes from diabetic POAG patients; healthy controls(24 eyes) were recruited from patients undergoing conventional cataract surgery. A volume of 100 μL of aqueous humor(AH) was collected during phacoemulsification and 21 inflammatory markers were quantified using a Luminex~? cytometric bead assay: IL-1 Ra, IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-5, IL-6, IL-10, IL-17, GM-CSf, IfNγ, CCL2, CCL3, CCL4, CXCL5, CXCL8, bfGf, VEGf, TNfα. Main changes in cytokine profile were analyzed and compared between groups. Data on demographics, duration of glaucoma, intraocular pressure(IOP), number of anti-glaucoma substances were recorded for correlation analysis and prediction models. RESULTS: Significant differences in cytokine expression between groups were detected for CXCL5(Pfα(P=0.05). Post-hoc analysis identified IL-2(P=0.009) and CXCL5(Pfα levels f(1, 16)=14.639, Pf(1, 24)=4.844, P=0.006 and diabetic POAG patients f(1, 19)=2.358, P=0.05 the level of prediction was ***: Our results reveal an inflammatory model based on increased TNfα levels in POAG *** co-stimulatory molecules and additional inflammatory pathways need to be further explored in diabetic POAG cases, since the prediction model could only partially explain the increased TNfα level in this category of patients.

数字和数量处理能力(数字认知)的重要性在现代生活中的方方面面。几乎每时每刻都涉及数字处理,并且数字处理能力与工作之间也有密切联系。许多神经科学家都试图揭开数字认知的大脑基础,适应范式作为他们研究思路的常用范式。基于此,本研究也采用适应范式作为研究数字处理过程中大脑激活的方法论框架。以往研究使用这一范式来探索大脑对非符号和符号形式的反应,得到了大量一致的数字适应结果。本研究旨在采用f NIRS来评估跨文化背景成人的大脑对数字适应的反应。为此,本研究通过(1)使用f MRI的研究中确定了数字适应而最常报告的激活区域;(2)使用f NIRS确定上述区域的激活模式,以及跨文化样本中不同刺激形式的数字适应。在研究1中,对已发表的f MRI数字适应研究进行了元分析。为此检索了截至2021年发表的14篇f MRI关于数字适应的论文。再根据研究的刺激形式(符号与非符号)将这些论文分为两组。对符号和非符号两个条件进行了大脑区域激活似然估计分析,并对激活图进行了对比分析。此外,对这两种情况都进行了偏侧化指数分析。结果表明,在非符号条件下的研究中,发现了双侧顶内沟的右偏侧化激活。在符号条件下的研究,发现了双侧顶内沟的左偏侧化激活。在额叶皮层和视觉皮层也发现了大脑活动。研究2利用近红外光谱(f NIRS)探究了汉语母语者和阿拉伯语母语者对不同刺激形式的数字适应的顶内沟激活模式。实验中包含5个不同条件的数字适应任务:非符号条件、西方阿拉伯数字条件、东方阿拉伯数字条件、汉字条件和阿拉伯数字条件。该任务是根据先前关于数字适应的研究设计的。共招募了45名以汉语母语者(年龄:19.578±1.390岁)和24名阿拉伯母语者(年龄:26.417±3.562岁)。采用28通道f NIRS设备(fOIRE-3000/16,Shimadzu Corporation,Japan),根据修正的比尔-朗伯(Beer-Lambert)定律测量各通道中氧合血红蛋白(Hb O)、脱氧血红蛋白(Hb R)和总血红蛋白(t Hb)浓度的变化。通道分布于双侧顶叶区(14个通道)和双侧额叶区(14个通道)。对于中国组来看,在非符号和西方阿拉伯数字条件下发现双边、右侧IPS激活。在汉字条件下发现了双边、左侧化的IPS激活。东方阿拉伯数字和阿拉伯数字单词条件没有报告显着激活。对于阿拉伯语组来看,在非符号、汉字和东方阿拉伯数字条件下发现双边、左侧IPS激活。发现阿拉伯数字单词条件的双边、右侧IPS激活。没有发现西方阿拉伯数字条件的显着激活。中文组在非符号、西方阿拉伯数字、东方阿拉伯数字和汉字条件下发现额叶皮层激活。对于阿拉伯组来看,在所有条件下都发现了额叶皮层激活。研究2的主要结果强调了双侧IPS和额叶皮层在不同数字形式和不同文化的数字适应中的关键作用。此外,结果发现顶内沟激活的偏侧化存在显著差异;这突出了书写方向偏好在数字处理中的作用。在相同形式的刺激下,不同组之间顶内沟偏侧化的差异挑战了基因决定数字感觉的概念,并且该结果表明,可能存在着一个量级系统,而不是解释了以非符号形式处理数字信息的过程。在符号条件下也发现了相同的结果,进一步支持了语言习得在数感发展过程中起到中介作用的观点。通过f NIRS测量的数字适应结果发现,大脑对符号刺激形式的适应反应存在显著差异。与此同时,研究结果也发现了支持语言影响符号数字加工的证据,具体体现在数字词汇习得方面。本研究的结果强调了无论刺激形式或语言依赖因素如何,顶内沟和额叶皮层在需要进行数字处理时起到关键作用。此外,IPS激活偏侧化的差异突出了书写方向偏好在数字处理中的作用。同时,研究也证明了适应范式在探索IPS激活过程中具有较高的可靠性。这些结果还证明了f NIRS研究成人在跨文化或不同刺激形式的数字适应的可靠性。本研究首次对f MRI数字适应范式研究进行了元分析,同时,也是第一个在跨文化成人中进行近红外光谱的数字适应范式研究,此外,还是第一个在同一任务中比较了大脑对四种不同符号形式适应性的研究。
